  1. Been in dev for like 3 years. I would show u a pic but i forget where it was. It used to be on gpxd.com forums I believe but that forum is dead now and there is a new one but no link to the A-10 I believe. 21st century was hesitant to release it but it looked AWESOME. Suposedly last time I heard they were still working on it.
  2. All the BBI 1/18 toys have working undercarriage. So do the WWII 21st century ultimate soldier XD planes, and the upcoming F-4 and F-104 from 21st. And their long behind A-10. Knight did you ever see the proto for the 1/18 A-10? Also, the BBI P-51 just came out and they say it RIVALS the 21st XD version.
  3. That might b true. Across the boards I read, a lot of people are saying in the tomcat community, VFA-41 black aces is the ONLY squadron happy about transitioning to the super bug. They also said VF-154 black knights were not too happy and a bunch of others don't want to transfer either. And most of the converted squadrons have crap decals now since they are using the tomcat templates. VFA-102 loooks bland and so does jolly rogers.
  4. me three!! If he was really speaking out he would be like "man F**** those b****ng fanboys, man these toys cost SOOOO MUCH to make, I mean those grease stains are love stains, I mean hell if Doogie houser can get away with it in harold and Kumar so can we!! only this is real life baby not a movie!!! You can feel our grease!!, man and like robotech is so awesome and u know rick and lisa live unlike in japan, and irigai narigai is like so authentic and the haters don't know them, man 80$ is cheap compared to your 70$ MPC primes and 20$ alternators...man we got DIECAST, and we are like yea a young company, and yea! yea ! yea!!!"
  5. Well every jolly roger's plane had a different type of decal placement. The phantoms and tomcats of VF-84 looked remarkably different but retained the skull and crossbones. That's what we are saying about the super bug, it should have superbug specific jolly roger's decal placement, not a tomcatrehash.
  6. kinda old, i brought htis up int eh MPC thread last week. And plus, hes just rephrasing stuff toynami has told us over n over again.
  7. Neova, The designers or one of the product managers mentioned the drop test rule over @ the official gijoe collector's convention in florida over summer. It isn't hasbro's rule they are bound to it somehow by safety laws and the immense bullshi* that follows it. The transformers team also tried importing metroplex and fort max as reissues but BOTH failed the box drop test also. I think the drop tests are stupid and hasbro would be STUPID to not release the skystriker especially since they have hinted at it ever since 2001 with the prominent fly overs in the commercials and since it is THEE most popular joe plane. And if you guys remember, yamato DOES do drop tests. Graham said it a few years back in one of the prelim 1.60 VF-1 reviews, about how they kicked it around in the hong kong yamato toy office and threw it against the wall in box. I doubt joe will get more realistic but I DO hope BBi makes a 1/18 scale F-14. HUGE and well over 100$ but shooot for that size it would be WORTH IT. BTW fore you 1/18 jet fans, 21st century is making an F-4 phantomII and F-104 starfighter.
  8. Said the guy with the name of F14Tomcat and an Avatar of an F-22 LOL. I wonder that too. On a personal note, I think the JR's should just make an all new color scheme, retain the skull and crossbones, but make it something especially for the super bug. The comment before earlier about it being weird conforming to a tomcat color placement is dead on. It just doesn't look right.
  9. Oh i just flipped through never bought. There is nude and sex scenes with the girl in the manga though.
  10. oh THAT'S the title. Knew I said it too short!! I found it at my local comic store but now they are sold out after this sale they had(manga wasn't selling that well there). I thnk I also found it at waldenbooks or barnes n nobles. The characters aren't too cartoony, and I honestly didn't care too much about the story(bout some mysterious enemy ace, I could already tell area88 had much better plot), but the way the planes are drawn, AMAZING!! so realistic too,.
  11. Rule of thumb: more than the iranian govt will admit, less than the 100+klill ratio by numerous sources. The iranian govt for a number of reasons doesn't really say how manyh, they admit to only a fraction of the confirmrd kills for it for whatever reason. The iraqi's don't like admitting they were shot down by it, but they do like saying how they shot down 2 with Mirage F.1'S. I believe acig.org had the official kill tallies from both sides. The iraqi's did coin phrases for the tomcat though, like signals to avoid and whatnot, and some pilots from desert storm say they never worried about mig attacks(intruder/corsair crews) since the iraqi's always turned tail once they had the AWG-9 warning on their RWR. But basically with iranian tomcat kills its really hard to tell who is right at all. But some pilots I believe did contact acig.org with their accounts with some kills. But as it stands I believe the most highly used fighter of that war was the F-4.
