THeir P-51 came out a few months back and the most recent is the Corsair. Both are at Toys R us for 40$. A lot of people say they are better than the 21st century versions, but also look forward to the retooled mustang 21st is putting out later this year. The F-16 came out last year. A LOT of people...obviously including me WANT an F-14. THat and an F-4. If they did an F-14 in VF-1 Wolfpack colors..my god...too beautiful for words. That and VF-84 jolly rogers. For a limited edition the VX-4 playboy bunny version would be cool too. There are 2 rumors at this point. One is that BBI is planning on making a 1/18 MI-24 HIND. The other which is surprising and just happened recently...is that BBI is planning to also make a 1/18 scale F-15 Eagle. All I can say is HOLY crap and if they DO make an eagle, they better make a tomcat that way we have ALL of the 1980's teen fighters! The F-14,15,16 and 18 are arguably the most popular fighters of that decade. The F-14 is retiring next year so if BBI makes one to commemorate that it would be totally awesome. BBI is also making a target exclusive line. For a 2 pack of figures with accessories and weapons, you only pay 5$. This line is less detailed than the TRU exclusive line, and a lot cheaper. Nonetheeless its good for the money, and they have VEHICLES!!!!! These are all "joe scale" meaning they are more in tune to scale with gijoe vehicles rather than being true 1/18 scale. Prices for vehicles are 10-20$, and so far apparently there is not only a commanche and another helicopter, but an A-10! For 20$. With parachute? and pilot figure. Not this is joe scaled but it looked like it was more in scale than the cobra rattler was. The rumor I read on this was that the BBI owner's son kept begging for an A-10 and presumably this is the result. So Target gets the "joe scale" BBI stuff for cheap, TRU gets the high quality stuff which is a lot pricier. Both different markets, but joe fans might be happy with the target stuff. That A-10 looks like a beaut! I saw some links but only found 1 in box...the rest of the links did not work so I will post when I find working ones. *note the A-10 proto you saw long ago was a 21st century prototype...which is either canncelled or in limbo. The next 1/18 21st century stuff are the F-104(which is out I think or soon), the avengerFINALLY!, the F-86, MIG-15, and a retooled P-51.* BTW Faliat. Knight 26 gave us a great review on his B BI F/A-18. How about one from you...and some PICS!!!!?

I gotta disagree with the upgrade part man. The canopy is more bulbous, the plane is bigger, has "interim" engines that are not as reliable as the VF-1 engines, (much like the TF-30 on the F-14A ...until the FINALLY got the long awaited more reliable much more powerful GEF110), has more drag, has a normal HUD, heavier, and possibly slower due to drag and weight. The VF-1 has glass canopy HUD, more reliable engines, sleeker, less drag, more advanced transformation(though not by much), more armor options, and looks more aerodynamically sound...seriously the VF-0 to VF-1 to me is like comparing an F-15 to an F-22. The VF-0 is the bridge between the gap of the modern fighter and variable fighter. But hell I'm a sucker for vintage fighters...and the VF-0 looks vintage and badass to me. 314467 Shin, Dude, you definitely know your specs, and most certainly the VF-1 is a superior aircraft; however, my comment was merely aimed at the VF-0's appearance, i.e, angled panels, panel lines, exhausts, etc. all created to give a contemporary "stealth" appearance inherent in nearly every American fighter/ bomber since the F-117. Since stealth technology was still deep black when Shoji Kawamori designed the VF-1 back in the early 80's, he did not incorporate those external features into that particular design. Thus, in my mind, it was an upgrade in design from only an aesthetic point of view. To a non-Macross fan who knows anything about military planes, the VF-1 looks dated next to the more contemporary looking VF-0. However in all other respects, the VF-1 is the better design. Thanks for the comments; guess I needed to clarify my position. Also, personally I love both designs, although the VF-0 gains points with me for the reasons stated above. It's all about the angles, man!!!!! 314635 Ah its cool man. I understand now. For some reason I might actually like the VF-0 better than the VF-1....just looks more like a rugged fighter to me...which I like. I love the addition of LERX, and the robot mode head is pretty menacing on the S. The variants are pretty cool as well. And while the VF-1 is all advanced and glitz, I love the feel of the VF-0..gives off the impression of being a warhorse. Graham please do a review! I miss your reviews man. If you do any of the reviews you promised a few months back(VF-1J wFP, FP set), then that would be great too! I think we ALL miss your reviews man! And once I get my VF-0 I will be doing a review for ringofcollectors/rocuniverse.com as well.

Heh. Hey guys, Don Murphy pretty much called out TFW2005, and an ensuing flame war on his board has occurred. I don't agree with what he did and apparently now he is threatening lawsuits and such against billstoysngames and other stuff. Weird huh? tfw2005.com frontpage has all the info. -

