I think these were just used as placeholders to give the retailers an idea of what the toy may potentially look like, but not necesarily the final production version. It's like those disclaimers on toy boxes that say: "Actual product may differ from one shown in photo"

Yamato, Showing ugly REFERENCE SAMPLES that will not go into production at one of the premiere industry shows prior to the release of your new products, yet leaving the price tags there? Can you say MARKETING BLUNDER?! At least remove the sales tag so its not OFFICIAL. I wonder how many distributors just puked and outright canceled their orders because of that. I hope Yamato had the common sense of at least a closed door presentation for the business guys. If I was the Marketing Director at Yamato, somebody would have been fired for putting those out. The Product Marketing manager first, followed by the design director for both signing off on those two. But, I am scared these two atrocities are actually real or intended production prototypes because even Yamato is not as dumb as I had just vented about above. Or are they? PS: VF-0S looks way cool the two ugly sisters really took away the thunder. PPS: I wonder how hard is it to mod the rotating seats feature from the VF-0S into the VF-1? 372074 Good point!!! And so far saverobotech is the only source of yamato pics from the show(I've scoured links from toyboxdx and found NOTHING ON YAMATO@WF!!!), lol perhaps everyone was so turned off at the camo valk that they decided not to even take pics of it!! And that stand for the VF-0S looks NEW, or am I wrong? And does it come with it? If it came with it then it would surely make me feel better about splunking 160$ on this thing for a bday present. But then again the VF-1 stands were near 40$...AHHHH!!! But yes if it came with that stand and still went for the msrp it would kick ass!(more so than it already does).
-
Dude to be honest, I wouldn't mind a 1/48 VF-0. I hear ya on the scale consistency though, and it does make sense, but I myself would LOVE a 2ft tall VF-0! And I collect 1/18 scale aircraft(BBI's F/A-18 is 3 FEET LONG 2ft+ wide!, and I got no problem with it!), so I'll make space granted that it looks cool.
-
You do realize that the 1/60 VF-0 is PERFECT VARIABLE like the 1/48 VF-1 right? And no, yamato's original plan was a 1/100 VF-0 with swappable parts galore.
-
HEY!!! Dude in the background got to hold the VF-0S in the pic! Did you get to handle it too, Saverobotech?
-
No ofense, but we have said many, many, many times that the 1/60 VF-0 is actually bigger in size than a 1/48 VF-1 Yes, a VF-0 at 1/48 scale, would be almost double the size of a VF-1... Yes, in "real life" a VF-0 would be huge compared to a VF-1... Yes, the pilot in the 1/60 VF-0 would be very small, because it continues to be 1/60 scale, while the airplane itself is actually larger than the VF-1 1/48 Do you get it? If you buy a 1/60 VF-0, you are getting a bigger airplane than a 1/48 VF-1. Also, remember this 1/60 has advancement over the 1/48. Rotating pilot seat, Landing gear that open outwards like real airplanes. Head lasers can aim outwards in fighter mode. The first full-bodied 1/60 pilot. Leg armors. Etc, etc, etc 372023 Actually I do get. I understood that months ago. But I still refuse to pay that much for a craptacular 1/60. Yamato needs to pick a scale and just go with it. So what if a 1/48 zero would be twice as big. Bring it on. Hell its not like there's a lot of us playing with `1/48's anyway as if they were toys. Most here just use them as shelf display or as a monitary investment. Second take a look at other large toys like the mellenium Falcon or Royal starship from the Star Wars Univ. Now that's big. I'm fine with having a valk that big. If it were that big I'd pay $200+ for it. But anything 1/60 shouldn't be over $100. Period. Maybe the monster and that would be it. I could care less about the landing gear or pilot or rotating pilot seat. Head lasers like that are cool but not worth the price tag. What your fogetting is that this is the predicessor to the VF-1A/J/S so it shouldn't be a more advanced model. The rotating pilot seat or pilot armor shouldn't even be there. No offense but, Maybe take a step back and think before coming off all high and mighty. I know you mean no offense but take a look at which member's your replying to and think...is this a regular who's probably informed or just some newbie. It will keep you from sounding like an A-hole accousting somebody.. 372033 Your wrong there man, I play with them, they ARE toys after all, and I'm sure quite a good number of us play with the 1/48s as well. It always annoyed me when someone would say the 1/48s were so fragile, when I have messed with it so many times, and its held up through my abuse. I would be bored just keeping these bad boys on the shelf. MODELS serve that purpose quite fine, I want me some damn TOYS though. Seems to me you'd be more content with some hasegawas, cheaper than yamato, ALL 1/72 scale, and with more variants, and of course merely for display. And the VF-0S has all those gizmos like a rotating seat in the anime, and yamato always goes for anime accuracy in some form or another. And being that this sucker probably weighs more than the 1/48 and is just about the same size, well I understand the price. I think it makes the 1/60 VF-1s craptacular, but this is one big beast. Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have a 1/48 VF-0, but for what its worth this 1/60 will do just fine.

