Not bad. Just gimme more thrust and some thrust vectoring on the non marine versiosn and supercruise and maybve canards and we are in business!

Anyhoo wild weasel aircraft are awesome but I cannot really say the Growler will be a wild weasel......the EA-6B was never a wild weasel to my knowledge. I tend to think of the growler as a more manuverable and armed prowler or raven. I could be wrong but the definitive wild weasels tome will always be F-4G's and F-105G's. those 2 bastards were the greatest wild weasels EVAR!

this is VERY true. I manhandle mines and it comes out alive. When transforming the trickest part is the heatshield, thatws in midtransformatioon and it feels flimsy when midtrasnformation. SO what I do is keep the head tucked under fuselage, lift chestplate at an angle, slide or push heatshield down, AND THEN move the head to robot position and fold dueselage. saves time really. Watch out for the back hinge dont force it and be careful wit the fast packs onit.

play with the damn thing. WHo the f*** doesn't play with a 1/48 with FAST packs equipped? Buying one just to put in a glass case and never move is a waste of money. Some people here have confidence problems and think they can't get chicks if they play with toys. Many of us on the other hand know otherwise.........

Janes ATF On the subject of what to take after the SAMs, the F-4G was good at it's job, but I think the Hornet will do just as good of a job. I know there are a lot of people who are going to say "Hell No!" just becuase of an anti Hornet bias (but the ability of the aircraft, doesn't ahve anything to do with the Tomcat vs. Hornet debate, and saying the Tomcat would do better isn't constructive, seeing as it won't be happening.) But it can do the job at least as good as an F-4G could if not better and the crew workload would be less than in an F-4. I don't like the idea of using the F-16 personally, becuase I think you need the second crewman to do the job properly. A team effort would work best in my opinion, Team of an EA-6 jamming and of Hornets or Falcons as the strikers to hit any targets that couldn't be jammed with either bombs or with anti-radiation missiles, but i you want to do it all with one package I think the EA-18 will be capable. Let the flaming begin. uhmmm trhew F-16CJ is a 2 seater I believe. ANd the real battle for EWAR is not tomcatr vs hornet prowler vs super hornet. there will be no team, its no EA6B helping out its just super bugs growlers. YOu think a 2nd crewman is needed try using the prowler theres no comparison theres FOUR! and tomcat was never mentiuoned being a dedicated anti EWAR platform so comparing to the superhornet aint even fair. all elese however tomcat owns. uhm. Just because the beta will be huge doesnt EVER justify the ALpha costing 80$. Most of us are doing the smart thing, waiting 2 months and bubying when discounted. Most of the etailers offering free shipping will most likely drop price after 2 months...thats when they can start price slashing. Only reason it is 80$ is because robotech.com is 80$ msrp BUT after 2 months other etailers can sell for less. And so the wqaiting game begins.

In lethal skies and AFDS the JSF planes are featured. However, I am not surprised lockheed won the competition. I never really remember why they did win but nonetheless I think it will make a good discussion. you all know I don'ty like the way JSF is going, it started out well and well to me it is going in the wrong direction. NOnetheless I think it would be a good debate for X-32(both versions...delta and final) vs X-35 X-32 had the chin intake which I like and the X-35 looked heavily based on the F-22. Ideally JSF should have been a large sized mujltiroole strike fighter, bigger planes can do multirole quite well(F-14/15/Su-30MKI/35) and not have many sacrifices compared to something like a super hornet. BTW i read on a list that upcoming dragon warbirds include SUPER HORNETS!! That and tomcats make me want to get some dragon! Hopefulyl trhey do a vietnam series with F-4B's and CRUSADERS!

David, and others who like the dragon warbirds. I looked at HLJ.com and they have not a LINEART colorgraph pic, but a pic of the F-15C gorrilaz warbird! the Dragon 1/72 one!! No missles on it But I imagine it at least comes with sidewinders. It does look nice but the pic is too small to see everything. Canopy has a rust tint like the strike eagle released a few months back. Oh yea they stopped preorders too. Must be selling like hotcakes!@ There is also this thing called world aircraft collection by takara, its a box of trade F-15s I think that come in different colors like hiko kyodotai( i think all are represented) and air force schems. Looks interesting. ALso. ANy of you play the lethal skies or lethal skies 2 games on ps2? ANd how are they like? THey are going for mad cheap in VA and I am wondering if I should pick it up. THe reviews I have read range from the 6-7 out of 10 scores. ANd the video looked nice as well as multiplayer and COCKPITS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD THEY HAVE FUNCTIONNING COCKPITS!! IT scored higher than AFDS in many pklaces.

