Me personally I like the 1/48 a lot better because it is PT. I am not a big fan of swap transformations, to me it detracts from playability(unless its the SOC gunbuster which is diecast heaven). And shockwave, I remember yo0u from tfw..... and with those pics you just posted, you make me REALLY WANT TO BUY THE STEALTH VALKYRIE WITH STRIKE ARMOR ZOMG ITS FREAKING GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still have not seen these in the local area. Not at my comic shop or at suncoast. Have most of you bought these through etailers, or stores that sell both online and@b&m?>

post pics man! I've been trying to find him too!(the gorilla prime is cool too, if you look at both of them they way they were meant to be, as prime and megatron temporarily altered with beast modes on the jungle planet...they were always meant for cybertron they only went to the beast wars anniversary series first solely because product slots opened up). -
I don't mind the paint apps since its an endor version. However $90 is still a lot to plunnk down(had I been smart enough years ago back in 98, I would have bought the clearanced ATAT for $20). I go to this local comic shop and they sell the vintage ATAT's in box(these are the early 80s versions) for over $100 so that makes the new one still seem kind of a bargain but nonetheless, I still can't see myself buying it right away. Anyone think they will clearance the hell out of it? I am eyeing the clone gunship and the bigass wing TIE fighter. The tin packs look great too for the definitive versions of important characters such as Vader and such. Some of the Evolutions and VOTC figures are mixed into the tin packs.

In my experience, the TRU exclusives are easier to find than the Target exclusives. The last times the A wing and Slave 1 were released@target, I found it very hard to find them after I saw them for the first time. I think within 2-3 months most target exclusives are gone from shelves, whereas TRU exclusives usually last 4-5 months(they still have the clone wars gunships in VA from summer). I want them to reissue the B wing and A wing. If they redesigned them it would be cool, but I could settle for the existing releases. I want them to reissue the TIE bomber and TIE interceptor. Those are the most interesting and diverse of the TIE series. Does anyone have the snowspeeder and ATAT? Is the ATAT worth the $90 that TRU is charging for the new one? Just wondering. This year seems to be THEE year for adding original trilogy vehicles to your collection. I am debating buying the target snowspeeder, and if I get that, I need the ATAT. The ATAT looks awesome but I can't help but think its just a room with legs. Perhaps one of you can change my mind. Axelay do you have a link for the rumored reissues? Heres to hoping they reissue the Millenium Falcon again next year! I forgot to pick one up last year.

Actually everything is painted on with the newest release(Dagobah X wing Red 5). Not sure if Red Leader and the 2002 version were. The new dagobah version also includes swamp moss and some dragon creature. And a Luke w/light saber. The cool thing is, his left hand is molded open and I realized he is supposed to mimic Luke when he lifted the swamp covered X wing out of the swamp! That is cool. The reason I like the new model compared to the 2002 is simply because the 2002 version has the black engine intakes, the weathering on mine is not as severe. Both great models though, and I think the 2002 one had the R2 included. I bought an electronic R2 with lights and sounds but he was a loose fit so I stuffed paper cushions in so he stays in the cockpit. Either way this mold is truly the definitive and any star wars fan NEEDS it.

It surprised me that Snarl never got a repaint from hasbro. I need to find him as well. I don't think the cannon is too big for Red Alert, I was actually impressed that he got upgraded hardcore weaponwise. It really makes the deluxe red alert look like a medic. The bigger defense version looks like a centurian juggernaut by comparison. I actually think cybertron Prime has a mazinger influence in super mode. The big red wings, the slightly pissed looking face..it worked for me. Not to mention a great mazinger homage when combined with Wing sabre since he has swords. Hmmm....maybe thats a grendizer homage too due to the yellow black and red combo+the wings?>! That would be cool if that was the intent! -

Holy crap man thats pricey!! I do want to get the cybertron defense team. For the first time in a long time an upgrade of a character is actually an all new toy rather than a repaint! That alone has me excited. Not to mention the defense team characters have such improved designs over their originals. Red Alert seems like overkill but thats cool and scattershot looks badass. Cybertron Prime has to be one of the best primes ever made. Opening matrix chamber, solid parts, VERY durable and articulated so much better than past primes. The gimmicks are incorporated well and I must say tis a shame he will be overshadowed so much by classics prime(which is also an awesome prime but man cybertron prime I think deserves more cred than he usually gets). Don't get me wrong, I like classics prime I believe a bit better but cybertron prime is definitely a must buy and quite possibly the best figure out of the whole armada-energon-cybertron trilogy. RID Prime was uncontested for years but in my book, cybertron prime finally trumped him. Not to mention unlike armada prime, Cybertron Prime's upgraded combination and super modes RETAIN full articulation. And the colors are not funky like energon prime. It does not even seem like the same designer designed all 3 of those Primes, Cybertron Prime is that much different/better. -

Heh the reason I wanted sky shadow is mainly because I didn't have jetfire and I thought Sky Shadow had a nice color scheme. Still waiting for them the get discounted@retail. Do you have cybertron prime to combine wingsaber with? -