OOO good to hear that these arent the actual low viz and stealths. The camo one to me is god awful. Green missles? Maybe BOMBs but not missles!!! That VF-0S looks scrumptulescent. Brilliant!
-
the msrp is 15540 yen, so I assume that it doesn't come with the FAST packs.

I'm checking out your "looking for" list. Have you seen it? 371638 Hey Danth! Yea. I've seen it. Sadly, there aren't too many choices if you are a fan of Mospeada (Or TNG of Robotech). I would not need another Lancer Alpha had my Toynami arm not broken off. God, I would hate to see what would happen should I apply a little pressure! That is all I will say about the MPC alphas. Name one person who got a MPC veritech that can stand on it's own, or does not have some sort of QC issue. That toy does not exist. And its a shame! I was sooooooo excited about the MPC veritech. Thank god for Yamato's 1:48 line. Now, if only they would pick up Mospeada... 371836 You guys should take this to the MPC thread
-
Maybe on discount too!!! Then again I'm sure ALL of us wouldn't mind picking these up at lower prices than advertised on the information tags.
-
Graham does the camo valk have black trim on the tailfins? It might look better that way, least to me. Was that FAST pack mounted on the stealth valk just for show, or is that coming out too?
-
is zipa zincpanic? I can't find anything on their page for wonderfest.
-
How the hell is that a low viz?!! More like SE Asia camo circa mid 60s. I think it would have worked had the underside parts been light grey or flat white. Now the stealth valk...WHOA...yes THAT I would buy.

http://www.collectiondx.com/node/765 TOYNAMI report from toyfair! Well done too! I take it as confirmation for armor? And it seems George Sohn is definitely thinking like us, he WANTS enemy mecha too!

The biggest turn off to me is the size, THS Convoy is barely taller than a microman!!Now had he been 2x what he is now, around 8 inches, THEN I wouldn' mind spending near 50$ for it! Also for the NEo G1 line you had to be at botcon to see the prototypes of gun megatron and F-15 starscream, but these were in a slideshow and NOONE was permitted to take photos. MEgs is a futuristic gun, and I hear these guys looked badass. Since the initial release is in october I expect to see the prototypes or hasbro pics not too long for now, MAYBE spring, but if anything DEFINITELY summer! -
And what does this have to do with the VF-0S?
-
Whoa boys I also read somewhere that tokyo toy festival is occuring the SAME day as wonderfest!!! Perhaps they are over there as well?
-
The 1/100 valks are 19.99

I believe Junior from tfw2005 posted assortment listings for these on the boards, he got them from the TRU computer at work. And cybertronian inquirer(most of their previous rumors came true surprisingly at toyfair) -
Whoa good eye man! I ddin't even notice that before! Hopefully we get a GPS-1 too!!!

One of the Neo G1 deluxe figures set to debut in fall is Astrotrain........ -
They don't look too much different from the prototypes. I keep thinking that armor is almost a given but I shall wait for confirmation. The articulation and sculpt already rivals the MPC....which surprises me, being a smaller toy, one would think these would be worse. But in regards to price, articulation, and sculpt, toynami's pretty much outdone their MPC. Give this thing some substantial metal, foldable landing gear, and decent plastics+clear canopy and you've got an MPC killer on your hands. And for me the price and size along with the configurable stand are my main motivations to buy this. It also helps that IMHO this looks much better than the previous 1/100 offerings(ARII figures, super poseables, 1/100 takatoku).

FOr the 2 pack picture above? THe only things retooled are primal's chest, robot head, and beast head. Megatron has a new head. Both of them have more accurate paint schemes. The golden disc has some visuals on the history of beast wars, hints at upcoming releases of the hasbro newly tooled deluxe primal and megatron, and other stuff. The all new tools coming from hasbro are deluxe sized, and totally redesigned. Megatron IMHO looks better than the old but primal.....I dunno man they totally changed the transformation scheme and right now it lacks weapons other than a missle firing surfboard. Tfw2005.com has pics from toyfair of it. -

I like Su's interiors better than his covers and his one shot drawings. I also think IDW will handle the license fairly well. I am glad they got Don on board for beast wars, the man must be in cloud 9 right now, I mean he's got a diecast TRANSFORMABLE version of his war within prime coming out, and he's helming beast wars. oh and btw boys.....the WWI transformable Prime@toyfair is 16.99 ...apparently theres going to be ultra sized transformers for 19.99....so can you believe this, theres going to be BIGGER diecast transformers!!!! Any guesses? I say Ultra Magnus or Galvatron.
