RONIN WARRIORS!
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I hope Tamashii makes ALL of them, I just hope none of them are web exclusives. To be honest, I'd actually be happy with SH Figuarts versions with armor sculpted on. I have the Armor Plus Ryo, and while it's cool, I feel that the amount of removable armor could've been decreased, some of the armor pieces molded together in lieu of being all separate. I rarely took the armor off and on, it's tedious to go back and forth. Articulation, detail and sculpt are great. -
Ah, more than likely, we'll have to put the stickers on ourselves, all of their closed box vehicles from recent years were like that. Sky Striker box is closed in lieu of window. I had the 89 Crusader Shuttle, that thing was awesome. Wanted the Hurricane, never had it though. Seems like the vertical stabilizers on the Sky Striker are molded in black. About time! Always looked better that way.

The Skystriker in the panel slides also showed 2 seats, I think that and the Starscream image were just placeholder images, like quick repaints of vintage samples to give an idea of what the paint masks will look like, and not indicative of the final product. The wings may have been reinforced and made detachable for possible parts swap for later releases. I don't know if Hasbro would go that for but I'm just openly speculating. Look at how the 25th Ghost HAWK and POC Ghost HAWK differ, same body, all swappable parts from the 25th one were swapped for new ones with the POC version. The Flying Fighters missles were too small for the Sky Striker! They look like training missles on it, haha. Stickers, yea we'll probably have to put them on ourselves, Hasbro released the Python Conquest and Tiger Rat like that. As for the Night Raven, original mold is intact. Hurricane? Broken. It was going to be used for JoeCon 2010 as an exclusive but the mold broke. I think a Night Boomer is likely. Being that Hasbro went through the effort to make an all new mold based on the original Sky Striker, and cut new tools for it, I think they are going to repaint it like none other. I don't mind actually.

That Black Dragon is big in the show IIRC. The toy makes it look like a futuristic FANG II, which I can dig. Would have preferred if it was named FANG III in lieu of Black Dragon. Target for me. They have endcap displays for wave 3. Not sure. Some wonder if the FLAGG is one of the "30 for 30" toys, but I doubt it. Interestingly enough, the designation for the new Skystriker is not XP-14F like the old one, but is now XP-21F. Looks more like an F-14A than Tomcat 21 though.

Transformers Super Thread 9
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to eriku's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yeah the solicit showed the CGI image(I think) of Prime with his armor on from the movie. So I think this may be TakaraTomy's alternative to that DOTM Ultimate Optimus. The MSRP is ¥12,000, while Buster Prime was around $90+ shipped from Japan. So it very well may be Buster Prime retooled with add on Jetfire armor(only way more accurate this time). Hmm...maybe that's why TakaraTomy canceled the Unite voyager Prime+Jetfire armor. -
I would not be surprised if that was the case. I'm actually surprised that the weapon attachment points remain the same. What I'm ITCHING to find out is if the wings and landing gear are still interconnected. Aside from my aforementioned comments I'm really happy that we are finally getting the Sky Striker. Honestly, I didn't think we were going to see much at Toy Fair. I'm glad I was wrong. Maybe the canopy could have been changed too...if Ace were to eject with that thing still on, I'm sure hitting the frame would hurt pretty bad. Of course I'm buying more than 1. Gonna customize at least 1. SHOCKED to see that the MSRP is $29.99. Haha. I think so, Duke from POC wave 3 has one too.

Today, Hasbro revealed their new Sky Striker, which is now a 1 seater($29.99), and more stuff for their GI Joe 30th Anniversary Line. 30 for 30 plan, 30 of the best GI Joe toys will be released in the line. I guess the new Sky Striker counts as 1. Also shown are new Renegades, Pursuit of Cobra figures, et al: OMG Even More Toy Fair 2011 GI Joe Show Floor Images GI Joe Hasbro Toy Fair 2011 Official Images GI Joe SDCC 2011 Exclusive Starscream Sky Striker With Cobra Commander Megatron GI Joe 2011 And Renegades 3-3/4th Figure Images GI Joe SDCC Zarana GI Joe 2011 Vehicles Images GI Joe 2011 Modern Sky Striker Images Enjoy! I like that Sideshow inspired Storm Shadow.

