  1. I'm glad the defaul;t scheme was the wolfpack of 8th TFW. Someone with both the falcon and hornet please let me know if the stores are interchangeable. What I hate about air force planes is that they normally don't have that many glamorous planes, almost all grey. BTW did anyone pick up the blue angels BBI 1/18 F/A-18? It's been out for a few weeks. Hopefully future falcon releases have some high viz, like tigermeet, hell if they make a big spine F-16D israeli falcon I will be IMMENSELY happy. (darn it someone needs to make some big 1/18 2 seaters....like the MIG-29M2).
  2. Yea I couldn't find any updates either. I'm currently trying to confirm whether or not it is actually being used for RFB competition. since some sites say yes while others are not sure.
  3. Fatalist, try badcataviation.com I think they are the main seller for 21st and BBI 1/18. You save 5$ by ordering from there instad of buying @TRU. I wonder if weapons on the F-16 toy are swappable with that on the F-16. Hmmm..If so I might buy both them suckers eventually.
  4. hm. BBI offers some stock F-16 w/ANG waterslide decals. I believe there are 8 sets. I can live with the innaccuracies inherent with an F-14A release...as long as they do the VF-1 and VF-84 decals some justice!! But I hav a feeling a VANDY-1` is more likely.
  5. Oh, of course!!!! It's just I got a soft side for the VF-1 wolfpack high viz F-14A. That and the VF-84 high viz jolly roger are my FAVES~!! That and the F-14B GE-F110DFE super tomcat testbed. COlors on those rock as well. I think wolfpack tomcats are really overlooked. Them and the jolly rogers have the best color schemes I have ever seen in the navy. Oh yea Vandy-1 too.
  6. ah i see. Did you guys ever see the trainer version of the A-4SU? It is awesome. It looks weird but I am a fan of those dual stairstep cockpits. Anyone see the trailer for the IMAX red flag movie? it is SWEET. Precision flying probably better in air cinematics than topgun. And I doubt it is scripted. The germans and israeli;s are in there too, with tornados and wild weasel barak F-16D''s (one of my favs).
  7. fatalist there are sightings o this@TRU for 79.99$. Also. I apologize knight, I meant to say knight earlier but got confused with mike somehow. LOL sorry man. Perhaps we can start a peition for larger fighters....21st century is the main competition now and they are working on a MIG-15, F-86, F-104 and F-4. Knowing this BBI's gotta do something t counter... I would LOVE a super hornet(F model jolly rogers/black aces) and a F-14B bombcat. Hell super tomcat with all the fixings. Or high viz 70s era VF-1 wolfpack F-14A. DROOL
  8. Mike that is EXACTLY what I wanted!! THAN K YOU for the thorough review!! People are having hope that BBI makes an A-10 since 21st has problems doing so as it seems. I want russian planes especially a flanker. I cannot wait for your pics!! I bet they will be awesome. And I agree with the weapon loadout, I like the viper 1/18 loadout better because it is reminiscent of late 80s viuper loadouts and it makes senses and makes it truly likea multirole plane.
  9. and Knight, this one's for you!!!! From teamski's webshots its the proto A-10 http://community.webshots.com/photo/127087...200114956RloaPA

Also very likely a FW-190A and still a chance of a Zero. This is not mentioning repaints of existing types, which are numerous. This plus BBI equals a busy, happy and expensive '05. Back to top
  11. I think the A-4Su lacks afterburner though, so the F-5E might still have a supersonic advantage...though by all means if the superhawk has beter acceleration it might be able to beat the F-5E. Hands down though the similar powered F-20 w/afterburner would probably decimate both.
  12. No pics. It was announced during summer I believe.
  13. thanks a whole bunch man!!!!! Man so tempting, but which to buy!!!!!!!Arrr.....I love naval planes, but the falcon is pure awesome....man if only the hornet was a supet F model too...
  14. HMMMMMM. Man if they were putting in avionics, than obviously this thing wasn't just for DISPLAY!! Oh man I'm excited at the possibilities of this. And a upgrade to avionics can't possibly be too hard. I'd love to see a tandem seated YF-23RB replacing F-15E's and kicking arse as well. it would look so beautiful and you can tell by it's size that it would be an effective bomber,. (hell it would be a better replacement for the tomcat than the superhornet is also lol)
  15. that doesn't prove anything. Just because the majority likes it does not mean EVERYONE will be happy with it. I think we all agree it's got GREAT design but HORRIBLE and rather INCONSISTENT quality. It's not fair that only a few people out of whole lot get a MPC with no problems. For 80$ there SHOULD be no problems. And they can't say toynami is a young company, they've had 3 yars to change up quality control and yet we're still here not knowing if we are getting lemons or not.
