  1. Yes but that was later IIRC, and meant primarily to kill off the chance that the USAF would ever get F-20's.
  2. I think pod, the closest comparison that I've read to F-15SA is the Slam Eagle.
  3. Transformers United Blurr New Pics 2011 Exclusive G2 Ramjet Revealed I dig Ramjet..crossing fingers for mass market Thundercracker!
  4. Okay boys, I got some Tomcat questions: Read that the F-14 IMI was planned to have the GAU-7/A cannon. My question is, was this going to be mounted internally, or in an external pod? Secondly, I've heard the F-14 IMI proposal called the F-14ADC. If anything, I think the mockup looked cool(more range on an already long range fighter). What did ADC stand for?
  5. I'm still hoping for this, preferably designed by FLEX and/or Bandai's Hobby Division(not Collector's Division/Tamashii). Case in point, compare the RX-78 toys by Tamashii(GFFMC, GFF I think, MSiA!, Robot Damashii SIDE MS) compared to Bandai Hobby Division(SHCMpro).

  8. I've been playing this game more, and it has yet to get boring. I think I am on my 5th playthrough. Still a good number of planes that remain unlocked. Even then, I cannot afford all of the planes in the hangar. Rather than sell everything and buy the super planes, what I did was buy the planes that I liked, and I got some love for the vintage planes. I finally bought the YF-23 earlier this week. All 5th generation planes are uber expensive in the game, triple digits. It will be a while before I can buy the likes of the F-22, SU-47, and stuff like the XFA-27. There are a TON of emblems to unlock. Some are modex numbers, emblems from previous Ace Combat games(like Neucom, General Resource, Mobius Squadron, Scarface Squadron, skull and crossbones, Aurelia, et al). What I love about the game is the upgrade system. It is something that I think ought to be implemented in future games. I hope Assault Horizon has this as it is one of the best innovations made to the series. It was cool in X, far better in Joint Assault. There is a wing tuning part that can increase the mobility of the YF-23 to a very high extent, and the YF-23 is also compatible with the Sniper OS. high mobility, speed, and Sniper OS make it much less frustrating to take out Sulejmani in normal-Ace difficulties in the last mission.
  9. Someone was killed filming The Dark Knight
  10. Pata and Yoshiki from X-Japan could make some good instrumentals for Top Gun 2.
  11. Hmmm...well the USAF still has some QF-4's that have manned flights at times..it would be cool to see them in the movie. I'd take a non-Navy Phantom over a CG one. If the director from Les Chevaliers du Ciel could direct, with no CG, AND access/budget for the use of French Navy F-8's...then I'd be UBER excited. Don't want to see a live action CG jet movie.
  12. Wow...that BEST GUY movie actually looks decent...I actually dig the song too. Wonder if it's available subtitled. Have you seen the movie Vifam? Sure it would be easy to keep track of, the Legacy Hornets would fly "harder and faster" than the Super Hornets. Half-true joke. They couldn't get real Soviet aircraft then because the program to do so was still classified. It wasn't until Constant Peg was declassified a few years ago that the US finally admitted that it had been flying and analyzing MIGs since the 60's. An IAF based movie would KICK ASS. I'd love to see the Bekka Valley dogfights. Preferably directed by the director of Les Chevaliers du Ciel.
  13. For a movie like this, CG for the lose. Hmm...minor appearance by Cruise...wonder if the powers that be will pull a Doug Masters Iron Eagle IV. The last good Tomcat movie was Speed & Angels....might not count though, since it's a documentary.
  14. IIRC, FLEX didn't work on the final YF-19 1/60 prototype, it was primarily SOLID.
  15. This looks BEAST thanks for the link!
  16. Wow that's a good turn out! Looked like a lot of fun!
  17. There isn't much clearance when trying to insert the hip bar into the nosecone. As for the metal bar snapping to the backpack, there is resistance due to the paint on the bar, you just have to force it through, the backpack should be parallel to the nose section when you are done, and you will hear an audible "click".