I'm not sure how this works, as Lock-On is based off Flanker 2.0, the planes existing in Flanker 2.0 work nearly the exact same way they in Lock-On, and the American additions have even more complicated avionics and modelling than the jets of the previous game. No realism feature has been dropped in Lock-On that existed in Flanker 2.0. ddue are you sure? I have not played but from what I imagine that would take a lot of memory to accurately incorporate different avionics, HUD displays and flight models all in one game. For example what I mean is that the flanker in lock on might not have as much detail in the prspective components as in the main flanker 2.0 sim.

any game from SSI like flanker and lock on suffers ffrom memory probs..you need a real high end to run it. LOck on is very hardcore.. think ofUSAF with UPPED realism. Its not as hardcore as flanker but think of it more as 1/2 flanker with a lot more planes. Fighter pilot was relatively cheap(20$) and yes made by Janes and EA. Maybe like a pc v ersion of ace combat only a lot less missions and a lot less fighters to use.

Well I take on the stealths for more money and so i can whup some ass. Cheng, on the PC the closest I can think of is USAF. And fighters anthology. USAF and IAF have minimal realism but are far more realistic than ace combat, but not as diehard as say janes F-15(NOTHING even close coincidentally made by same company too! ) USAF will do you well. Fighter pilot is another by same company but more closer to asce combat out of all the pc sims.

GOOD! For an F-14A I expect the high viz awesome 70s era schemes, VF-84 and VF-1. THose 2 color schemes are my FAVE F-14A! Now red grim reaper CO 101 would be AWESOME even as a limited edition since it looks so badass. VF-103 F-14B will rock as well. I can also assure you all that a superhornet won't even look half as good with the squadrons its replacing the tomcat in............it seems that the squadrons barely paint it......grey here, crap its the CAG! ok a dab of color there BAM! Tomcat will always look good in high viz............now a super hornet? dont think so. DIamondback tomcats look awesome. Dmanback super horn ets look p-lain. I always think that the phantom and the tomcat had the best high viz schemes in the navy EVER, that and the crusader.

I tink 3. Last mission is usual ace combat blow up the fortresss type gig. THe worst a2g is whiskey corridor. takes long as hell to complete and you get ambushed by a bunch of stealths in one corner/

I usually vary the planes I use, one time taking on yellow squadron in a phantom for kicks and owning them,. Took a while but I still did it. In the X02 its extremely easy, my record so far is 22 seconds. FOr taking out the whole squadron in trial mission. sing the X-02 and Super flanker for every mission makes the game boring and easy, so thats why I use the older planes most of the time,. Its more challenging in ace mode where flak ki.ls fast and one missle shot kills you automatically. Yes air combat was the first entry into this series ace combat 2 was the 2nad and maye have incorporated the name change to signify a better game within the sequel worthy for "aces" Sountrack for part 4 should be at shatteredskies.net in terms of Ace combat 2, the BEST ACE COMBAT SOUNDTRACK EVER, good luck its much harder to find.

Next up we have the A-10 shot And more of the tomcat. THere is one eagle shot as well. A-10 is in grey, and F-18 is barely seen but it is in aggressor blue camo colors. I love the tomcat!!!!MArkings are excellent and a dragon F-14B warbird with that kind of mid viz color scheme in jolly rogers would ROCK!!! Hopefully they make an F-14A as well in VF-1 WOLFPACK COLORS! painting will be scanned when dry

While TAW was a great sim it wasn't always entirely acurate. Right now the F(/A)-22 doesn't have an IRST (though Lockheed aparently has a stealthy emplacement designed for it when/if the Air Force decides to install one), and though it's stealth would be greatly reduced at such short ranges it wouldn't be useless. It's exhausts are still desinged to deaden it's IR signature, and it's paint is designed to emit IR radiation at a frequency that dispates rapidly in an atmosphere. That and it's still marginally effective radar stealth would make maintaining a lock tough for the Flanker. I do think you're right about the Raptors energy advantage, 80,000 lbs of combined thrust is certainly handy in a dogfight. yea I was talking more on terms of a dogfight. WIth guns an heat seekers. I think the raptor will have helmet mounted site enabled as well. TAW couldnt have been very accurate, I dont think the US will ever let anyone outside the air force high ups have information highly accurate to the accurate bird. NOnetheless its still the best F022 sim and a GREAT add on to F-22ADF. With planes in mind, get ready folks, in this very thread I will show my air show pics oceana 97 and my painting based on one of them for homework.

That bothered me too. The first time I flew the Stonehenge mission, I completed it only to be hopelessly outflown by the Yellow Flankers afterwards. I tried like 4 times and said screw it, I'm using a fighter. the best "striker"(strike fighter) to use with balance in stonehenge are the following. -F-15E -F-2A -F-22 All 3 will give you the manueverability needed to take on yellows after destroying stonehenge, not to mention their ASM(air to surface missles) are effective. I was able to take out yellow 4 a minute after she showed up in my F-2A. ANd whata beautiful sight it was...........pull up, roll 180 pull down, 180 again, 45 degree bank right, pull up slightly at low speed, 2 missle shot BAM. Yellow 4 got OWNED
