Aircraft Vs Super Thread! 2
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Nied's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Hey guys we never talked much about ww2 aces in the super thread that got archived. And for that matter, sabre and MIG-15 aces. Discuss! Who do you think are the most succesful aces from ww2 and korea? BEst in european and japanese and korean theatre? Anyone like the MIG-15 over F-86? And what was up with the Dog Saber>? Was that a radar in there? Also any info on the "old crow" P-51 would be greatly appreciated. -

Fans@botcon said the neog1 starscreamer they saw was an F-15. And the sizes so far are deluxe and voyager, no basic yet. BTW the lists are very similar to the cybertronian insider lists that were revealed a few months back. -

they never marketed the ACTIV or M/STD for export, both were tech demonstrators, so I doubt the F-15X is an ACTIV. Its like sukhoi, or MIG, niether the Su-47 or MIG 1.44 were ever produced in numbers for export nor advertised as such. Also the avionics in the raptor are a lot easier to use than the eagles, so it shouldn't be difficult for the eagle pilots to transition. Remember the eagle still has gauges and dials, the F-22 is for the most part, equipped with a glass cockpit. I don't see the need for more explosive rounds. What the US guns lack in firepower, they make up in quantity. The Russians do the opposite. Besides it would add weight to the fighter, and more weight is not good. I just keep enviosioning that JASDF will get a japanese strike eagle with the latest enhancements with somethings omitted, and get the newest GE engines on par with the F-15K. And if you played the flight sims....the F-22's got a hell of a lot easier to use avionics and flight systems than the eagle. -

I agree. Not to mention the JASDF is already familiar with the F-15 and judging by the advancement of technology built into the later models, I assume transition to a newer version of the eagle would be a lot faster than one to the F-22. Not to mention they just need to add a few more things to the logistics chain, not an entire facility dedicated to a new plane with no commonality at all with any other JASDF plane. -

My money's on the F15X. They've already got the logistics and support, and it would not surprise me if boeing let mitsubishi license build them(its happened before). Not to mention the JASDF is already familiar with the type, and its got the range they need for antishipping. I assume the F-15X is another teched out strike eagle, like the one Korea is getting and the one being offered to Singapore. It would also not surprise me if it came with AESA and AIM-9X. Flight training might be easier as well since this is a newer eagle, this should be easier to fly than the F-15J, and plus the JASDF is already familiar with it. IF anything it would just need WSO training and some pilot familiarity. But this can be accomplished by pairing an F-15J pilot with a F-4E WSO or F-15DJ WSO. Then both can familiarize themselves and it shouldn't be too hard of a transition. Eurofighter, F-22, and superbug would all take a whole new logistics chain, and pilot training and familiarity. *Not to mention, perhaps an F-15J/DJ could be retrofitted into becoming an F-15X? Thus saving the JASDF even more money since they can make new versions out of older existing models* -

Anyone hear that NASA might be interested in F-14D's? I read it over at tomcatsunset.org. I say it'd be sweet! Hopefully they mod it with GE F1120 engines with TVC to see the affect or enhancements that TVC would bring to a swingwing bird. Hey they gave the ACTIV, F-16XL, Blackbird, and Crusader a new life as test planes, why not the supercat? -

As much as I like primal, I find lions to be more exciting than gorillas. Not to mention it had the most g1 colors of all the beast convoys. And I already have big convoy and yes I agree he kicks ass. -

SOOO true man! Anyways its been said time and time again that in the toy industry, 15,000 units isn't even limited, its more along the lines of a standard production run. And Tommy Yune compared it to the B-2's production run. I can't think of what's funnier, A-the fact that he compared it to the B-2 or B-the fact that he thought we would all fall for it. And I do agree, 10k sounds like a good starting amount. -

