1. Seee the thing is the LV2 seems near dead on in regards to the JASDF F-1 camo. EVEN the black nose and trim! But I do like the F-111 camo as well.
2. down south in VA they are 14.99
3. YES!!!! Good news for me!! Any idea on if they plan individual releases or a box set of all 3?
4. Big risk how? The Mitsubishi F-1 is VERY popular in japan, one of japan's FIRST jet aircraft, and japanese fans are going crazy especially the aviation fans/photographers with F-1 fever since the bird is retiring this year(if not then very soon). Its underpowered, and hell outclassed by the other JASDF fighters, but there is sense of national pride with that thing, and of course a lot of pilots who fly it love it, its highly respected in japan, plus its all japanese, not licensed from the US and built in japan(like the F-15j/DJ, F-4EJ/RF-4EJ, F-104J et al, even the mitusbishi F-2 has 40% parts developed in the US). I bet Kawamori might be a fan of it, lord knows he's seen the thing for decades zooming around the countryside. And plus, with all this said and done, I am more surprised at the fact that yamato did not make this EARLIER!\ So yea....I mean for all we know the F-1 could be just as popular in japan as the F-14 is in the states. And lord knows us tomcat lovers are getting all nostalgic this year, especially since the last combat mission just ended a few weeks back. So financial risk? I think not. I think financial OPPORTUNITY!
5. I myself would have LOVED to see the blue on blue 2tone JASDF scheme for the F-2. (its seen on some F-1's as well). Or a hiko kyodotai inspired scheme. Or any of the JASDF 50th anniversary type schemes, the ones with samurai decals, and sometimes snow, mountain, and tree logos. Even the 50th anniversary red with sakura blossoms scheme that was worn by an F-15J. I think this is all inevitable though, just makes me wonder wht any of this wasn't done earlier! I think an F-2 2 tone blue or F-15DJ hiko kyodotai scheme would look absolutely KILLER on a VF-1 though!
6. For what its worth, the best thing going for beast wars was its consistency. EVERY figure was fully articulated with ball joints as a standard. Sculpts were decent, in comparison, beast machines could not match it at all. EVen with articulation. To my knowledge this is the ONLY mainline that ever had full articulation per figure as a consistent standard, beast machines, armada, RID, cybertron, and energon did not do this, though RID in the beginning, and cybertron were pretty close. Theres some cases where the beast wars toys had more weaponry and better aesthetics than the actual animated counterparts, but if anything the differences were not as glaringly bad as the beast machines toys. I gotta be honest, as far as a consistent toyline with good storyline. and some damn well done toys, I gotta say IMHO that beast wars was probably thee best of the mainline tf lines.
7. There's 2 versions up for preorder@BBTS, 1 w/FP's 1 w/out.
8. Hey guys, one of my classmates went to the recent smackdown taping, and he was there holding some sign I think. Anyways he said a fight broke out between this lesbian couple and someone behind them that kept annoying them with a sign(it kept hitting them), I can't recall exactly what he said, but anyways while one of the events was going on in ring, a lot of the fans near the couple started paying attention to the fight more than the event(this don't surprise me). So yea, just something to try to look out for when you watch smackdown tonight!(if the cameras got it).
9. I'm surprised noones mentioned this, even MORE surprised that I didn't even think this at first glance, but now that I see the low viz once more(looks a bit toned down), it RESEMBLES the JASDF Mitsubishi F-1 camo! The kite symbol is red as it is, so it reminds me of the japanese military logo. (the red sun). Anyways a lot of JASDF F-1s have black noses/trim, and VERY similarly colored/styled camo. So if anything this is a throwback/nod to the JASDF, and now that I think about it, I truly believe it was inevitable that we would get something like this. And the missles are grey now! So I actually like it now. And I guess its "low viz" per se in regards to certain regions of japan. So to me it finally makes sense. Besides the F-1 is retiring pretty soon so I definitely think this is an homage. But I think it should be called "mitsubishi omage VF-1" rather than "low viz 2". I think the stealth valk should be called "low viz 2". The black shield is really throwing me off, I wish it was the light or dark grey on the camo itself to match, it stands out too much.
10. I guess the thing that dazzles me most is how much of an improvement the 2006 FOV version is over the previous one. It truly blows it away in sculpt. I wouldn't mind retractable gear, I really want something I can play with rather than just stare at. I have relegated my dragons to display since I feel they are not made to be played with, I had a misconception that since they were diecast, they could be played with, like the old Force One toys, I was WRONG! Definitely feels like a model just made out of metal. So I hope the FOV version is durable, also I think it may be sold in target, target has their tanks and warbirds for a good price, and although they do not have as much weathering as the hobby editions, etailers and fans alike say the mass market ones actually look better(the weathered ones were grotesquely overdone). I also heard FOV will be putting out a VF-41 F-14A. I hope they do a VF-1 Wolfpack version as well.
