Aw man that plane DOES kick ass! No unfortunately that plane was not on display, it may have been in the bombing demo and if I do havea pic I will post. I LOVE that plane! The one I got is a high contrast VF-103 Tomcat. It is a jolly roger but no grey decals, instead of yellow it has white. So its an "medium in between viz" It is an F-14B and looks AWESOME, also has 2 bombs on the phoenix palette. The F/A-18 was from VFA-43 in agressor color, not sure if I stil got the pic. THe F-15C not sure what squadron, probbaly from langley as its close by and it is in dark grey but a single seater. Wait for 97 grim reaper you are talking about the one with a red area engulfing the middle of the front fueselage as well right?(instead of black antiglare on canopy and nose its red) I love it!

see what? Su-37 and F-15ACTIV are in ace combat 4. Su-37 is yellow squadron's craft and Su-37 is a flanker with canards. F-15 ACTIV has canards that are horizontal stabilizers from an F/A-18. If you still don't know what these are I will link later on.

another figvht I should have mentioned MUCH MUCH earlier(surprised noone has yet as well) is this F-15ACTIV/STMD vs SU-37 The original flanker was meant to take on the normal eagle, but the super flanker and ACTIV are souped up versions of the respective fighters, so with that I think a dogfight with these 2 would be VERY interesting. Both have 1-mach 2 capability 2-CANARDS! 3-THRUST VECTORING maybe mach 2 dont really matter in this fight but nonetheless both can attain it. A very interestinfg fight to me and it would be a glorious VISUAL spectacle! *BTW I have some VF-103 pics from an airshow at oceana back in 97 along with a hornet and F-15C, so if anyone wants to see please say so and I will post here for all to see!*

squadron is maddog. There are symbols and squadron patches as well as bunch of good pics over at the japanese site. Acecombat.jp i believe Other squadrons are heartbreak and someting else. Enemy flag is like the russian iron sickle but... with a deer or rabbit instead LOL Yea I wish there were more concentrated missions in ace combat...like dedicated WILD WEASEL missions. Hell if you are gonna add a growler you mineswell add mission dedicated stuffnfor it right? But I still think the growler will be like a main fighter used to hunt subs and shoot down bombers in ace combay even though its a wild weasel

Reissued Voltron is 30 bucks? Really? Is this in every way the same as the old die cast toy from the '80's? If it is, why am I not aware of this!? I need to have one! I already have the cheap ass, crappy Voltron: The Third Dimension toy, and I would prefer a hard core, die cast toy. So, who's got one? :-P Not just identical, but better. Each of the lions missle functions worked now that were disabled in the 80's Matchbox versions. Heh... when they were reissued, not only were they $30 MSRP, but most went on sale pretty early on. I bought three of them. One at full price and another 2 at a whopping $9.99 each. Too bad I already sold the other two at a greatly increased profit. They fetch pretty good prices on eBay... but you can still get one far cheaper than $150.00 bucks. I would be more worried about how crappy the Toynami Voltron will turn out in terms of quality. Go handle a MPC VF-1... I wouldn't trust their "engineers" to make anything remotely nice. same here. I know a lot of you are goijng goo goo ga ga over this supposed masterpiece voltron, but come on it looks soo so so PLAIN! Whereas the godaikin looks so regal and so damn classic and impressive not to mention shiny....really a blazing if not SHINING sword. \\\all i n all even the matte painted trendmasters voltron retool was better since it had REMOVEABLEmicro pilots! will toynamies have one? My ass. TOm me it looks plain the only improvements are leg twists and possibly ball joints but other than that it looks like subpar cg zoids made 3 dimensional.

heh im playing it right now in ace difficulty and flak and aa KILLS fast! Holy crap i used to fly into gun fire not caring but in ace mode you just cant...armored bathtub in A-10? more like armoreed TARGET. I got killed last night using a F-15 enemy ace scheme ACTIV when someone creeped up and shot ONE yes ONE missle at me. THe game is immensely good, the BEST air combat arcade came on console(note i did not say SIM) and very REPLAYABLE. If anything I choose free flight mode to practice doing cobras in my flankers. Also there are many repaints of planes to buy and hunting aces takes time and dedication,..well worth it thiough since you can get their paint schemes and they in general look much better than the normal ISAF planes. Like the tiger meet phantom, that is bad ass. It is definitely worth it but if you want a sim, get aero elite academy instead. Aero elite is much more realistic and i classify it as a console sim, meaning dont expect realistic avionics but expect flight models to dramaticalyl differ than the arcade sims. Over all ace combat 4 is an immensely fun game and the replay mode looks realistic enough to confuse you with wiungs footage on discovery channel. BUY IT!