Oh he's a beatiful transformer. He looks amazing. It's just i had no idea he was so small compared to the likes of Megalo Convoy and Supreme Starscream. I figured he was right at their height or a little taller. Just seems odd because he's such an imposing character in the Cybertron/Galaxy Force line i figured he would be the biggest or tied for in that respect. As for robot masters leo convoy. I've got him and he's a great little toy. I don't have the original so i can't say if he's a worth second purchase, but for the 25 dollars i spent for him at a local import store i'm happy with what i got. 389400[/snapback] Oo can you post pics of him? and how tall is he in comparison with the cybertron deluxes? I am considering getting him(reading the new beast wars comic and seeing him play a leader role as well as Don Figueroa drawing him kinda does that to ya). The thing I am antsy about is his size, every gallery I see him in makes him look like a basic figure rather than a deluxe. -

I am guessing C2 or V-22. A V-22 would look awesome but I assume the space inside isn't large enough to wield guns. Who knows? guys go to patricksaviation.com, a TON of videos! Quality varies but they have most of the Fighter fling vids, and some hornet ball. They have a TON of sukhoi videos, they look like vids sukhoi put out in Russia. Very cool. The Russians got a thing for technoclassical music. The best vid I have seen is the strihzi vid of the MIG-29 acrobatic team stationed at Kubinka. Knight if you don't already have this I think you'll get a kick out of it. Very cool, a must have for any fulcrum fan. The SU-30MKI demos on there are MOUTHWATERING. God that thing can move! If that thing had american avionics....man that thing would kick more ass than it already does. -
You might want to make space for the avenger, its HUGE! Its also confirmed for walmart as well, the atlantic gray and flight 19 schemes. I heard that 54.99 might be the price for it at walmart. I don't think the 1/18's are too big, they are true to scale after all, and that is what a lot of us wanted growing up, a gijoe vehicle that WASN'T out of scale! And plus...if its big and I want it, I'll move stuff around and make space. Which is why I still moan for a phantom and tomcat...they'd be the biggest 1/18ers by far but would be phenomenal. Cool pics myk! Can't believe you actually have a defiant! I remember seeing it when I was 4 and saying "HOLY CRAP its a 100$ and HUGE....my God, I'll never have it". Lucky dog you! 21st makes the P-47 and BBI makes the UH60, F/A-18 and apache. The hornet, apache, and falcon are all being reissued this year. Falcon coming in summer I think. BTW anyone have it? I notice that not as many collectors I know of bought the falcon. And I do think BBI will make a hellcat since a prototype was on show@fall toyfair. Also BBI has an old crow P-51 coming out. The killer one looked awesome, anyone have it? And myk do you have pics of your other stuff?

Tired Of The Toy Hunt
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Roy Focker's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
God man I definitely agree! I NEVER found any anakin evolutions sets after xmas. Hell during xmas and during december even it was nowhere to be found. ditto for the SITH pack. Marvel Legends? The distribution on there could be the opposite of legendary. Holy crap has that line been hard to find! Its hard to tell exactly what the hell you can find from it! I have NEVER SEEN DEADPOOL OR HULKBUSTERIRONMAN OR JUGGERNAUT EVEN ONCE WITH MY OWN EYES! Same with Hawkeye! I only saw wave 8 once, then POOF onslaught of shelf hogging wave 9 comes around. I thought the day would never come where star wars figures would be hard to find. Boy was I wrong. 3 months after initial release, the shelf clogging clone pilots dissapeared from shelves. Good thing I bought the clone commander very early on in may! Seems to me only gijoes and transformers are in one's reach during toy runs. Everything else you either gotta be the first to get or donate limbs to get. -
Just thought it would lessen the need for multiple topics on the same subject...and I know every now and then gijoe or 1/18 stuff is brought up, so I figure, why not? I collect star wars as well. Have you picked up any of the evolutions sets Roy? I am about to FINALLY get some!(they sold out over x mas....kids got to them before I did....poor college guys like me not getting to the shelves till AFTER they have been mauled by kids and their moms for xmas!) Also did you hear about the jedi starfighter from ep3 being repainted into TIE fighter colors for vader? Apparently its based on a design in one of the novels. Sweet! Also his signature TIE is coming out...as well as Mace Windu's starfighter. Now if only they would release the ARC-170 Also other rumor is that the ATAT is confimed from TRU exclusives and will retail for 89.99 Holy hell I wish I bought an ATAT back in 98 @kb when they were going for a mere 15.99. Damn it!