Yamato 1/60 VF-19 Fire Valkyrie
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Hmm maybe the entire faceplates(eyes+mouth) will be molded in translucent green, but with the mouth parts painted? Only thing I'd worry about is paint scratching. -
I agree, I'm surprised we haven't seen them re-released yet.

If it's on par or better than the VF HI METAL VF-1, then YES I would buy it! I'm surprised we haven't seen it yet. Maybe Bandai's waiting to release a VF HI METAL YF-29 first.

I think the part in front of the head is optional. -
My Max VF-1J has busted polycaps and a busted ball joint cup for the display stand.

Most Desired 1/60 VF-19 Excalibur
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
After seeing the latest Fire Valk pics from Wonder Festival, while the VF-19E isn't what I'd want to see most, I'd still like to see it nonetheless. A Fire Valk in military colors plus the VF-19F's head.....that has potential right there, and it's very easy to pull off once Yamato tools up the VF-19F. I think a VF-19E is inevitable. -
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
From what I read, CRA(Close Range Assault) can be enabled once you get close enough, right behind the enemy plane and hit L1 or R1. Those who played the demo stated that even if you activate CRA, you can still miss so CRA does not guarantee a kill. It can also be used in multiplayer. F-14D is confirmed in the game and playable too. Hopefully the aircraft selection is more like Ace Combat 5/Joint Assault than Ace Combat 6. If PSP can have an ass-load of planes there's no reason why the next gen consoles can't have a wider selection. -

Interesting, that V2 1/60 VF-1 with photo-etched parts has a removable randome. -
Official 1/100 BANDAI Hi-Metal VF-1S Valkyrie with Strike Parts
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Actar's topic in Toys
I'm probably going to buy one too, eventually, I dig the sculpt and from what I read, they are very easy to transform while being very fun to pose. I love highly poseable battroid modes! Plus the way the vertical stabilizers/backpack are arranged in fighter mode...it seems different to me but it looks good. -

I tried putting the fixed pose V2 1/60 VF-1's hands into the 1/48's lower arms, but they don't fit all the way. Was anyone able to connect the the V2 hands to their 1/48's?

Tamashii=Bandai, or rather, their collectors' division. However in that news post I did not state that the specific designer of the HCM worked on the VF HI METAL. I said that the VF-1 is not new to Tamashii since Bandai made the HCM back in the 80's. I don't know if the HCM designer(s) remained at Bandai or moved on.

I don't think the Macross Zero releases did well. I'm actually surprised Nora's SV-51 didn't sell out quickly when it was heavily clearanced at HLJ more than once. It was there for quite a while, and even with EMS shipping, the price was a steal, for something that big and with the MSRP it carried. The fact that it only took a few months for the VF-0 Renewal Versions last year to be clearanced wasn't a good sign either. If anything I think the shoulder issues that plagued everything before the Renewal VF-0 releases(aside from the 0S/Ghost bundle) scared fans off from buying later releases. That or Macross Zero just wasn't that popular in Japan. It's a shame really, because the sculpts are wonderful, I don't think Yamato would revise the sculpts on the VF-0 and SV-51. Quality control could have been a lot better, and the seeping rubber from the shoulder sockets on my Renewal VF-0's is irritating. Maybe the VF-0 toys were too ambitious for their time, I dunno, but they feel very dated compared to Yamato's V2 1/60 VF-1 toys. The torn/seeping rubber issues on my VF-0's has not occurred at all on my V2 1/60 VF-1's, and though they share similar designs, the V2 1/60 VF-1 is far more refined. As impossible as chances may be, I still hope for a VF-0D by Yamato.

Hikaru's VF-1J looks pretty neat, and I dig some of the changes on the VF-1D. Do Max and Roy's VF-1's look any different, than their TV counterparts, or are Hikaru's VF-1J and the VF-1D the only ones changed(aside from canopy/cockpit)?
