Dobber, Nishikawa is a genius though, before the 1/48, noone could have even imagined someone would design something to incorporate perfect variability, a seamless chestplate and fueselage mesh. and swing bars that DIDN't stick out! But then the 1/48 came, and he changed the face of macross toys forever...and gained yamato a reputation arguably as the best valkyrie toy making company EVER!(I still love my bandais that is why I say arguably). So I think a VF-0D and SV-51 can be done, the fueselage on the VF-0D seems to be longer, perhaps also incorporating a longer chestplate to accomodate for the shield, the plane itself is very very different from the baseline VF-0 with only limbs I believe being in common. So who knows, I tend to think designing the 1/48 VF-1 was a much harder obstacle than designing a 2 seat VF-0. But I am being optimistic here. And the SV-51 is very big, so perhaps it is more room for him to work with, and with macross we know for each series they have done they like to include 1 of each valkyrie in the toyline(M + had all 3 valkyries, etc). SO heres to hoping we get a VF-0D and SV-51!!

Dude I said it MIGHT be cheaper, and I also did say I would not be surprised if it WASN'T. I do hope we get a VF-0A Shin type and ghost drones to attach..and a VF-0D and at least Ivanov's SV-51.

Same here! But being this is Roy's bird, I can assume we might get 3-4 versions of this thing.............but I hope all the kinks are worked out BEFORE production starts! Seems like they have been far along for quite sometime but never bothered to tell anyone.

Oh it does take a while. i remember in 04 I was at the oceana show right at the fence before the flight line up close, it was amazing and I got to see the super bug, tomcat, and eagle startup! Did I mention loud? who cares I love planes!(Me who thinks being paid by the government to go live on a carrier for 3 months and illustrate what goes on to be a heaven sent dream come true...someday!!)

NExt one is from the brave series, King Exkaizer. Hasbro did say more masterpieces are being looked into but development has not started on any yet.

So they are working on a tiny ass cockpit, and thats the centerpiece of this huge potentially expensive toy? This sound funny to any of you? Don't get me wrong, I am glad it is being made, and of course its nice to add stuff to the cockpit, but CENTERPIECE?!

I have the 2nd version., I do like it but I really wanted to have a clear cockpit, it seemed half assed with an opaque canopy, especially when they already were using clear orange plastic on the later decepticon energons. The mold itself on both releases and has tiny tailfins, had those been bigger and had the plane been slimmer I would have liked it more. Overall the toy it is based on(smokejumper) I believe is the superior release but nonetheless I still think it is a mustbuy for any starscream fan and energon fans, it is definitely one of the best releases in energon. And I will get cybertron starscream with the TRU 2 pack/

I don;t know the answers for all of those questions but I do know some. A CAP as far as I know does not consist of anti sub planes. I believe they do their own patrols. However the E-2, does provide early warning and works in coordination with the fighters. The E-2 acts as a naval AWACS and provides a lot of the first contact info, closing range, and all that. It can also direct fighters to certain areas. Also CAPs tend to go in different directions, as to not blindside the fleet. A CAP is meant to engage targets that are potentially trying to get close or attack the carrier and either escort them away or if fired upon or if hostile intent is shown, to destroy them. Alert fighters are only dispatched if the CAPs do not eliminate all of the enemy craft or if more help is needed. And form what I understand, yes CAP crews do sit in the cockpit the whole time. 1 gulf war book talked about tomcat pilots playing their gameboys in cockpit while waiting for a potential alert 5 launch. I think to get a fighter scrambled it would take 10-20 minutes maybe less, I think Knight or David know more about this than I do.

It would be pretty neat for the cockpit seat to swivel in battroid mode but so far no confirmation. That would have to involve some sort of hinge to keep it in place in fighter, and a release to let it swivel and possibly a weight to keep it in place in battroid. I am all for it but given the small area within the cockpit I doubt they would implement it not to mention it would not be that visible(since the shield would cover the canopy), nonetheless its these small details that make it alll the more awesome! And I cannot wait! So what if its 1/60 it will still be bigger than a 1/55, and I can pretend its 1/55!!