Me and a bunch of other guys asked Mike from BBI a bunch of times, the response we got was "wait and see" and cryptic comments. We once asked why the hell a foam A-10 was shown@fall toyfair 2005 up on display with the BBI 1/18 realistically scaled toys. At this point, figures.com stated that BBI was releasing a 1/18 A-10 in 2006. I believe Mike also said that whatever was shown at a fall toyfair was indicative of what we might see later in the preceeding year. So this leads us to believe that BBI meant that foam A-10 as a placeholder and that a realistically scaled A-10 will be released this year. There was also a hellcat on display and he said wait and see for that as well. 21stcenturytoys.com's AREA 21 section had an interview with Roy Sutherland about the XD line, and the A-10 proto they showed off but cancelled years back was brought up. Turns out it wasn't destroyed as the rumor went, and it was actually still around! I forgot what they said but for what its worth YES the prototype still exists but not sure if they are intent on putting it out. But with BBI and admiral toys being good competitors and raising the level of competition exponentially(remember for YEARS 21st was the only company doing true 1/18 scale airvraft), I thnk we got a good chance an XD A-10 wil come out. And zero mare I'll snap some pics when I get access to my stuff later this week

Hello people. Quite a number of you including myself collect 1/18 scale figures and vehicles. A lot of you like MIcroman. I LOVE Gijoes and just recently got into the realistic scaled 1/18 stuff that BBI, 21st century toys, and admiral toys are putting out. The "joe scale" stuff still appeals to me as well, as I grew up with gijoe and could look past the vehicles and their out of scale sizes. This is thread for news, pics, thoughts and discussion! I'll post pics of some of my stuff next week when I have access. Now for some news -21stcenturytoys.com's AREA 21 section just posted up pictures of 2 things, the F-86 and MIG-15 prototypes! The pics shown are outdated and apparently they are a lot farther along on these things than we thought. The pics were just teasers, apparently they are so much farther along on the actual protos that they outshine the ones shown in the pics. Accessable gunbays and moving parts are shown! *note you have to sign up for AREA 21 but its free* -The Avenger is coming ashore soon! Badcataviation.com has pictures of the painted model and has 3 versions up for preorder! The bunker hill version is exclusive to them. The atlantic and Flight 19(WITH ALIENS AS WELL) versions are coming to walmart and hobby stores! They should be on the water either now or soon. FINALLY!! -21st century toys is releasing their 1/18 ME-262 in summer. Admiral toys is also releasing an ME-262 in summer(Admiral toys is the newest competitor in the fray) -F-104 "Smoke II"(SEA Camo) is set for release in May. The luftwaffe F-104 is already out at walmart for 39.99! -21st also released their retooled P-51 lately. Some people say its not as good as BBI's others say the lack of weathering hurts it. Some say it is just slightly better than BBI's. *note the later releases of this will feature the gunlockers showed off@SDCC last year). -The DTC(Direct to Consumer) gijoe figures, vehicles, and comic packs are now@TRU!! Here are the prices *3 3/4 single figure-5.99 *comic 3 pack-11.99 *HISS tank/Night ops humvee-16.99 *6 pack figure sets-24.99 *ROCC-49.99 Not sure how much the RHINO is supposed to cost. But I am overjoyed to see Gijoe back in retail! Prices are not too shabby either! Post pics, news, thoughts, and such here!

MasterPiece Collection v1.1
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Dangard Ace's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
O m,y goodness. THanks for the review!~ VERY informative! Can't help but think i may get a lemon. I think the diecast was a good thing but it was placed in the WRONG places. Several members have mentioned it was nice but wasn't put for the sake of durability, just for the sake of "just cause". Its a beautiful toy no doubt. Strong ratchets should have been placed in the shoulders. I hope toynami makes a version 2 where some parts that needed to be diecast are diecast, and some parts that didn't need to be are plastic. Seems like this could have very well been the end all of alphas, but marred by very easily rectifiable mistakes at the factory. I'll pick it up at a con if I see it for cheap. -

Hey jenius, in your opinion, which had higher quality, the VF-1 MPC or the alpha? I didn't think the VF-1's were horrible(I got them far less than msrp MIB), and am debating on getting an alpha if I see it cheap.