  16. Knight do you got any pics of your 1/18 hornet? I am contemplating buying one....but can't decide between that and the falcon!!!!!! Could you give us a mini review? How durable is it? Does it bllow gijoe jets out of the water in terms of playability? Would you recommend it to a 20 yr old fighter jet fanatic hardcore who draws? Is it worth the near 100$ pricetag? Does it take up a crapload of room? And can the wings and whatnot detach and reattach for storing and moving?(in case you take it to one house to another)
  17. Guys have we gotten any more news about the YF-23 being refurbished for the RB competition? Did grumman really take it out to refurbish or was it just taken out to be put in a museum?
  18. HELL yes. I just wish it was bigger, its at the 10$ pricepoint right now...but then again, it would fit RIGHT in with the same sized starscream F-22 from energon~!!!!!! And the YAK-141/JSF hybrid thrust figure from armada... DOGFIGHT!!!
  19. Uh yea, this is the new transformers mainline series for next year and bigbadtoystore, tmpanime.com and others are offering preorders.
  20. The F-20 is a sexy beast. Man if only the US cleared it for export and got more orders.......Man my country needs some serious help & I once heard they were inquiring about buying tigerhawks when sales were offered, but northrop did not get much so they called it off. I wonder though, if sales could constitute it in export, could the F-20 possibly be brought back to the drawing boards and be put into production? I mean some countries, like the PHILIPPINES can't afford the falcon but the tigershark on the otherhand, some of the capability for a more "economical price" Not to mention it is just awesome. I did read about those 2 accidents and NOONE faults the plane at all. (unlike some F-14 accidents).
  21. They should hire Jon. Hell he did the legioss model out of a labor of love, he wasn't paid to do it and look what he came up with. Imagine what he could do with the BETA. I fear they wil not do the BETA though. Probably some serious balance issues as well as the immaturity and stunted growth stage of toynami as a whole.
  22. If anything a F-20 would totally annhilate both, And did any of you see the preview for the IMAX red flag movie>? Looks AWESOME!! Film is sweet!
  23. I think the F-5 would win. It's got the speed, so it's got enough excess energy to zoom or outturn the A-4. Now if it is an A-4 Mongoose, or A-4AR, then it gets a lil tricky but too my knowledge no A-4 is supersonic, and I would assume the F-5's got higher acceleration too.
  24. The apache had the same problem. i don't mind it since it is a toy and it can be painted over. However I DID find some disturbing news. According to one site I visited, the 21st century Ultimate soldier XD 1/18 A-10 is CANCELLED. I hear confilicting reports so I hope they are still just tweaking it. I personally think BBI will soon overshadow 21st century with their 1/18 line, I mean their hornets and falcons are selling REALLY well and they are also BIG and expensive(almost 90$). I HOPE we get a F-14 and a F-15 also. I mean hell having ALL 4 of the teen fighters just REAKS of bad ass. Hope we at least get a Fulcrum C and Flanker B out of this. Knight any pictures of your 1/18 stuff? And did you get the hornet? BTW they say the gear on the F-16 is MUCH better than the hornet;s, teh hornet's gear is made of plastic but it tends to sag over time. For a toy though, I think they should have used diecast struts instead. And badcataviation.com is offering the 1/18 hornet in blue angels colors, and variius stock F-16s with different ANG decals. WATERSLIDE!!
  25. The MPC was originally planned to be 1/65 scale. It was also set@80$ however possibly due to fan reaction@ their unveiling one july a few years ago, they were scaled up and had numerous adjustments, for better or worse that were made. IMPROVEMENTS: -Longer nose MISTAKES: -Back of fighter mode still sticks up in air -REMOVAL of plastic peg interlocking system for legs and use of weak magnets in place of the former -WORSE proportions than original proto other than the nose. -1/55 overall size, some limbs merely STRETCHED rather than tweaked to true 1/55 scale. (Some members note that the legs are merely stretched rather than actually made to scale with rest of the body on the toy....) IMHO the 1/65 proto, aside from the nose, looked MUCH better. Wait that backpack too It's mainly 1/55 sized, and HCM and 1/72 imai kit based. (Imai had the ladder just in case anyone was wondering)
