1. Holy.........the landing gear look as good as they did on the bandai 1/.100 Fire valk kit!(I LOVED the fighter mode and gear on that one, and no mass market thing has ever come close...till now!). Bravo yamato! Sure their might be nitpicks, but sheesh this is the BEST YF-19 toy by FAR! Anyone ever notice how Yamato kicks their own ass before any other company can take them on in regards to their macross license? They beat themselves by making a 1.48 that outdid their 1/60, and just did with their 1/60 YF-19 tearing the crap out of the old 1/72. Wow
2. Its more of after infiltration, like kinda future but not far future. I don't really like Ej Su's artwork, it didn't appeal to me in gijoe vs tf, and still does not appeal to me in infilatration. I remember when I did some constructive criticism once and an assload of transfans flamed me for it. One of the biggest turn offs is lack of accuracy in alt modes. And the drawings just don't really jump out at me. Maybe its my bias because I am a diehard jetfan, who knows, maybe its because me majoring in illustration and not really seeing anything really spectacular in his work, but if anything, I think its a problem not limited to him but in the entire industry that barely ANYONE can draw a jet right! The F-22 alt modes for the seekers he draws are way off most of the time. I don't care if anyone tells me its "good enough". NO. That is no excuse to draw an overbloated F-22 that is very inaccurate and looks like something out of a coloring book. Even when he draws humans, eh its MHO but yea his work don't appeal to me. To each their own. Infiltration should have had Don or James Raiz on it. James Raiz rules. And for that matter NO I do not like Pat Lee's work either. Heck even Bryan Hitch, one of my personal faves(who I just figured out a few months back, worked on the OLD UK transformers g1 comics!) does not draw planes as well as he draws figures. The guy who draws Twilight X has EXCELLENT planes, so does Shimizu from Prowling Red Devil. Eh anyways. back to tf's. Hasbro ain't planning on bringing over MP Starscream at this time. But Kickback did provide this. "When I asked Hasbro about MP Starscream before, I got a "Sept 2007 at the absolute earliest, if at all". So you won't be seeing him here until next Christmas at the earliest." BTW guys takaratomy is doing some STARS club thing in japan. Their exclusives include Roller for MP-04, and Anime color Starscream. I don't want an anime color starscream, don't like the colors on the present one on the retailer scan, I want the OLD g1 toy Starscream colors! Baby blue does not work on a menacing toy....maybe it did in the cartoon but naw DARK blue looks better! As a matter of fact, the g1 seeker toys had the "definitive" colors for me. No baby blue thundercracker for me either!
3. The TV colors are a club exclusive.... To me the TV colors were too pale. The colors on the original toy were superior, darker, but still a good red, grey, and navy blue. TV one was too pastel like. And I hope this scan was just a digibash and not the real thing.
4. 417631 Did not transition well my ass. Damn uninformed reporters.
5. Titanium Jetfire IS WWI Jetfire. Classics Jetfire however, is supposedly based on the design Don made for the later G1 comics before DW fell, and the stormbringer comic, which just came out today. BTW go to tformers.com! New toy pics from SDCC preview night! New 6" transformable titaniums Optimal Optimus RID Super Optimus Prime WWI Starscream(said to be a thundercracker repaint) G1 Soundwave W/TRANSFORMABLE tapes!(Guys I hear the one in the photo is mistransformed!) G1 Rodimus Prime(trailer is not removed) G1 Scourge Looks like the 6" line is slowly becoming a war within line! 417569 Rodimus and Scourge look fan-FREAKIN-tastic! WOW! RID Prime is cool, but I'm not a huge fan of that Prime design. Same goes for Optimal Optimus. That version of Prime just looks awkward and wrong. Soundwave is...well...I really hope to god he's mistransformed, otherwise he can only be called "Daiper Soundwave". I'm sure he'll be as fantastic as Roddy and Scourge though. 417584 After lookin closely at it I think I can say for sure he is mistransformed. The chest needs to be slid down and so do the lower legs. Once you do this he does look farily well balanced. God they even mistransformed Jetfire! LOL geez the things companies do when showing off their own product.
6. To my knowledge the Super Hornet was chosen out of necessity. Since the Tomcat 21 program was axed and F-14D cut from full production, NATF being too expensive, the Navy had to either use the Super Hornet for its own air defense or multirole, or rely on the Air Force for air superiority and all that. Its another case of the eggs in a basket battle that they have been waging since the 50's. Welp better than nothing! Thing that impresses me most about the super bug is its growth potential.

8. Well as you pointed out, the F-414 wasn't a sure bet. the Super Hornet is seen as a generally successful example of modern procurement. I believe it was implemented using Cost as an Independant Variable managment, and was basically on cost and delivery without major flaws... which is a bit surprising when you look at other programs today. Imagine all the gripes you guys would give it IF it was overbudget and delayed? I'm almost assured that there will be a F-414 spiral to it, if it already isn't happenening today. In a 2003 article penned by the F/A-18E/F's project manager, he hints that there might be one. 417424 Whats a spiral? Is that an engine turbine or upgrade? Sorry I'm not too knowledgeable concerning engines.
