Fellas, imagine the VFC-111 shark mouth on the F-20 Tigershark....ah if only it could've been... -
Oh I didn't mean I wanted them to go back HCM style, but rather use the innovation they had back then on a modern toy with chunky monkey durability, and SOC attention to detail, and HCM innnovation. We would have a near indestructible aesthetically pleasing masterpiece with nice heft and good price. Thats what I meant. I mean you gotta admit, the wing sweeping with missles still stored in battroid mode was innnovation that no other company has matched as of yet. I have always loved the quality of the bandai chunky monkey as well. God that things tough to break

Macross 25th Anniversary! New TV series coming!
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I often wonder this too. -
Thats true with their Macross 7 line but we must remember that bandai at one point did make the HCM series, which at one point was the most detailed and articulated VF-1 toy. Its the only one with the ability till this day that had the ability to swing the wings back in battroid mode with the missles still on. Thats pretty nifty to me.

Aircraft Vs Thread 3
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to David Hingtgen's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
There was that one mock engagement where a VFA-11 Red Ripper SHornet had an F-22 in his gunsights, and it led to heated arguments on some of the plane sites. -
So a new Macross series is apparently on the horizon. Yamato has been making the most detailed macross toys in recent years, while bandai hasn't done a thing aside reissue the old takatokus. Nonetheless, a lot of us stilll crave bandais and wait eternally for reissues of the DYRL Strike, Elint, Super O and other precious commodities to make sure our missing childhoods are finally complete. Along the line while yamato gives us new stuff on a yearly constant basis, we often wonder, "what could bandai do with all their experience and modernized stuff, where is our SOC quality valkyries or MG macross, when can they let gundam rest for a week and give us a line of Macross stuff, where is the love?". Yamato gives us great detail and aesthetics that so far has been unmatched by any other macross toy company. Bandai gives us the venerable durability/near indestructability of takatoku plus gloss paint and painted details for the most part but has neglected to give a modern take on the valkyrie, instead relying on reissueing 20 year old molds. One wonders though, what they are really capable of. I often wonder what a company out of left field to macross like CM or takara could do, takara has a lot of experience making transformable mecha and at a more afforable price as well. So with that said. At this point no one really knows if anyone is even going to make toys for the new macross series. BUT. If you had a choice, which company would you want to be making your toys? Discuss!

Most of these are from brickshelf.com I believe the instructions for them are on their as well. Theres a 3d autocad program for lego bricks that lets you envision your creations on the computer so that you can plan out which pieces you need to buy, and how to put it together. I am on a mac so I wonder if there is a mac compatible version. Also there was a lego VF-1 on there that though skinny, was considerably taller than the yamato 1/48. Probably 1ft%1/2 tall

Newbie Questions on Macross
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Roy Focker's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
He is flying a VF-1S when he is the team leader, you can also see the number on the side of the nose, it reads "001", so he is skull 1 at that point as well. -

Do you know this for sure man? I plan on picking up Prime(hoping to find him in the clearance aisle once the movie figures start hitting. And Megatron is so damn tempting, I have started to overlook the colors because the figure is so damned good. 2 of my friends have him and I remember many of us thinking he was going to suck, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that he was one of the best, in my mind he was till I found Jetfire. -

He's not that bad, I use him as "movie" prime from the 86 movie(he is just a bit taller than hot rod so it fits) and in my world he gets torn up then gets the $20 classics body. BTW did you mean that the liason has no connection to hasbro anymore or that takara has no connection to hasbro anymore? Do you guys think classics megatron will be repainted? I am wondering whether or not to pick up gun megatron now or wait for a repaint. -

Its not intentional the ones you found may have been tampered with. Prime is decent, he has some (automorphing) going on and that was pretty impressive. He's just overshadowed hardcore by the $20 classics prime. Overall not too bad if you are not expecting much. Megatron by far is the star of the set. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of a right hand and the fact that he lacks a "normal" elbow joint on his right hand since he has an arm gimmick where his gun folds down sideways and becomes some twirling thing. Other than that, his sculpt, paint and articulation is excellent, a dead ringer for marvel comics 80's era megatron since he has a dark grey helmet and his red light piped eyes are cool. Overall I was very happy with him. I look at the 2 pack as the versions of prime and megatron prior to getting the $20 classics bodies. -

I think The new Ronin might actually be Night Thrasher. I think its just a matter of time till cap comes back, the dude's got a movie coming out in 2 years, he won't be dead for too long. I bet marvel just pulled this stunt to keep readers reading after civil war(the nextbig thing)- 557 replies

Rarely see Ramjet but I see Starscream a LOT. I see him more than Hot rod, bumblebee, grimlock and astrotrain. -

VERY available. The hard one to find is Megatron surprisingly, I've been able to find Jetfire more than I have been able to find Megatron. Prime is a shelfwarmer, its more of a case of where you feel like buying him rather than which store even has him. He is $20. -
Not yet, the only ones were from the ebay auction that got taken down the day it appeared. I have looked as well but it seems no one saved it to their drives. With 21st going a vietnam route, it would not surprise me at all if BBI and Admiral toys come out with a modern fighter. Difference is, BBI and Admiral toys do actually talk to each other, I think to make sure none of their releases overlap. 21st keeps to themselves. BBI has me very excited for their 1/32 F-4. I want to see an F-14 at that scale. I wonder which MIG-21 21st will make. I hope they make a MIG-29K/33. That would be awesome and I b et it'd sell more than the fishbed. Looks a hell of a lot better too.

The J's are almost too tight hehe, turning the heads requires more force than one would think.

Jenius are you going to review the 1/100 takatoku? That looks pretty nifty, but it looks like it lacks swivel elbows/wrists. One thing you guys should watch out for are torn joint holders(the plastic things the biceps plug into on the shoulders). A torn one doesn't result in lack of articulation or loseness but its annoying knowing its there*even if the joint holder has a tear, the arm can still stay in, its not too big of a deal*. I found one broken holder on both of my figures. To avoid this, make sure the big part of the bicep is facing the outside when plugged in.(the joint holders or whatever you called them are similar to gundam model kits, and the white parts from rockman kits). Just something to watch out for. Jenius' review is the best one so far, and the most honest one as well. Funny thing is, I think toynami emphasized the battroid mode in this line, as its the best mode and most fun to play with in that mode. Gerwalk mode is good and fighter mode is decent but could have been better, the small backpack and the fact that it does not sit completely flush in fighter make it the weakest mode. Still, I'd rather have one of these things than the variable 1/100 imai kits. I bet the MPC's will be delayed so toynami should put the armor out ASAP.