GRAHAM HOW CAN YOU FORGET THE VF-1A MAX TV TYPE???????! congrats on the kid too!!! 1/60 is a good size fo the 0 variables and will fit in with yamato's largest line, the 1/60 VF-1 seriwes.

nope if he lands in enemy territory he literally just lands in enemy territory. Doesn't mean he is blown out fo the sky.

I cant remember the last time I played the TAW sim but I think I do remember the F-22 having IRST. At ogfighting range I don't really think stealth matters. IN the sim you were only undetectable far away when you got into the enemies radar coverage they were able to lock on. But it would show you the distance to reaching their coverage...so the whole point was to avoid it and shoot their ass before tehy knew it was coming. Now in terms of X-31 lets say dogfight loadout, guns and missles. I think it could turn into the flanker and annhilate it. Now in terms of flanker vs raptor I think the powerful engines of the raptor will let it out acclerate out of its manuvers fast, if anything the flanker will likely bog down due to lots of oncoming drag and high alpha at low speed. So I think it will likely end up being an energy fight with the raptor being used like an eagle, zoom and climb, zone 5 afterburn and getting at the flankers 6 when the flanker loses a lot of speed turning tight.

heh to toynami, anyone will buy EVERYTHING. Or harmony gold I mean. Hell they advertised diecast with MPCs and they didnt implemen til vol1 and only told customers last minute before rick shipped, what makes you think toynami WONT make a small as alpha and sell it for 80$?

NOPE but I can sure as hell say the trendmasters reissue and giant version with gijoe sized figures was!!! reissue=30$ giant=60$ 20-10$ on discount matchbox...evben that big bastard was cheaper than 150$. Perhaps....but the fact is he WAS shot down....for lack of better terminology. nope. His valk was damaged beyond repair and he did a landing of somesort while taking 2 occtos with him. A plane damaged that lands is not shot down. For example. If a SAM hits a phantom jet,m and the jet makes it back to the carrier damaged, would you call that shot down? I wouldn't. ANd yes i do believe he may have initated self destruct this is possible to do witha flick of the switch and since his valk was screwed up anyways mineswell blow something up.

yes it would. A tomcat and fulcrum's airbrake as well as the airbrake on the falcon are all small in area. And they work so the VF-1 airbrake would work

yep[ as david pointed out its in jolly rogers scheme minus the skull. They should have done what am2 did in aerowings 2 air strike and put a bull skull instead. But now we get some sall as symbol.

The showboat Isamu and Hikaru would get their ass kicked, Only Max is good enough to fight someone equal or better than Roy. Isamu was a showboat, but he was also a very good (and very lucky) fighter pilot. If he was all show, Isamu would have been dead a long time ago. I think he could hold his own against Ivanov. Hikaru was not a showboat, in the TV series he seemed very responsible and never tried to go out of his way to impress anyone while he flew, well from what I can remember anyways. He also had to be responsible because Max and Kakizaki were put under him. But I'm not sure if he was good enough to take Roy's instructor. And then there's Max who could definately take Ivanov. yea really hikaru only showboated in the fan plane but that was it. NOt anything else. ey responsible and a good pilot and dogfighter in his ownright(watch episode where he duels with khyron) but he just wasnt as showy as max. I mean shoot to be skull leader you gotta be GOOD...thats the freaking CAG position..........

ok. Zero does blow up but in NO way is roy SHOT down! IF roy had to BAIL out in the air after the missle shot then yes he would be shot down but in this case he wasn't. He landed, hauled ass in battroid, and once it was about to blow ditched it. A shoot down inv9olves a missle or gun definite kill whereas the plane has nothing else to do but spiral down and the pilot either ejects or spirals with it. In this case no roy was not shot down just heavily damaged beyond repair(his 0 that is).

Hey guys. Everyone goes goo goo ga ga over the SU-37 but after reading and studying up I have come to the conclusion that in combat a cobra mgiht not even be used and as it seems it can be seen a mile a way. Nonttheless for a big ass aircraft it moves splendidly but! I came up with more matches X-31 EFM vs SU-37 super flanker and F-22 vs Su-37 this is in terms of dogfighting. I tinknthe manuevers the X-31 has and its very very nice AOA manueverability are more beneficial than the flankers *trinkets* like the culbit or cobra. (see video were x-31 scores numerous kills on f-18 mock NON CHOREAGRAPHED dogfight). I also think the F-22 might be manueverable enough to take on the SU-37 in knifefighting, I mean its fast, got high alpha low speed manueverability, and the engines really help in accelerating the hell out of a manuever as well.
