Toynami has random quality. The ben MPC was bounds better qc wise than the rick one while the Roy one was better than rick yet not as good as ben. Weird. I am debating whether or not to get the green lancer though..nice scheme and price.

Ya know the main reason it looks so damn fat in the toy is because billy wong had to sculpt retractable landing gear hinges and have enough space for the mechanism to actually work. We all know its still ugly as sin, those gears suck. The gear on the bandai fire valk MODEL is cool though. lol. Ya know what? The reason the damn vertical stabilizers were small as heck on the VF-11B was due to the fact that yamato wanted retracting gear on it too!! ANd there wasnt enough space for a bigger fin to slide in!!UGH!! Once again I preach to yamato, if it makes it a better toy, make SWAP GEAR!!!! Make room for perfect variable mechanisms and hinges and better proportions, not for gear.
-
LOL good one graham! Me here are my complaints. 1-addtion of landing gear makes the sculpt ugly in order to make enough room for landing gear. With swap gear this can be eliminated and the plane can be a LOT sleeker! not to mention legs more in proportion. 2-Wings are not "straight". Should not be angled down at the sides what the hell? 3-TOO much metal. Geezus. Some parts on this seriously did not have to be metal. The wing mounts for example. 4-Thick tabs on Wing mounts that do not synch with their entrance sections well. 5-landing gear too short(again fixable with swap gear). I could go on, but I will say this. Aesthetically it BLOWS the bandai 1/65 macross 7 valkyries away!! Perhaps this is the main reason a lot of people eagerly anticipated this toys release when first announced in 1999.

Collecting Articulated Girls

im gonna say gijoe scarlett and lady jaye and baroness but all 3 tend to have scaling issues and proportion issues. -
The VF-1 are most certainly saturated. You can still find Banprestos, Bandai 1/55, Yamato 1/60 and 1/48 sitting on shelves gathering dust. Only the very high demand ones like the Low Vis, and VF-1A/S Hikaru are sold out. The VF-1S Roy that everyone was demanding a re-release of is easily found. The M+ stuff is pretty much gone though. Only a couple VF-11FP remain. None really flew off the shelves to start with though, it was more of a slow and steady sale volume. Howard is it like that all over japan or just the area you are located in? A lot of fans here keep saying "oh yamato's being ignorant oh yamato hates us oh they neglect us now after making money bla bla", so thats why I asked. From what you said, I gather stuff is not exactly flying off shelves. With that in mind, I can understand yamato scaling back releases. I mean if the market is saturated, the japanese fandom might want a breath of fresh air rather than buy new macross stuff. Who is to say it would sell? To US hell yea it would, but see guys our fandom on macross world, as big as it may seem, is small compared to the whole fandom in japan. And plus they are the target market, not us. Besides with market saturation there is not really a good chance to make mucho profit. Yamato is a small company why would they risk it? I mean I of all people was DESPERATE for a PV VF-0(you guys reember my polls? LOL), and I would love to see all new retools of all 3 macross plus toys, but realistically speaking, if yamato chooses not to for the time being, I don't blame them. I understand why. Doesn't stop me from wanting the "paper airplanes" but hell thats the way it is. No sense in blaming them for not making stuff we want. IF they've still got the licenses they procured to begin with, perhaps all this other merchandise non macross is to make profit until saturation wears off(1-2 years?) and then create another resurgence in macross product, considering if a market drought happens inevitably during the time no macross product is released. Don't get me wrong guys, I WANT yamato or hell even bandai to make more stuff, but if they do not I definitely understand. And I understand how a lot of you want the same, it has been a while since a company did good macross stuff, and bandai's lazy ass took too long!
-
Hey I wouldn't mind if there was an all new sculpt VF-11 and YF-21!!! the previous ones sure could use some retooling!!!! But whether tha majority of our japanese brethren would want the same is the question... Howard is macross still in mucho saturation in toy stores there?

Aircraft VS super thread!

