MAGNETS FOR BETA CONNECTION?LOL OH EL POH EL good god that would jsut result in the FEW RARE MPC apha,s breaking due to weak connection to beta and nosediving on floor!!! -
you guys totally missed out on the whole engine achilles heel. Much like the TF30 powered F-14A',s the VF-0 is prone to engine stalls which could in teh tomcat result in loss of control and into a flat spin. Possible in VF-0 i imagine as the whole premise was REALLY mirroring the F-14A program. For those who do not know, the F-14A was set to get the ATE engine being developed with the air force bu thte navy backed out aznd the F-110 GE engines were not fitted until the middle of the tomcats operational career. Pujt it this way. VF-0=F-14A VF-1=F-14D THe VF-1 is everything the VF-0 was SUPPOSED to be. Vf-1's weren't ready to they needed something to combat the SV-51s/ PLus the nuke engines weren't ready either for the VF-1/ VF-0 is more proimitive looking though a lot of newbies say its the other way around thinking its way more advanced. Sory but the only advanced thing is the HTS that targets the missles on Roy's helmet. Other than that It is big, bulky, bulges hanging everywqhere, not good drag wise. And no its not really like thje tomcat and hornet Tomcat could outspeed hornet and take the fight on its own hands, hornet cant do that unless it gets the turkeyt in real real real low speed. ITs got a lot of drag working against it. Besiudes tomcat is the BETTER PLANE. LOL and the VF-1? better than theVF-0/ So the tomcat vs hornet scenario don't really cut it. due to more reliable engines VF-1 can dogfight with no throttle restrictions. So yes it can dogfight well and its less drag too...and slimmer and sleeker...so yea better.

sadness is the fact that toynami bears the sole license, therefore we have to put up with this crap if we buy it kuz we have no choice!! there IS no other company who can make these legally! -
Perfect Grade Strike Gundam
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to jonwayne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
i wouldnt call amuro a pussy he was actually pretty bad ass and awesome. IF u gave him time and stuck with teh series. PG's may sell fast but bandai always remakes them faster than yamato will ever remake any more 1.48s. COuld have something to do with PG's being kits having to be built thus eliminating the need for assembly workers to build the kit for you. No doubt in my mind that they sell fast but I am always assuming they get reproduced in greater quantities and stuff and during more times than the yamato valks. For example the RX-78 PG gundam is still readily available in most sttores compared to the first yamato 1/48s. and the PG came out a few years ago. -
LOL take that ateliar sai!!!!!!! Hory froating head probably shot him with eye lightning bolts like dfrylok from aqua team. The toy looks MUCH MUCH better now. The hobby japan and dengeki spreads will solidify my decision on whether to buy or skip. BTW isn't wonderfest summer 2004 coming up?

Perfect Grade Strike Gundam
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to jonwayne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
well...it is a PERFECT grade after all....hhehe. USually perfect grades kick all kinds of ass. All internal ABS frame with metal rod pistons....DROOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL damn it I might need to get this thing. GUys what is more durable, a perfect grade gundam kit or a 1/48 yamato valkyrie? I am not surprised strike is a perfect grade model next in series. I mean it is a cool design and I like it because it is reminscent of the RX-78...hell okawara designed it and I actually like it still. Hell he designed both those designs and its a good homage...albeit i dont like the character whjo flies it too much(me diehard UC) -

heh YEA that was pretty stupid....as well as "its a mig 29 oh shi*!" heh but its an F-4. I forgot that was doug who died in part 2. Part 4...eh...trainer planes? The only good part is when doug blows stuff up at the end but....hes all warped and holding grudges and crap. Whata crappuy reunion. Iron eagle III was good though. -
OOOOO!~!!! THis toy is like a dragon models warbirds model now! On dragon models, they use detachable landing gear and doors instead of retractable gear,.....a way to stay accurate in landing and in flight modes without using retractable gear. ON the VF-0, the landing gear PLUGS into the legs and nose, but if you want the gear off, you simply put panels in place in the holes as to not make it obvious!!! NO wonder those things were always sticking out! OK not too obvious I mean. Cleverly done. NOw we really need to see how the transformation is. Hopefully Hobby dengeki does a spread for it. Still wondering if the shoulder hinges are seperate or stay attached the whole time.

one I think is called "chasing the angels" while the other when the lil kiddies are running amuck stealing all the secret maps and crap is "we're not gonna take it" by twisted sister...i think. Sorry those might not be the ones u are looking for but they seemed popular enough. HE does play "chasing the angels" a whole bunch thoygh. -
isnt the fighter the VF-0A grey cannon fodder colors? The tail fin has light grey trim. And the color scheme is similar with no chest stripe. Perhaps 2 versions are set for release upon toy launch?