They didn't, the legs are just painted in matte paint rather than gloss so it looks like plastic but its still metal. -

Not sure about the accent, he only appears in the toyline, he is absent in the cartoon. Same goes for Cyro Scourge. IF anything you can use sky shadow as classics Octane. Wing Saber does look awesome I need him and Nemesis breaker to combine with my prime. Not to mention cybertron wingsaber is so much better than the energon version. Full articulation+good jet mode=BUY for me. If size does not matter, Jetfire should be a good purchase. He is shorter than Classics Prime without his helmet on and therefore smaller than cybertron wingsaber. -

The japanese versions tend to have a bit more paint apps, but most of the repaints and molds towards the end were USA exclusives. Quickmix and Menasor are yet to have arrived in japan. Same with the remolded green guy with huge arms. Same with Cyro Scourge and Sky Shadow(repainted Jetfire who is Jetfire in disguise to sabotage the decepticons from within....originally meant to be called Octane). The biggest difference were the starscreams. We got the big supreme sized version, japan had the voyager class(smaller version). There was a voyager class release in the US but it was a repaint with vector prime in a TRU 2 pack. The paint apps are actually evened out this time around, some are better on the hasbro releases, some are better on the takara releases. -
Actually the newer X wing is a retool of the Power FX mold. It features a folding seat that reveals a cargo area, and figures can be placed in or removed from the cockpit(the power FX version had a permanently mounted Luke figure inside). I have the dagobah red 5 version(the one out now) and the wings currently have yet to sag. The wings are definitely ABS though the lasers are hard PVC. The current one is defintiely the definitive version, it even comes with swamp moss to decorate over top to recreate the Dagobah scene! Yep! Came out last year and the year before. The one from last year as a TRU exclusive, and both featured retooled cockpits so Chewie and Han could fit better in the cockpit.

Correct. Hasbro also thinks that the movie will convince automakers to ride the cash cow and offer hasbro the licenses that they have been reluctant to sell. Someone please tell me alternator Rumble has moving elbow joints. -
Hey Port, what do you think of the TIE fighters that you bought? I have been debating whether to purchase them or not. They are more accurate than the vintage mold(which had tiny wings in comparison), but me I am not a huge regular TIE fan, I like the advanced, interceptor, and bomber types. There is a reissue of the vintage mold coming ffro $19.99, so I was wondering if you felt the more accurate scaled one that you bought would be worth the extra dough compared to the old. I recently got the red 5 dagobah x wing and it is AWESOME. Truly the definitive X wing for Luke as far as toys go. I had a blast placing my VOTC X wing Luke and his weapons into the cockpit(the folding seat for a storage area is sweeet). Not to mention the bigger size and scale accuracy makes hthe squashed looking vintage one look like trash.

FOund starscream on friday. BEST mainline starscream since G1!!!! 10$ for a F-15 transformer that looks better than the original. The only thing that dissapoints me like with nearly all starscreams was the landing gear or lack there of. Other than that I can't see why anyone would even want the RM version over this. I eagerly await ramjet and skywarp and if people say starscream is the worst of wave 1 then the rest of wave 1 must kick mucho ass since starscream so far is freaking awesome. The transformation surprised the crap out of me, very ingenuitive and something I wouldn't have expected from a deluxe transformer, truly not what it seems! -
SV-51. What else is big, would mix well with the current releases, and give our VF-0's something to fight? Well, one could hope.

IF only MP Screamer actually had scabbards and swords in the hip mounted wings.... Alas I will still buy it. -
Jenius' site has some good in depth reviews of the 3. www.anymoon.com If you want something to play with more than display, the MPC is probably suited to your tastes than the 1/60. Don't get me wrong, the 1/60 is plenty durable but in regards to playing with it, it is more stable then the 1/60 VF-1, mainly because rather than take a more innovative approach, its based on the old HCM and transforms the exact same way. Just make sure you don't pay the msrp for it, I got all of mine for 30-70$ off msrp and once I bought my roy MPC for $10 MIB, I couldn't find reason to complain much. The 1/60 has legs that fall out of the sockets over time. Basically, once the 1/48 came out, most of us bought that and never looked back. I don't think anyone should ever compare the 1/60 VF-1 to MPC in the looks department, simply because it'd be a redundant question, for aesthetic and accuracy purposes, the 1/60 wins WITHOUT question. For me it was more of a matter of which one could hold up together better during play.

Transformer Starscream Masterpiece has arrived!
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to kentgh's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
For me I never liked the cartoon color schemes. I LOVED the g1 toy color schemes though. The cartoon colored ones were too pastel like. The g1 toy versions were much darker and pleasant on the eye. Skywarp and Thundercracker looked like cabbage patch transformers on screen but their toy versions definitely had the more bad ass color schemes. While the color scheme on MP has grown on me, I can't help but think it would look intense and awesome in the g1 toy colors of thundercracker and skywarp -

The only one with plastic is the prototype they showed@SDCC. The people who already do have the DVD prime now(he's out) and the ones who saw the prototype overseas confirm that its got diecast metal. Anyways I think it will be hard for me to resist buying starscream@a con if its under $100 -