The super bug is known for its high rate of "nose pointing" which I think is a great asset in a dogfight. Being that it can do that, and high alpha passes, and that it has reliable engines, is it capable of performing a cobra? And also, to you 1/18 fans, BBI's NEXT plane is the F6F hellcat. pics@figures.com! Look under fall toyfair! They also had a outofscale foam A-10 on the ceiling, and quite a few of us including myself believe it to be a placeholder for a realistic 1/18 A-10 in the works! Mike from BBI did say that stuff at the febuary toyfair would be indicative of release in fall later that year......and this is fall toyfair...soo.... We COULD see a 1/18 A-10 next fall! Cross your fingers and pray that I am right that the foam one IS a placeholder, and an actual toy will be displayed at febuary toy fair! Also. 21st century's LONG awaited Avenger 1/18 warbird is CLOSE to being released! yes it has been quite a LONG time, but get this folks, an ACTUAL toy of this was put togethere and handled by a fan at the recent iexpo(I envy that guy!)! Minor tweaks are being performed, and from what I hear it is VERY sturdy and detailed and FREAKING HUGE~ ! Over@warbird-photos/gpxd some pics were shown next to a FW190 and it DWARFS it! 21st is very confident that it will be out before year's end! And 3 color schemes were shown in a pamphlet, 2 tone gray, flight 19, and dark blue! Also it turns out, that 21st century's progress on the 1/18 MIG-15 and F-86 is going smoothly as well! Look for it next year. Oh and the 1/18 new tooled BBD P-51 was shown at iexpo as well! 21stcenturytoys.com has a section called area 21, join up! Its free and you get a bunch of coverage and photos of upcoming stuff! And TRu just got an exclusive WWII set of XD figures, so couid this signal a return of the XD 1/18 series to TRU? who knows, but I sure hope so!(stuff is hard to find at walmart!)

I think I see where greyryder is coming from, and this is an understandable point of view. Greyreyder sees a grand oppurtunity for takara to make a highly realistic alt mode, to make up for the fact that MP-01 prime's alt mode was not totally accurate. Now its been said that focus was on the figure mode rather than the robot, and it is not in scale with alternators no matter how close anyone thinks it is. Its understandable though, David is the same way with trucks and planes! And he did comment on this way back when MP-01 first came out a year or so back. Me I am happy as long as both modes are "believable" and not totally unbelieveable in one mode. Like energon starscream, I thought he would be awesome, his robot mode certainly is, but man as an F-22, some things are just OFF, I don't care if this toy was meant for 5 year olds, but vertical stabilizers on that thing are TINY! Nonetheless he is still worthbuying and I can overlook the smallness, but it is a dissapointment to an otherwise awesome homage.

actually I saw a technical drawing of a MIG-29 with canards but it was not the 1/.42/44. I think I saw this in Janes.

Mike, those pics are actually old. Taito actually released a trailer not too long ago, and it did confirm that the MIG-29, SU-27, and F-14 are flyable in the game! The trailer is cool, it starts off with some happy sounding tune with a super hornet going to the catapult and launching, and then this rock track kicks in, and then you see tomcats shooting stuff, flankers and fulcrums doing REAL cobras(not the BS yellow squadron AC4 kind), and it ends with the super bug landing. The thing I like, is that this thing is on par with aerodancing/aerowings/aero elite academy flight model and physics wise, BUT takes it a step further and provides authentic avionics AND displays per plane! This was evident on the previous PS2 incarnations but with the 360 I imagine they can take this a lot further, I was not surprised at alll when the screens showed accurate shots of an F-15C cockpit and accurate displays. the trailer is here btw http://www.taito.co.jp/d3/cp/waf/popup/pop1-wm.html

Does anyone have pics of the super fulcrum proposal>?(MIG-33 designation with canards) or the Hornet 2000 proposals with delta wing and canard?

I'd love to see it go against the SU-30MKI. Lord knows theres a friendly rivalry between MIG and Sukhoi(They also debated who did the COBRA first and MIG claims they did unofficially with the fulcrum doing a testrun). From what I recollect the MKI only has 2D vectoring, whereas this badboy has all around vectoring....and I have never seen an MKI turn as tight as the OVT did. Holy crap..... I would also love to see the X-31 knife fight this thing....THAT would be a spectacle to see! Both can perform spectacular manuevers in slow speeds...truly astounding.

Speaking of the OVT, is ANYONE buying it? I know India is getting the big flapped MIG-29K(which looks awesome and turns out has MIG-29M technology), and I know this is a demonstrator for potential buyers, but man this would be totally cool if bought! I wonder if it has the extra fuel storage of the SMT.

LOL how in hell can that thing just be a model? Good thing you schooled him knight! And the MIG-29 video is awesome, the pilot seemed a bit rough with it near the end when he demonstrates the interconnection of the rudders and horizontal stabilizers with the OVT engines. INCREDIBLY fast vectoring! I like the part in the beginning where the fulcrum does a cartwheel, seems out of control, but then proceeds to pull out of a slight dive. AWESOME!! That and its in the airshow demo team colors, I forgot the name, I know the flanker demo team are the russian knights.

I hope this slightly bigger than the HBS galaxy convoy, that one was pretty small. But if it is not, I would not be surprised. Heres to hoping we get a starscream out of this!

Ass man(forgot his name) got the wrong herbal ass treatment again? OR was it HHH? I missed the show, tried to do homework lol. A7 did you hear about that long ass letter that ultimate warrior wrote to mcmahon in response to the new DVD out? Some people think its a marketing ploy by both sides to re introduce warrior. I doubt it though, they never seemed to agree on who owned the name.