  18. I'd love to see a YF-25 but only if Bandai decides to make an all new DX VF-25 toy from scratch. Bandai is known to milk their molds. They have the Macross F license and won't be letting it go anytime soon. Would they do it? I'd think so but I don't know for sure. Sure do want them to though.
  19. That does make sense, but I am still disappoint that the VF-0D is basically a lost cause now. Hopefully Bandai can VF HI METAL it, as I do not want to scratch build a Hasegawa into a transforming plamo. In my hands that would be disastrous. Beautiful aircraft, and I always liked VF-0's in gerwalk and battroid modes as well.
  20. Damn...I know the OVA series wasn't the most widely received Macross, but Macross Zero had some of the BEST mecha designs IMHO. Love the VF-0 and SV-51 designs, and the VF-0D is not only very unique, but very awesome.
  21. 2012 is not only the year in which Flashback 2012 takes place, but also the 30th Anniversary of Macross. A 1/60 VF-4 would be a fitting way to celebrate, and I LOVE the battroid mode of the VF-4, fighter mode looks great too. I'd buy it.
  22. I think the VF-0S could really be improved using the same, or similar design for the rubber shoulder blocks as the V2 1/60 VF-1. The shoulders on the V2 1/60 VF-1 are pleasantly tight.
  23. Okay, so I finally found a solution to Sulejmani in the last mission. This, after reading tips online, and trying things out for myself: Buy the Forneus Any parts to upgrade mobility/stability significantly, will aid you, the Forneus turns exceptionally well at low speed and is wicked fast. Alright, so my last fight with Sulejmani on hard mode(3rd playthrough altogether), resulted in a dogfight that lasted most likely under 10 minutes. Taking out his teammates is easy with the Forneus, just hunt them down aggressively and the Forneus is so fast and stable that it is easy to catch up, and stick with them in turns. After this, Sulejmani does his speech. After his 1st part is done, catch up to him and fire your cannon until your AWACS operator says that his defense system is done or something. After that, you can volley some missles at him, some will hit. After taking more damage, he will then start moving his plane in Cobra/Kulbit'esque bullshi* manuevers. Keep using gun. After taking more damage, he will then say some speech telling you to show him what you got. He will do head on shots when you get close to him. The key is to: Fire a missle whenever he locks onto you(especially head on), he will pull off one of the aforementioned manuevers to dodge, but he will be very slow and close for a few seconds trying to recover..you can then keep firing your cannon at him. Rinse & repeat Ultimately he will get to his final speech saying that by shooting you down, he will reclaim his childhood(and honestly after being shot down by these guys on hard mode several times and sitting through the speeches, it gets annoying), at this point, anything goes, BUT I found that it's best to just go after him and fire your cannon. I did this, and whenever he would lock onto me, I would fire a missle, which he would try to dodge, but I would very quickly try to fire my cannon at him. At that point, he died rather quick. I used the Hawk Eye avionics upgrade, but honestly I'm not sure what difference it made(said something about camera magnification increased...eh...did it mean by holding the triangle button for the tracking camera?). What I did read online, is that the easiest way to kill Sulejmani, is to upgrade the Forneus with the Sniper OS avionics upgrade. Read that Sulejmani is vulnerable to attacks from above in the last stages of the fight with him, and that you can snipe him from afar using XMAA and guns using Sniper OS. I read that it's unlocked by destroying a boat in Mission 12A or 12B, but I think you have to have bought the Forneus prior to doing so. I bought it after and the Sniper OS was not unlocked. That's one thing I somewhat dislike; you have to keep using each plane to get each of it's respective upgrade parts/weapons. I can see why this was done to increase replayability and to keep the game from becoming too easy, but sometimes it can be frustrating. Overall I've come to appreciate Joint Assault much more with the playthroughs. It's a more comprehensive and in depth game than ACX, and is a worthy sequel. Some of the advanced planes are very very expensive. On 4th playthrough now and nowhere near close to affording the F-22(not that I want it though, honestly). I should say that my hangar has a mix of old and some newer aircraft; I didn't want to get all the advanced planes off the bat, I wanted to take my time).
  24. Anyone have rubber seeping out of the shoulders on their VF-0A/S reissues? Rubber is seeping out of mine.