9. None of wave 2 has been shown, but we do have the listings and semiconfirmation that the grimlock we saw a while back is indeed the classics version. I am hoping he comes with a sword, I could care less how he transforms(which is what a lot of fans are complaining about). One of the mods@tfw did see pics of these toys and he was the one who described Jetfire, then someone showed him a pic of Don's jetfire and he said it is very similar, if not the same. BTW he said us g1 jetfire fans will love it, its similar to the old toy with a different more cartoon accurate chestplate. Hell it even has the armor and its got a faceplate that can be put on or off(via hinge?). If anything that is exactly how Don drew Jetfire in the comic(or skyfire whichever, either way in the comic yes he does have a faceplate that he dons and can leave off).
10. The latest hobby mags with pics probably arent out yet.
11. Guys it might be earlier than that. Some say end of this month but most are saying august. November is the saturation date or might be the wave 2 release. Apparently one of the mods over@tfw says that jetfire blows all the others away. Jetfire's reportedly based on the way Don Figueroa is drawing him in the Stormbringer comic. poo thats out today too.... Anyways it is of no surprise to me being that he is designing them.
12. Oh I meant F110 being bigger than the F414/400 in my previous post.
13. Rumor has it 10th anniversary primal will be available in cybertron sans comic/ships for $9.99 later this year.
14. Isn't the F414 a bigger engine than the F110 though>? I would think it would need a major fueselage redesign to accomodate the engines. Also would redesigning the wings be beneficial as well?(To reduce drag+combined with F110=presumably faster SH). BTW is that meteor missle the UK is developing set to outdistance the phoenix? Just wondering as its rarely mentioned here. All I know is that the Typhoon is supposed to have it.
15. Yup your right, 31$ alone would be about right. Didn't realize it costs 36$ to get shipped, wow!
16. No way man! I usually see that thing in person for 35-50$. Wait unless it came with the G Defensor... Is it just the mobile suit alone or with the G Defensor?
17. He is referring to the alternator one. I have yet to pick it up but I tend to think he is not as bad as people say. its funny how a ton of people thought he sucks but the minute the black repaint showed up for SDCC everyone started bidding high on it for ebay. Funny these transfans can be at times.
18. Not bad man. The HG 1/100 line is very hit or miss. Back then, I HATED how the fingers were articulated! They got loose very quick and it was a huge turn off. I think the MG will impress you more. They are 1/100 as well but have way more articulation and are more durable(the recent ones for the past few years have ABS internal skeletons). Not to mention a lot more detail. The only reason I want some SEED 1/100 HG models is because right now its the only way to get the cool blue and awesome red astray as well as the sword impulse. If anything since the hands are fixed pose they can hold their weapons a ton better than the gundam wing 1/100s....had those had fixed pose hands I would not have been that dissapointed in them.
19. Not this again! The Rhino is stealthier, carries more, has way better sensors, is vastly more maneuverable and has way more legs. Not only is it worth it as a Baby hornet replacement it's a damn good Tomcat replacement to boot. GE is working on a higher thrust version of the F414, but AFAIK no TVC version. I don't know if TVC is really needed anyway, the Rhino is plenty maneuverable as it is. 417003 Oh don't get the wrong idea man, I wasn't trying to resurrect the years old tomcat vs hornet thread. I knew it had more range and better avionics. Is it really vastly more manueverable though? The legacy was pretty manueverable as well. I imagine the nose pointing ability on the super bug is superior. It is pretty impressive. I guess my underlying question was whether or not the l;egacy hornet needed to be replaced by the super hornet>? In other words, has it bridged the gap that far? Or just by a little bit?
20. THought of this today What does the FB-111A have over the F-111F? Why use the FB-111A? F-111F, A-6E, SU-24, Tornado IDS GR.4, Sepecat Jaguar, which is the better bomber? And for the sake of old times, Does the Super Hornet outdo the legacy hornet to the point of even worth being bought? The growth potential sounds very promising but other than that, it seems like the superhornet program could not outshine the legacy hornet's during its inception.(Then again to be fair, the legacy was the first dedicated multiroler for the navy made to do multirole, whereas the superhornet is the successor to it). In other words, seems like the legacy hornet broke more ground, where as the super hornet seems like it is just improving on it. Are there any plans to upgrade it with TVC or higher thrust engines?
21. Doubt it. From what I understand these will be sold in specialty and comic stores. places like Suncoast.
22. you know which one i'm talking about, its made by takatoku, you know the robotech one. 415896 Bandai also released that in DYRL as Hikaru's VF-1A/ Valkyrie factory used to have a comparison of the 1/55 vs the 1/100. I am not dissapointed by the price on these 1/100 toynamis either, partially because the toy looks SO much better than the old school takatoku/bandai 1/100. Not to mention more articulated and can have ARMOR attached!
23. Sometimes with people I just meet I hear "You paid THAT much?" But with my close friends "damn dude you always have the luck finding the hard to find stuff...DAMNNN thats awesome!"
24. That's pretty much what I was getting at too. It still looks like Starscream, but we dont' have the luxury of "anime magic" to make him look exactly like the cartoon character. 415788 I agree with the both of you! Hell most of the alternators look nothing like their cartoon model sheets and yet people love them to death. With Starscream not only do we have most of his g1 look intact, we also have his alt mode and FULL articulation. And when has this happened other than Tracks and Mp Prime? EXACTLY.