  12. I dunno thazt would suck, it would be like an oversized F-6D missleer. I LOVE shintani's work. Styalized simply yet very effective and he's a jet fan too. NOTHIN wrong with that!!
  13. I don't think the MIG-31 has too many bragging rights. F-14 and F-15 don't need CFT's, F-15 DOES use them but it doesn't take too much away and blends in real well to the point where it's not too noticable. F-14 and F-15 got bragging rights for TONS of stuff. Especially the F-14 in iranian hands. I mean the western world lists total kills for the tomcat as 4-5(4Su/MIG, 1 helicopter) but in terms of the iranians they have obtained far more kills, its sad that even in iran proper documentation to confirm these are hard to find. That one new boook by osprey sheds a lot of light on it though, Too bad it's hard for me to find.
  14. Ok, that's just assinine. We had toys like that when we were kids. They were called "Tonka." But to expect all airplane toys (and why ONLY airplane toys?) to survive that? Good lord, people are stupid these days. That's EXACTLY what I was thinking too. Everyone @JBL KNOWS me for being a skystriker freak. I brought it up like the plague across that forum when I first joined. Read through there, and you'll see. But see for you guys this is a benefit, if IT will be reissued, someone there will surely tell me and I'll spread the news here. Got my hopes up high as hell when I saw a topic about it here. ANY toy in the market right now, like hasbro's energon galvatron toy and even their starscream reissues, I mean if you drop those from 8ft those things will break all over the place. I dunno hasbro has some STUPID excuses, and if it's not them making the rules, than whoever it is is paranoid as hell. WHAT kid is tall enough to hold a skystriker 8-10ft above the ground? And woouldn't a collector have better sense than to be putting small breakable pieces in their mouths? UGH. I just want that damn thing, and knowing hasbro HAS the mold...... Pat, as far as the night raven, some molds were lost in india and brazil and were irrepairable. Some molds are NOT to be cleaned with saltwater since it erodes the steel, unfortunately some countries that the molds were leased to DON'T listen. For those interested in the tomohawk, that thing is lost too. least half of it I believe.
  15. kaouru shintai is brilliant. I appluad him for doing an air combat manga. Most significiant in japan I believe. There is another manga out right now. didn't recieve that much attention, but it is called "Red Devil". It's about some ace mercenary pilot I believe, I didn't know what was going on in the manga, I read it mainly because the fighters in there were rendered so well! Mainly airforce and land based fighters, (Mirage 2000, MIG-29, SU-27/37, KFIR, F-16, F-15, F-22). I believe the girl (red devil) mainly flies a MIG-29. I couldn't believe someone was actually making a new jet manga with REALISTICALLY DRAWN FIGHTERS!! Note the last manga with fighter planes was Area88 and that was years ago. But still good.
  16. GUys. hold your breath, As you can tell I'm actually on that thread. here's how it all startted. Someone who used to work@TRU came by and his old manager told him there was a skystriker listing in his computer for mid november. Some who still work there looked into the computer, and came up with NOTHING. They checked numerous times. So it was probably just a word of mouth mistake, I've been trying to find out for the longest time if they could have it out but I dunno. Hasbro has a new drop test rule, and all airplane toys have to pass an 8ft drop test. You drop a skystriker upside down from that height and trust me it WILL break. I think the rule is outright stupid, but latlely I haven't been hearing news about it. THen again hasbro has been on the low for a while on future stuff...less and les protos are coming out compared to the past 2 years. So who the hell knows. If anything toys r us will get it. BTW night raven mold is lost....not lost as in can't find but DESTROYED. And flagg can only be reissued if it is bought by the retailer in bulk and would have to be 250$.