Graham, you got them in kit form? The ones I saw were already built, but I do know new ray offers them in kitform to the hobby stores. Preassembled ones are at the toy stores. Sorry to hear of your breakage!!! David thanks for the size clarifications. I was thinking it was an inbetween like 1/80 or such. I should note that the panel lines are raised rather than engraved. New ray does this with a lot of their releases. It does not look as good. For what its worth though, it is cool to have a YF-23 that you can definitely play with zooming around the apartment. Especially after its triumphant return to Ace Combat 5. -

the rest f15 and YF-23 vs f15 1/100 vs f14 All i all I conclude that the YF-23 I have is NOT 1/72. More likely 1/100 now that I see the size relations. The pilot is definitely out of scale and is the same one in EVERY new ray airplane. 1/48 prop planes too. The dragon planes are suppposedly same priced with added accessories. Hopefully they "fix" the tomcat too!!! and that concludes my pics. Any questions? comments? -

I'll get some comparison pics real soon. David and others interested in the black widow, be WARNED!! the gear is painfully obvious and the gears are probably not accurate. However for 5$, I'm not complaining. Just wish it was diecast like Force1!! On a side note, i you go to an air show most likely a vendor will see some low vis F-14A VF-1 Wolfpack toys. -
definitely 1/72 or 1/60, I realize 1/48 might be too big for this.

Graham when Yamato and toycom courted BW for the license·back in 1999/2000, were there other companies that had proposals that BW rejected? I ask this since if there were, perhaps they are waiting for their 2nd chance from BW.

YEs. Fr any of you with the 1/100 bandai fire valk kit, the toy would have similar proportions, and the plastic is TOO THIN for tolerance and casual play at that point. Even ABS would break being that thin, and we all know yamato would use minimal diecast too. (remember the paint scraping horror VF-19A?).

Transformers Thread 2
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Dangard Ace's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
mmm... did the "ear-plug" fall or it doesn't come with one? My MP-01 left earplug fell and got lost after 2 days Did that happen to anyone? ~Tico Well, there weren't any "ear-plugs" to seal off that ear hole, but there are a coupla rubbery thingeys seaed in a small plastic bags that might be used to plug it in.... but they were black in color and i tot i'd wanted to keep magnus all white... so i din really care abou it. More pics after I get home. a lot of people have been asking about thsoe rubbery things on other boards and dont know what they're for. The manual says they're for the trailer and i've been using them for that. also, some reviewer said MP OP couldn't pose well? i spent an hour and a half putting op in a ton of neato cool awesome KAZOWY-BANG-BOOM-SHAZAM poses yesturday, so i dont know what they're talking about. MP OP rules! i use him to talk to my girlfriend - i love that button on the back of his head... sigh... i'm a loser... He CAN pose well, but his legs are pretty heavy, so its hard for him to hold some very very dynamic poses without him falling over. This is just a minor complaint, this toy is no brick whatsoever and the articulation rocks ass. Maybe the reviewer was talking about the balance issues not necesarily the posing. I did a bunch of tests and experiments with mine and most of the poses I put him in utilizing his legs for dynamism resulted in him falling over. Oh well, the diecast more than makes up for it though it does cause the balance problems. better some than none! diecast rules. -
IF thye up the scale to at least 1/60 then yea I would buy. 1/100 is too small and 1/72 is really pushing it. 1/48 would maybe be too big(as noel has discussed before in another thread on this), and 1/60 gives them enough room to work with being that it would have bigger pieces and room for parts integration. Not to mention it would fit with the 1/60 VF-1 line, which was a lot more popular than yuammies earlier 1/72 macross plus series(which in the face of the 1/60 and 1/48 VF-1 line, can be deemed forgettable).

I wouldn't exactly call this thing a toy IDO. I do wish that it will follow the same route as its monster brother, but the fact of it is, in the end it is a resin model. I think captain america was basically pointing out that while its a resin model, it should look more like a model since no doubt it feels like one being made out of resin with small pieces and such. Calling it a toy would be kind of wrong. I mean the tolerances of resin are totally different than plastic and over time the model itself might have really loose parts. Even if they were to totally mold the thing in ABS with some diecast, it might not work, some changes would be needed, however minimal they would be. but if the size was increased it would be easier to work with.