11. Looks like it's an exact replica of the Hasegawa kit... right down to the huge friggin seam right behind the canopy. Yes it is an F-14A, but they still managed to malf things up. It's got the early F-14A gungrills on it (which by the time they squatting Otis was on the tail in 2000, they'd been using NACA ducts for almost 10 years... Not TOO bad on the paintscheme, but I would've made the glove-sealing plates a less obvious shade of green... nothing 5 minutes and a paintbrush can't cure though. Also, I'm fairly certain the aircraft didn't have black piping on the outer edges of the wings and h-stabs. I'll look through my pics to check that out though. [Edit: Ok, checked my photos, it DOES have the black piping... that's good!] 373327 I find it amazing that Forces of Valor is making a more accurate tomcat than Dragon. Dragon is slipping hardcore!
12. Best pic I could find http://www.diecastdirect.com/asp_modules/a...uctCode=FV85037 This is the FOV one....WAY better than the first one! And its an actual F-14A too!
13. BRILLIANT IDEA!!I love it!
14. Forces of VAlor has a new 1/72 F-14A tomcat coming out that does not look panel lined to death. its a VF-154 black knights bird, and I hear its a new mold. Anyone else see this thing or have more info?
15. Hey guys I assume the GPS-1 makes the valk heavy. Anything to look out for when the armor is on?(tripping over, balance issues, et al). The only qc problem I hear of is the design of the chest armor and the hinge, but other than that it seems problem free for the most part. And the pics look GORGEOUS! Good pics fellas!
16. from f2f And then Raijin optimus from f2f chimed in again
17. That reminds me of that one joke MPC custom that kidkorrupt made years back with funky bright colors. LOL. Anyways I am stil hoping that the VF-0S is actually close to 1/55 scale, the so called bigger than 1/60 roy figure in the cockpit is giving me hope!
18. Are you serious! I thought it ROCKED!!! We are all entitled to our own opinions. I haven't posted in a while, but I had to chime in here on this. Just finished watching and First of all, this is not anime so you can't expect it to be. If you like super heroes/ comics this is a MUST! This is not the original Avengers, but the Ultimate Avengers which is a modern take on the classic Marvel heroes. If you are an Ultimate Avengers fan REJOICE!!! If you are familiar with the Avengers and are open to a retelling of the characters which retains the drama between the characters you must pick this up! They do a really good job of character development seeing how they are limited within the time restraints of a movie and not a whole series BTW Nick Fury with Samuel L Jackson cool is SWEET! There is also a first look of UA 2. NICE!!! AND the animation is sharp, color full and well detailed and sound was very well done! If you have a nice system, it looks very NICE! 372622 If ya liked that, Iron Man the animated movie is coming in in october.
19. I'm actually hoping its 1/55 scale, just labeled 1/60 scale, so my bandais have something to do ACM with! (yamato labeled the VF11B 1/72 scale even though the true scale was 1/68-65 for durability purposes).
20. Masterforce. Ginrai was the human who had Prime's new body since Prime wasn't around to get it. Ginrai himself turned into the engine and then plugged into the trucks chassis enabling the transformation. The small robot could fold and plug into the trailer forming Super Ginrai. Then combine with the drone God Bomber to become God Ginrai.
21. LOVING the gloss paint job on the VF-0S! The adaptor is a GREAT idea! Man, if the camo valk had shades of GREY rather than a SE Asia camo, something tells me it would actually look "low viz" and MOST of us would want it!
22. SEA camo schemes have the underside painted light grey if at all, never white. However later SEA schemes were wrap around with no grey undersides (see here and here). As for missiles never being painted green, what do you call this? Or this? 372167 I meant A2A missles, I should have mentioned this earlier. Thanks for the links, I had no idea they had a wrap around SEA camo.
23. Yes but yamato has always emphasized the fighter mode.......that is why I think it should have a realistic camo scheme, not an all arounder. Besides, even in battroid most of it would still be camo, aside from the legs.
24. Roger from Collection DX and Toybox DX spoke with George Sohn at Toyfair. apparently part of their plan for this scale line is to make destroids and enemy mecha. Read it here: http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery/Featur...ir/2006/Toynami 372151 You linked to the gallery, I kinda beat ya to it buddy, I linked the report in an above post of mine. I definitely take it as confirmation that we are getting armor and enemy mecha! I keep having visions of a 1/100 qrau and battle pods duking it out on stands with a 1/100 VF-1S strike or GPS-1 armored valk. The best thing about this 1/100 scale line is the fact that not only is it cheap, but its got potential to encompass many neglected mecha and enemy mecha alike not touched upon on the bigger, more expensive, higher end scales. And lets hope George Sohn did not forget destroids either.
25. I'd like it more if the entire underside of the plane was white, the tailfins with white trim on the rudders, and if the god forsaken missles and pods were at least WHITE if not a more missle like color. GREEN MISSLES AND PODS? It looks so GARISH!~! That only works on bombs man!~ I think if the head were white it might look better too, or all black, it could be likened to the TRAM system on the A-6E's fueselage mounted underneath the chin, and could look like a FLIR system as well with the green eyepiece. The stealth one....now if the production version looks nearly the same as that, its still a keeper. The matte/light gray tones remind me of matte RAM painted surfaces. Thats just a bad ass scheme, bravo to whoever came up with that one!
