I think they can engineer a way to use those to make chunky legs yet still have a sleek fighter.

I think they can do it. They pulled off a sleek fighter for the Fire Valk and chunky battroid. VF-17 is chunkier in both yet still somewhat sleek in fighter mode. I think it has more mass to work with.

Referring to the grey pieces that could crack on the YF-19 when transforming from gerwalk to battroid.

Hey LowViz you know how you type up the longest paragraphs of any poster here? I think if they were about the Fire Valk/on topic you would get a better reception here. For those who have the Fire Valk, is the spine connection aft of the canopy much more sturdy than the 1/60 YF-19? For example, less prone to parts cracking?

Cool, thanks Graham. The main guy, which valk toys did he design before? Just wondering if he's relatively new or if he's been designing for Yamato for a while. The wing roots, do they stay up due to tension or ratchets? I was thinking perhaps loosening some screws might help but I don't know how the wing root connection is.

I'm tempted to order this sooner than thought. I have a feeling that the VF-19F will be a sleeper hit and turn out real nifty. Sure everyone wants that Focker Docker's Blazer but the white trim and that head sculpt for the F scream "YEAH I'M OVERLOOKED BUT I WILL KILL YOU AND LOOK GOOD". For that matter, I wonder which wings we'll get for the F/S? The Master Files book shows short and long wings, both shorter than the Fire Valk. Btw folks how do you avoid breakages on that tab on the legs(the one that broke on Renato's and jenius')?

You've just convinced me to possibly skip the Bird of Prey and just wait for a V2 1/60 YF-19. I LOVE the sculpt of the battroid mode on this Fire Valk...I like my valks chunky and the Excalibur never looked good skinny, reminded me of an EVA. Who designed this? SOLID? T-Rex? Did Nishikawa have a hand in it? Seems that the designer(s) definitely knew how to pair great toyetic qualities with the overall silhouette of the Excalibur in all modes. By toyetic, in no way do I mean that in a bad way I've actually thought that was the best direction to go in for a while now(the VF-11 and V2 1/60 shoulders issues aside, seemed to go in that direction).

Those who have it, does the Fire Valk have ratchets and detents all over the place?

I could be wrong but the transformation looks quicker/simpler than the 1/60 YF-19, which I think is a plus. As cool as the Fire Valk looks and as much as folks say it's the best Yamato valk yet, I still think the BLAZER will dominate all for a while to come. The F/S versions will be sexy. A P version would be neat too, I dug the paint scheme and head. Normally I would think that there are more small parts tooled for this release which would result in price incrrease, but I dunno. I'm interested in the answer to this too

Anything from: Several New Characters For GI Joe 2 Cobra Strikes to Shad Gaspard Might Star In GI Joe 2 Cobra Strikes Possible Roadblock Joseph Gordon Levitt is out, Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes and Duke are the only ones confirmed to return(so far), and Nichols is out but said she wanted to be in it. Who knows whether this will change or not. The most promising things are that the screenwriters of Zombieland penned the script. Aside from that...yeah I dunno.

Hoping this bad boy has ratchets and detented joints ALL OVER. The silhouette evokes indestructability, I hope the toy does too. Yamato has been stepping up. Now to finish Macross 7 and see if Gamlin used the D more than S...and which one he was more bad ass in.

Looks great, just want to know if it can be manhandled. The 1/48 VF-1 and 1/60 VF-11 are very sturdy releases, if this thing is at least as good as those 2 I might pick one up(my intention was to always wait out for the Blazer but now I might buy both...depends).

I hope we get FAST packs bundle with this, the FAST packs looked bad ass on them.

Sky Striker XP21F 1st Shot - GI Joe News

The sculpt didn't bother me as much as the quality. I actually don't mind it chunky. However, being anime accurate(especially with hip placement) actually works in the toy's favor since the hip movement wouldn't be hindered by the lerx's in battroid mode. Still hoping for a redone DX VF-25 with the improvements of the DX YF-29, and hope the joints don't loosen I HATE when that happens!

MP 10 Convoy Version 2 New Details

The good thing is that the 25th anniversary rattler and tiger rat were retooled not just on the cockpits but with the landing gear. The landing gear especially the rear are reinforced. Much more sturdy than before. Also the sky striker coming in fall is an all new mold but structurally reinforced. Splits aft of the canopy and the wings look very very durable there are braces underneath.
