The 2nd Coming of the YF-19
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Its 1/68-67 scale. Way back when it was about to come out, they said it was scaled up since the original 1/72 prototype was too fragile. I say all NEW tooling for a 160 VF-11!!!!! And hey for guaranteed sales, throw in Max and Milia types from M3. That way we have 3 paint schemes! Or that Dark purple tinted grey with orange trim one from Macross Plus. -

You and me both! The VF-11 NEEDS to be redone! It was such a beaut in Macross Plus and looked phenomenal in the screentime it had! -

Would You Buy A New Perfect Variable 1/60 Vf-1?
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
But that's EXACTLY why a lot of us want the toys in the same scale - so we can imagine them as if they DID appear together! "Cheaper quality?" NEVER!!!! 412691 I think he meant "cheaper, yet HIGH quality" -
not here... seriously, which part of Macross only topics don't you guys get? 412682 Sorry EXO!

Most Wanted Unproduced Macross Toy By Yamato
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
Holy crap, the VF-2SS is still leading and the SV-51 is right behind it. I didn't expect these results! Pretty intriguing!! =) -
Took me a couple hours last week. He ended up looking filipino LOL(which I am). Anyways, felt an itch to whip out some cell shading. So...no reference, drawn in pencil, then inked, then colored in PS7. Took I think 3-4 hours...maybe less I forget. *BTW mods I didn't know where else to put this*

maybe the flight suits could come in accessory kits w/helmets & other paraphanelia. that way you guy don't need to pay 80$ per figure w/dif costume

Most Wanted Unproduced Macross Toy By Yamato
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
Wha? I always thought the battroid mode looked BEAST. I mean totally different than the VF-1, and looked way more powerful. Looked like it could royally kick the VF-1's ass hand to hand in that mode. -
Would You Buy A New Perfect Variable 1/60 Vf-1?
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
I never had a problem with the sculpt and proportions of the 1/60. I just wished it was Perfect variable. I think by removing the diecast and implementing a similar system used in the 1/48, perfect variability could be possible. That and unhindered shoulders and missles that stick onto the wings. The 1/60 never had a BP8 to worry about as well. -

Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Hey as long as the YF-19 doesn't look like the nose is pointed low like on the 1/72 toy then I can LIVE with the bulge on the bottom. I always hated that on the first one. I presume this bulge is to house a longer landing gear and make the fighter stand more upright. -

I completely forgot about that. I think that was cancelled, I forget though. The SDF-1 talked about at the con was along the lines of the MPC line. -

Good point! Lets hope they do one soon! @the robotech panel@AMA someone asked about the SDF-1 and Steve Yun said it was always on Toynami's "to do" list but they still have not got around to it. I've always thought Yamato would come out with an SDF-1. I bet it'll be out spring-summer 2007(it'd be about time wouldn't it?). I'm pretty surprised by how many votes the VF-2SS is getting! Then again its one sleek beaut! -

The Bandai 1/65 scale VF-19Kai & VF-19S toys have terrible proportions in both fighter and battroid modes. In fighter mode, the LERX extend all the way to the hybrid sensors, which is completely wrong. Graham 412296 VERY! Its canards say it all. People like me thought it'd bea n nice follow up to the 1/55 VF-1, boy was I wrong@the age of 13. I always thought it looked like an FSW legioss. Its only saving grace was size, durability, and perfect transformation. -

Well out of 12 kits, only one has broken. Blitz fell over and knocked over the Aile Strike and broke 3 parts off from the Aile Pack (got pics of this horrible event if you wanna see ). The Strike itself was ok. Some others have fallen but no damage done. Hands are not all that great. They are 2 pieces. Some kits come with an extra open hand instead of a fist. 412283 So the hands, are they made of PVC? As long as they are fixed pose and can hold the weapons without getting loose, I'm happy! -
Hello people. I didn't include variants of the VF-1 of the VF-1D and ELINT since its a given a bunch of us want it. So I made a poll of what we hope yamato makes in the future sans VF-1 variants we have not gotten yet. I included valks that are obscure as well as things people have wanted for quite sometime. I left out destroids since Exo's already got them covered for the most part in another poll, besides I think most of us want destroids as well so putting them here would be a given. Perfect variability is a given, assume every transformable thing I mentioned will be perfect variable. So discuss! (I always wondered which was more wanted from here, a VF-2SS or VF-4?) *AWw crap mods can you fix the poll?*