What Macross Zero toy do you want after the VF-0S?
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
NOPE!!! I've waited LONG LONG LONG for a VF-0, and its coming indeed, the light has shone and it shoneth VERY VERY VERY BRIGHT!! come on Osean, you KNOW you want more than the VF-0S.... -
If yamato were to release the YF19FP, then next year would be the BEST time to release it, as VF-1 market saturation will have undoubtedly die down by then, and the macross 0 product will keep macross fresh in the minds of the japanese fans. Heres to hoping! Haro,, Unless Yamato bankrupts themselves(which I find highly unlikely), I imagine more than the VF-0S is to be produced. It costs a lot to tool a new mold to begin with, and you know yamato, they are not content with just ONE release(well with macross). They need profit to cover the cost of molds and slight retools and repaints equate to easy profit. So the VF-0A is inevitable, the D just needs a new head and wings. Other than that theres not much to it, the VF-0D's wing area is larger than the VF-0A/S so sculpting it should not be too hard. Not to mention it does not sweep as much. And to hell with the 1/100 torch it to the ground! I'm glad that MSIA-like figure never came out. Man I hope we get a VF-0B testtype colors plane too. You know, like the hasegawa one>?
-
According to the transformation, its simple it just slides down with the cockpit, it doesn't fold or appear from underneath the chest as on the VF-1.
-
not to mention......the VF-0D has bigger wings and surface area to work with...that equates to.... EASIER TO SCULPT! So if anything I see a VF-0D before an SV-51.
-
Preach on brutha! If it gets done, the likelyhood of a vf-0d is a good possibility since the anime had been done in CG whcih is a bit more detailed as far as transformation and I believe less dependent on anime magic to pull off the sequence. If the 0D tranny was never altered by the ussual magic of anime then it could translate over to a tangible scaled down product. Ofcourse, someone will probably shoot me down for hoping that because of the lack of a 1/48 vf-1d hasn't been tackeled yet. 313978 your forgetting that the VF-1D would require an all new chest and cockpit tooling to enable to the chest to swing forward enough to accomodat the longer canopy underneath in robot mode. The VF-0D? Nope the chest just slides over! You just need a longer heatshield and maybe chest at this point! So I reckon a VF-0D is more likely than a VF-1D.

Remember, remember the 5th of November
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Ladic's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That looked intriguing, and serious...kinda like batman begins only a lot darker in that respect. So is she the person behind the mask or is that someone else? I know very little of the actual comic. -
Yep! The announce of the 1/60 VF-0 gave me an excuse to make a poll after about a year lol. So of the potential toys we got coming, which would you want next?(sure it won't be till 2006 but who cares...we got toys coming and thats all that matters!!)
-
Dude THANKS for pointing that out!!!! And since it is PV and certainly big enough.... I could care less about a 1/48 at this point!(the whole appeal fo the 1/48 for me aside from detail was the PV).
-
OH MY FREAKING GOD!! whoaaaa!!!!!! I HOPE THIS IS PERFECT VARIABLE lord knows it's big enough to acomodate it. I hope Nishikawa sanis sculpting this baby and I hope this comes out before summer! DROOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DREAMS COME TRUE!!! burn in hell 1/100 burn in hell!

I'e got to disagree about this- out of my BT collection, grimlock's been the worst for sratching by a very, very long way. the tramsformation is such that it causes a lot more metal-metal contact than any of the others, making my grim's doors and front bodywork look like they're had rocks thrown at them. it's not like he's hand any mroe attention of transformations than my tracks, smokes GT, Meister, or lambor, but he already looks like a 10-year-old toy. my wheeljack is going to be an Alt version, as I don't want it to happen again. the mustang is my favourite BT mould from an easthetic POV, but the risk of scratches is way higher. there is a chance, I guess, that it's the silver paint used or I just got a duff one, but I don't want to risk it, really. 313187 You have to push the shoulders slightly away from the body when you move his arms up or down. If you don't do this, then undoubtedly yours will get scratched up. Either way, theres no way around it, binaltechs are by far more durable than alternators. That thin plastic scares me. Almost all thin plastic parts on alternators are metal on binaltechs. Except for the glass, but its common sense not to mess with that stuff in the first place. -

Yup...I think according to the binaltech tf guide I bought last month, the arms are actually meant to pop off...and the doors too. I hope to god that the next binaltechs are a lot easier to transform than grimmy and tracks. Shockblast and Meister's transformation..as well as sideswipe and override....equates to pure PERFECTION to me. -

Chris don't worry about ol grimmy scratching man. Just make sure you nudge the shoulders outwards a bit so they do not scratch the side of the front in robot mode, other than that,...have fun! I find the binaltechs to be more DURABLE than alternators....the only thing alternators got over them is lower price and balance. Binaltechs aren't nearly as fragile...so to me they are DEFINITELY TOYS!! -

If you don't want the chicks just get the alternators version, which WON'T come with the chicks. The chicks are a takara only thing. -

Are you even native japanese? Probably not, but seems like you think you know better since you hang with more japanese than we do or something like that. And intro to SDF macross MA KU ROS MA KU ROS How the ku in the middle is silent baffles me since I sure as hell heard it loud and clear. And then theres that one time where you said its unlikely this would be marketed to japan as mospeada II yet HG already announced plans long ago that in japan, that is there intention, to release it as a sequel to mospeada. The japanese fans might not care who Rick Hunter is, hell the design might even change, to them he must be some random guy, as long as they don't name stick as roy focker and grant as claudia, there will be no problem. And I bet your gonna post anyways. And no me and JBO aren't idiots. Ya know for a guy that is a lurker you come off here as a wanna be "websters dictionary of how-to-pronounce-japanese-and-anime-words-the-right-way-because-i-am-so-cool-and-know-japanese-people-and-you-others-are-idiots-who-pronounce-things-wrong-and-this-boosts-and-proves-my-superior-knowledsge-l33t1sm-of-japanese-phoenetics-further-more-solidifying-my-ego-desu-and-i-know-more-than-you" kinda guy. THe next masterpiece is king exikaizer from the braves series. But his numerical designation and letters and stuff are MPBR-01 I think. Not sure. Renato did you see the galaxy force soundwave on that early bird page you linked?>? Scroll down when you click it...it looks pretty nice! Has lazerbeak..and either his minicon turns into lazerbeak or turns into his gun...not sure. Lazerbeak can go in his chest though I think. Metallic GF convoy from the EZ line is packed with megalo convoy to show scale....megalo convoy athough big is not too =scale as the other figures...so EZ convoy is included to show how big he is really supposed to be in comparison. -
Dude yea! woo hoo!