  17. WHOA. I'm usually on top off stuff like this(notorious around this one forum in the joe community JBL) when it comes to the skystriker. If you read this form joebattlelines and if this rumor was from 2-3 months ago it might be FALSE. The release date was this month and the other thing is that when others who work @TRU tried to confirm it they had nothing. I HOPE this is true. Please provide your source!! Want this damn toy so bad.
  18. Man it's certainly decent but lacks glamour man. I mean fuel tanks might look good on it, but if they are trying to make an impression on all of us, they should have bigger stripes like the 80's jolly roger's cats. Now those ROCKED. And insignias based on VF-84's phantoms would be kind of neat too.
  19. Dangard you made him look better!!!! THAT is more like it!! LOL man his stock colors should have been given to meister. Still a good remold to me, definite BUY!!
  20. How about underneath? Or perhaps start furtherback after the wingmounts? I don't know much about aerodynamicc physics but this would look "right" to me. Then again David said the block 60's got higher rate engines but it's to counter the drag imposed by the CFT and other things that added the weight. To me it makes it look less "sexy" than the F-16 block 50 and below. Anyone see the F-2 +? Or something like that, it was in a japanese ad at a aerospace show overseas and had a bunch of armnaments as well as CFT's as well. Well doesn't look too good for the F-2's future anyways as it seems the japanese govt is not too happy with their FSX and says the F-15J can do the same job for less money, so they cancelld some orders for the F-2.
  21. HWR got any pics? Last time I saw a mud hen like that, it was in my Jane's F-15 sim. But that was many ages ago. The mud hen's got a great payload...but let's ssee this... F-111 vs F-15E For sure the F-15E's got better self defense capabilities. But how about long range strike? Perhaps the F-111 has a better speed advantage, since it can carry some of its payload internally. And for that matter,... F-105D vs F-111A. Strike role. Presumably, the thud has better A2A self defence(more manueverable?) And now that the F-15E has been brought up F-15C vs F-15E A2A. How well do they compare and contrast in close in knife fighting and in long range intercept? Which would be better. I know F-15E has 9g limit and airframe stressed for it as well as higher rate engines, and that the CFT can be removed, but how well does it perform against the C?
  22. DO blocks go by letter? Like is the block 30 still an F-16C?
  23. wow really>? So it's A2A performance is dismal or, not as good as F-16A?(seems everyone like the F-16A or Cb50 as their fav A2A falcon). I just think the Block 60's look cool. THe SU-35 was originally called the SU-27M, and from what WAP magazine said, seemingly worried the shi* out of european NATO allies. I think it is a dramatic step above the baseline Su-27, even over the SU-27SMK. The cockpit alone is a massive improvement. Too bad in AC4/5 they make it insignifigant once you buy the SU-37, it's sad really. But then again in reality the SU-30MKI outdoes both of them. What I am interested in a lot now however is the SU-32IFN/34 series.
  24. Yes but banned twice. Anyhoo lets do a battle of the stealths... F-117 vs JSF day one war, strike capability. and then.... I was reading World Air Power's free book with F-22 ADF by DID, and it said that a lot of new europlanes were made to counter the thread poised by the Su-35. So with that... Typhoon vs Su-35 and Rafale vs SU-35. and for kicks, F-16F vs SU-35
  25. Yea...has nothing to with the fact that the F-14 is outdated compared to the F/A-18 or the fact that the geopolitical makeup of the world is different from what it was 20 years ago. Having a fleet organized as it was in the '80s is outdated thinking. Our whole premise is all about a inferior plane replacing a superior plane. The F-14 was better than the F-4 in every which way. THe F/A-18F? good but not the IDEAL, replacement. Now if it was something ideal and BETTER in every which way, then we wouildn't be bitching. I'm not a huge aviation buff but I remember hearing somewhere that the Tomcats have a very large amount of upkeep time spent on them... basically the flight hours they log before retrofitting is much much less than that of the Hornets. THat's true but see when I think of airplanes for the military I think about capability. Capability counts the most and a succeeding plane SHOULD be more capable in EVERY role that the exiting plane can do. Regardless of maintanibility and so forth., I mean don't get me wrong, if we had a big, stealthy, super manueverable, long range naval multiroler that had the punch of the F-14, and rangee and bombload of the A-6, I really wouldn't be complaioning. And I don't hate the super hornet, I just don't think it should be replacing tomcats.