Well the SEED kits are good. The SEED Destiny kits are slightly better. I was really impressed with 1/100 Infinite Justice. All I have left on that is the back pack, which I wil get around to later. Being compared to Wing 1/100, I must say they are much better than those. Define "handled" and "messed with" They are defenitly more poseable, if thats what you mean. Not all GS or GSD kits come with stands. Some 1/144 come with stands, but the only 1/100 kits for Destiny are the First Edition Strike Freedom, Destiny, and Infinite Justice. I think I saw a preview of the Legend with a stand, but I am not sure about it. Does anyone know if the Gundam X 1/100 are similar to the Wing 1/100? I am very tempted to order me some. Hopefully to last me till 1/100 Akatsuki I can only hope... 412263 I meant in regards to durability. Are they able to twist at the thigh as well? That would be awesome. I felt that the 1/100 wing kits were kind of durable but not exactly. In other words are the new SEED destiny 1/100 more durable than the 1/144 HGUC? And X looked very similar in construction to wing.....the lkits themselves were released not too long apart 412266 Well compared to my friends 1/100 Wing Zero Custom, the legs are more moveable. For instance my Astray Red Frame can kick a Gundam's head off in a pose. The Blitz legs are more manuvarble than most other ones I have. I dont have any 1/144 HGUC so I cant compare to that. I cant really complain about the ones I have. Its not like I am trying to make them do the splits though. Also the First Edition Destiny and Strike Freedom came with "action" hips as well as with stand. Infinate Justice did not recieve the same treatment. Actually I am lil upset with IJ because the stand hook just fits inside his thruster and not holding onto anything. Destiny and SF ones have a big holder that fits them perfectly. Sorry for the extra ramble.... 412280 Durability wise though, do you think they are easy to break? Or fairly tough? How about the hands do they have movable fingers or close gripped? Or at least tabs to help hold the weapons? -

Would You Buy A New Perfect Variable 1/60 Vf-1?
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
The way I see it a ton of us waited years and years for someone like bandai to come up with a all new VF-1 toy that would surpass the old 1/55 takatoku. The first thing on our minds was aesthetics. Wouldn't it be awesome if someone made a new VF-1 toy with way better looks than the 1/55, more accurate and transformable? That happened when yamato released the 1/60 way back in 2001. Then after that, a bunch of us wanted something with the same level of detail and accuracy if not higher, but PERFECT VARIABLE. In 2002, this happened with the 1/48. So now, in 2006 onward, I'd like to see a 1/60 valk under 100, heck under 80$ that is perfect variable. I miss the days of under 100$ valks! And I think we can all agree we'd all love a perfect variable VF-1 of high quality and detail for under 100$ -

I think they do a rough initial rough sculpture, then go to CAD, and then sculpt further refinements. I also think perhaps they come up with the transformation scheme. Maybe they come up with the overall aesthetic as well, Billy Wong did the 1/60 VF-1 primarily. Nishikawa did the 1/48 and it turned out way better and different. -

AWESOME!! The F91 is a beaut and it may be the first one I go all out and actually paint.(Just saw the anime@AMA, I liked it, rather fast though). BTW guys...how are the SEED and SEED Destiny HG models? They look more durable than the gundam wing 1/100s. Can these be actually handled and messed with? Do all of them come with stands? -

I think if bandai had just took the risk and done a PG line of macross they might get the right balance between toy and model. All those fine details would be there, and things like hands might start to feature individual fingers that you can open up and stuff. Because it is all in pieces it would be easy to pack in box. 412197 Oh I agree, in fact I'd love MG and PG kits. Its just that fans tend to compare the yammies so much to the hasegawa and scratchbuilds, and its such an unfair comparison. BTW the fire valk had such a squashed fighter mode, and the canards from the 1/100 kit. Talk about out of scale. -

Which is why I said they should release the fan fav paint schemes that never made it first. Like angel birds, Max TV VF-1A, stuff like that. Maybe even a max type Skull 1. Besides its painful for me to wonder "wat could have been" with the 1/60 whenever I stare at it. judging by the advancements yamato has made in the last 5 years, I wonder just tend to think a new 1/60 would kick all ass and provide something cheaper and lighter on the wallet for us while giving us something of high quality to fit in better with the VF-0 and upcoming YF-19