Guys I am definitely thinking my YF-23 is NOT 1/72 scale. It's closer to my Dragon F-16 in size rather than my Dragon F-15. But it is definitely bigger than my Force One F-15 and F-14. I can post comparison shots tonight, I am definitely thinking it is either 1/100 or a scale between 1/72 and 1/100...perhaps 1/80? So does anyone want me to take some shots for tonight?Let me know! The pilot within the plane is definitely out of scale. -
OMG a HCM!! KICK ASS!!! Dude are you the same dude I asked back many months ago to post a mini gallery ? I forgot who did but someone posted a bunch OF HCm pics. HCM RULES!! Wish I had one. damn boating accidents!! grrrrr and I agree about cells. Nothing beats da real thing. mgiht not be true. The wrists can swing to the side at an almost 90 degree angle left and right. YOu MIGHT be able to get it to hold but it has to be at a high angle.

Guys got a new digicam. So pics of the new stuff I have gotten this sem. First off. Dragon 1/72 F-16C TFS and F-15C 1st TFW And now my 1/72(supposed) new ray YF-23 I found at KB toys. Plastic. Prety nifty for 5$. -
Some of you have weight and balance concerns for this. See with the legs, at least there is rubber around the balljoints to lessen the friction and looseness of the hips. This is not so for the arms. I kept my hikaru 1S with his arm always aiming at something unsupported, it became loose over time so he had to hold the gun with 2 hands, until I added the paper cushion. Although I do imagine loose shoulder joints will not matter to most of you since it will mainly be posed with 2 hands on the gun rather than jsut one...especially with the big ass shoulder armors. Although a word of advice, if any of you DO in fact want to have your 1/48 posed with 1 hand gun aiming pose high in the air, you might want to find a way to keep the shoulder ball joints from getting loose. I think this toy is AWESOME. I hope we get a giftset with a 1/48 VF-1J.

Naw most of those were 20$ msrp I believe or close. I think they look more dynamic than SOTA's figures and more artistically licensed, however I think the SOTA's have a nice simplicty to them. So far noone has said how well the CVSII figures hold up, if they are durable and have tight joints I will have to bite. They do look real cool. However the SNK dudes seem to not have as much articulation which sucks.

yep im on tfw!!!! I used to post here a lot, then there, then back here. TFW2005 used to have Aaron Archer on board with his own forum. But the whole scandal thing was not seibertron.com to my knowledge, it was tformers.com The jist of it was that tformers/adc was questioning or jealous of why tfw had most of the new info first. From what I recollect the admin of tformers.com sent an e-mail to hasbro questioning this and when hasbro read it they responded by ordering Archer to step off of tfw and would only answer or provide info through "official channels". Like transformers.com Seibertron.com and tfw2005 get a long for the most part. TFW is THEE best site for info. Allspark.com has a few good insiders who gave good accurate cybertron info while tformers to be honest is not as good with news. Seibertron.com has a rumor section that has a reputation for being as wrong as many times as it has been right. Or more wrong than right. Its dpendent on the viewers opinion. Tfans, though allied with tformers, is headed by Remy of tfkenkon.com, I see no problem at all with his forum. As some of you may know, adc has a ove or hate reputation since they have angered some toy companies by using their FTP's to access pictures BEFORE they are supposed to go through the official channels to the general public or into magazines. Note that while in general you would think stuff like that does not happen, it has happened and in a way its an abuse of priveledge. Some site admins are given specific passwords and are only supposed to access some FTP';s to dl pics and post online only during certain times. When they break that trust shi* happens and suffice to say, depending on which site you go to, adc or toynewsni does not have a good rep amongst toy sites. I speak of this in reference to toyfair 2005. toynewsni or another site was getting a LOT of heat because they linked pics to ML2005 really early before toybiz opened their showroom. Toybiz delayed showroom opening and meetings with many known toy mags and websites because of this. Some were worried we might not even see anything at all from them! In the end it all worked out and toybiz opened its doors. But it was a close one. On tfw, you will see a lot of the false rumors being shot down. It seems to me that Kickback@tfw knows a lot of things, as he is able to say for certain if some releases will come out or why or the reasons. He won't come out and answer a question directly but every now and then like when someone askes about the reissues he's got an answer on their availibility in the future and such. This was not like Orson who answered many many many questions. This does NOT mean keep PMing kickback for answers!!