NEW Official MPC Thread!!!
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to FRED THE FRENCH's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Dude try reading through out every page of this whole thread. I know hope lost then was regained when the Alpha was announced. Now reading the things here now, and toynami;s track record with fans(which isn't very good, you'd really have had to be around here for the last 3 years or so to really know) and their constant noncoherent quality basically leaves all of us wondering if we are getting lemons. Justbecause they have the sole licenses does not mean they are all of a sudden saviors. We all want better hell we all know some companies would CERTAINLY DO BETTER, hell from what I hear the gakken aside from the knees is a lot more durable, and for them to hype it this much, it's just sad. and constructive criticism? I hate to break it to you man but we all tried that with the first MPC's. That did NOT work. Why in hell it took till vol 4 of the MPC to get good ratchets astonishes and puzzles me. Why the MPC is deemed king by rt.com with easily floppy legs yet the bandai has legs that will HOLD pose. Why people go onto say the 1/48 is a model and the MPC is meant to be played with when the MPC UNLIKE the 1/48, flops around like a noodle. Man if I had a digicam I would show you all what I am talking about. To me, TOYNAMI CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM=DELAYED RESPONSE. And you all really think there will be a BETA? I hope so but I really doubt it. ANd if they charged 80$ for the alpha just imagine how much they will for the humongous BETA. Most of us here don't give a damn for scale, we just wanted something cool and big enough to replace our beloved huge ass gakkens. NOw what we got is basically lemons and there is literally only a handful without something wrong. IN fact I hear more breakages with thsi thing than I did with the /60 VF-1. Hell this sounds more like its toynami's version of "tab B". nd a future run to solve problems? Sorry no offense but this damn thing has been delayed for what a freaking year? I think that's long enough to do enough play testing and r/d work to determine the weak points of this and solve it. A future run shouldn't adress tehse problems it already SHOULD HAVE been addressed. Sorry but for 80$ you really shouldn't be wondering if you got a lemon or not, it better damn be a high quality anime product. But unfortunately seems are brethren are having VERY VERY mixed results. I feel for those who have got bad ones. -
NEW Official MPC Thread!!!
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to FRED THE FRENCH's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
YES RATCHETS ARE VERY ALIEN AND FOREIGN TO TOYNAMI! This is the MAIN reason bandai's 1/55 can never be taken on by the MPC. ALL MPC's have weird ratchets that don't line up or even work right. The ratchets on the Rick VF-1J's hips are bullsh*t. Loose as hell and the legs flop like legs on frogs. I am not surprised they just added diecast "just cuz" and the arms are loose. WHoever is designing these with the diecast content really doesn't know what he's doing. I mean seriously even the bandai 1/55s never had diecast in their lower arms and hell the binaltechs and masterpiece prime don't either. NOte to toynami *diecast in FEET AND HIPS/TORSO IS MUCH BETTER THAN ON LOWER ARMS...ESPECIALLY WHEN U KNOW GRAVITY WORKS AGAINST U WITH DIECAST ON LOWER ARMS AND.....NOT PUTTING RATCHETS INTO A JOINT THAT SUPPORTS A DIECAST APPENDAGE IS VERY VERY VERY STUPID.* -
Yep...SURVEY SAYS! LOL. Man I can feel it coming, alternator subline of jets...DRooooooolllllllll. Dude a 1.48 Su-37 would be beastyly and very very awesome. Not to mention not too big nad certainly not too small. I'd love Mig 29's and SU-37s in alternators 1/48 scale. I know that MCD/Boeing is tricky with licenses but what the heck, maybe the russians won't care if we use their designs instead LOL.

