  1. I got mine last year when Ami ami had it up. I was definitely looking forward to it. If you have any of the later Yamato releases, like the V2 1/60 VF-1, VF-11, YF-21, et al, the VF-0 feels dated in comparison. My VF-0A is a 2010 reissue, it got some stress marks on the hip clips(keeps the swing bar in place in fighter/gerwalk modes), and legs where the tabs lock in. Just be careful when releasing the leg, going from fighter to gerwalk, pushing forward and downwards on the knees to release them. Push them inward while doing so too I think. There is rubber seeping out of the arm joints on mine, this will lead to looseness eventually. Ultimately the sculpt is great I can't really see Yamato improving it. Most important, the arms have not self destructed. The bad thing is the aforementioned rubber seepage. If anyone knows of a way to tighten the shoulders once the rubber wears off, let me know. The VF-0 toys are kind of like lemons, they LOOK great but ultimately Yamato has moved so far past them. I like them but wish they were substantially better.
  2. I might be wrong but IIRC someone here had a few issues with his reissue 1/48. I got a reissue VF-1J early last year, and the right hip is loose. Overall the V2 1/60 VF-1S is much tighter.
  3. Crossing fingers this thing does not have a dreaded shoulder issue like some of the V2 1/60 VF-1's had. I want ratchets all.over.this.toy.
  4. What did you coat it with? The reason I ask is because the rubber coverings for my VF-0's are wearing down, I know they will loosen eventually. Was thinking I might try whatever coating them with whatever you used.
  5. Dude that VF-1J is a great score, I'd open it, that price is a GREAT bargain, lowest I've ever seen it offered by an etailer, even before the recession! Not to mention it's a great toy. Just wish the right hip on mine wasn't freaking loose!
  6. GI Joe Renegades Possibly Canceled
  7. Must be why Northrop and Mcdonnell ditched it for their NATF YF-23 proposal(which looked a lot different than I thought it would look). BTW I was reading an aircraft magazine recently(forgot which, it's in Barnes n Nobles though), and there were images of an F/A-18C painted like a Hellcat. It's an homage to an old WWII squadron. Looked rather neat.
  8. There is a possibility that they make it to retail stores afterwards. Initially they will be sold through mattycollector.com. Bring back MASK and the Centurions 1st!
  9. FLEX/Nishikawa FTW! Now hopefully he takes a stab at the DX VF-25 after the 29.
  10. To anyone who watched movie 2...did the YF-29
  11. I agree, I think the only set that might be okay as is, is the Tornado Armor. Also I hope that if the 25 is redone, that each variant has an accurate/unique chestplate, that way the necessity for an extender joint for the 25S neck won't be necessary.
  12. I think a redone VF-25 with improvements from the 27 and 29 is inevitable. This is just me thinking aloud, but I think it was already being worked on, but Big West/Kawamori came in telling Bandai that a new VF(YF-29) would be introduced in movie 2 and would play a substantial role. Which may have resulted in the redone VF-25 pushed back after movie 2 and the release of the YF-29. This gives Tamashii ample reason to release redone VF-25's of the core cast for Macross 30th next year, or start later this year. I really want a VF-25F toy and if Tamashii truly does make a DX with the improvements carried over from the 29, I'll most likely buy it. I don't see why the Armor packs wouldn't be compatible but ideally I hope we'd get newer ones which reduce strain on the body.
  13. I dunno, Macross 7 in general struck me as Kawamori's way of saying " $%^&*()P)))))&^%%^& all of you, you want me to make sequel upon sequel for this brand when I want to move on? Alright HAVE AT IT, your Roy Focker is dead, you get VISUAL KEI INSTEAD!", so for trying to make an artistic expression, when I was younger I felt this was kind of a ballsy move for Kawamori and then,....pretty cool. Later I watched some of 7, meant to finish, still haven't, it's not so bad. With that said the mouthguard comes with the toy and for that, I'm happy. Just hope the toy is molded in crimson red.
  14. Are you talking about the green/olive VF-19EF? It's grown on me as well.
  15. The DX line seems like it did alright. I mean it didn't stop abruptly like the VF100's line did. I'm guessing it must have done alright for Tamashii to continue pushing out releases even until now. I hope Tamashii will eventually make something that is not prone to looseness over time, and is as high quality as their SOC's. Hopefully the 29, quality-wise, is a step in the right direction, and I'd love to see a 25 with improvements carried over from the 27 and 29.
  16. Much appreciated Vifam, hopefully at least some of the aforementioned toys do reach fruition either before, or for, Macross 30th. Every time I hear toy designers say "if the opportunity is there", it usually means "yeah we're already working on it we just need a spot to open/free up in the toyline(s)", at least this has happened with US companies. Might be the same for Japan. The easiest route is using the DX YF-29 parts and mating them with some of the DX VF-25 parts. 29 looks cool...need to see more pics.
  17. After a certain "appearance", I would not be surprised at all if we get a V2 1/60 YF-19 for 2012/Macross 30th.
  18. GI Joe 2 Jon M Chu Set To Direct Our section for movie news: GI Joe Movie 2 Each time Chu was asked about Justin Bieber in GI Joe 2, he laughed, he was kidding when he suggested him, E!Online ran with it, but even stated that he was just kidding. As for whether this movie will be better than ROC, who the hell knows. One can only hope.
  19. Can you elaborate? I only took 1 year of Japanese and that was years ago...so it would take a while for me to figure out what they said from those scans.
  20. It does have a twist at the knees/thigh swivels.
  21. No, START! That and the YF-17!