doesnt seem like it was produced. MOre like was supposed to be produced but canned. Right plane wrong time, like the Northrop F-20 tigershark. Maybe the origin of the gripen rose from the ashes of this plane. but who knows. Hey guys anyone know about the Singfapore A-4S and A-4R for argentina? -
I think we all do, but right now it just looks like takara is focusing on cars only. I guess the reason they are doing this is because the majority of the characters are cars. So it looks like they can milk that until it's totally dry and that could be for a while! Bobe, I wouldn't rule out HAStak focusing on just cars only right now, a survey was passed out at this year's OFTCC asking fans what other alt modes would they like to see BESIDES cars! THis includes military vehicles...and DUH jets! HAsbro would be very stupid to ignore the demand for jet alternators. Anyhoo I keep getting flamed for this every now and then on the tf boards, but seriously knight26 brings up a very valid request. I keep getting deadlocked into flame wars about alternator jets and keep having to defend my position. Being that jets were IN the survey means perhaps that hasbro is looking towards more alt modes to bring into alternators and perhaps we could get a subline of jets and military vehicles...which me and many fans including just about all of us here @MW want. anyhoo these are the outcomes of my debates. 1-very few actually want an all car line. Howeever a subline would please jet and car fans since the car line would remain seemingly "untainted" and us jet fans FINALLY GET A FREIGGIN ULTIMATE VERSION OF STARSCREAM FULLY POSEABL AND REALITIC AS EITHER AN F-22, F-15, OR SU37(THE LATTER HHHEHHEHE...A DREAM) 2-a LOT if not MOST of us want alternator/BT JETS. LIKe i said it would be stupid for hasbro to ignore this. Worried that all jets are mostly decepticons? HEll throw in skyfire/jetfire as an F-14D and BAM ALREADY a jet that would sell REAL WELL, and something for the kiddies to use to fight the seekers. 3-The diecast jet market is just as big as the diecast car market. Again hasbro would be dumb to ignore this. IN order to market thse scale MUST be broken and a seperate scale must be used for jets as 1/24 would be real huge for mass market transformers. JETS that is. Maybe 1/72 @ smallest, 1/48 preferred. And crap, masterpiece prime was 1.24 scale presumably, had diecast and was at the 70$ mark., 1/48 jets in robot mode could be same size but all plastic would bring the price down considerably. Add into the account that alternators cars are in the deluxe size class currently which leaves open the notiuon that.. 4-BIGGER and a smaller basic size class could potentially unravel in the future! and knight trust me u aint the onlyt one! I been flamed many a times for wanting alternator jets!! MANY!! *im telln you guys, the minute Bt/Alt jets come out all the haters will ride hasbro all day in joy, and come up with some ratiional bullshi* as to why they still think cars would be better*

FRIGGIN' BEAUTIFUL!! Dude it's about TIME someone pointed out the flaws on this thing~!! This is not to say that others have not, but It's awesome to see fellow members give us advance warning on this stuff. EXO's breakage, your detailed review on all the bad parts, and many others opinion's have convinced me that this thing has not FULLY escaped toynami's bad qc reputation, only bettered it a little. It kills me that they have the sole license since I am sure bandai(if they ever make something other than gundam) could surely make something diecast for an alpha and better than toynami. This toy isn't as glamour and glitz as many others may think, the LOOSE arms that EXo and many many others have brought up not just on this board, but OTHERS, is a TERRIBLE thing especially on a mecha toy. What the hell. Even the VF-1 MPC didn't have floppy arms! Hell 20$ transformer alternators don't have floppy arms. Grrr.... Anyways a few months back I was able to nab a Roy Fokker MPC for 10$ MIB as a delisted toy at gamestop. SO it comes to show. wait a LONG ass time, and prices DO go down! EXo, sorry to hear about your breakage, that part really should be made of diecast. -

EXo , how floppy are the arms? AS in floppy as MPC VF-1 legs floppy? Or floppy as in has ratchets-but are-loose-as-hell-and can;t-hold-pose floppy? Will it hold position or fall due to weight of gun? ANd also is this due to loose ratchets? Also are the elbows floppy too? -

that toy looks great but no matter what everyone says, I really think at least ON of the 4 alphas to be released will get discounted!~! SOmehow that is. Anyhoo it looks great but as always flawed. EXO, pare your review and pics RULE! FIrst time I saw it with measurements!! SO its about 7 inches tall. Not bad. EXO your review ruled man thanks for pointing out a lot of the things on the MPC alpha! Hey guys are the arms floppy on the MPC alpha or is it just a few cases oif bad arm QC? Also how does this compare to teh VF-1MPC? Similar in quality or did the MPC alpha make it hard for you to believe its from the same company who made the VF-1 MPC? -
HEY what material are the hands made out of? ABS,PVC or styrene? And do the fingers gtet loose over time?(Worried about gun and saber usage) Also how durable is this cimpared to a 1/48 or similar all plastic toy?

DUDE please link or post pics of the dragonly from hell dual engine afterburning VTOL!! that wil KICK ASS!! I think I have seen that somewhere in jane's! And yes the harrier is hard to fly. It's hard enouigh hovering without spinning out of control in Jane's fighter's anthology/USNF97 but hell imagine how ahrd it is in REAL LIFE! Stealth takes away a lot of fun sometimes lol. And while we are at it boys.......can ANYONE find pics of ASF-14,quickstrike tomcat? I have seen ST21 in my books and also @MATS., But quickstrike and ASF-14....seen it once I believe...looked like a delta winged tomcat at the front with swing wings....but forgot where.... Also those who played airforce delta storm on xbox what does the F-14G hellcat II look like? and for sake of comparison F-18L vs F/A-18F vs YF-17 hornet superfestivus fight time!
