  1. Before criticism is passed, I think we should wait to see more images. It doesn't even look like he drew the promo image, it might just be based off of his design. For all we know the promo image may have been done by someone else last minute, based off his design, but might not have been referenced properly. Maybe it was one of his assistants or someone from another department that they desperately needed to come up with something quick. Think of how Itano Ichiro's work on Macross compared to Anime Friend's in certain episodes. HUGE difference in how they portrayed Mikimoto's character designs. So maybe the promo heroes image wasn't even by the key animators? I honestly think the man didn't draw the promo, and it was by someone else. If we at least see the intro we can see his work truly bear fruition.
  2. To whomever has the VF-0A Shin type, If the shoulder parts in question are indeed made out of POM, paint will probably not adhere to it well. Those of you who want to test this out can try painting the shoulder joint in question with an acrylic paint, maybe just a sliver. If it does not adhere well at all, or just doesn't adhere, it probably is POM. The YF-19 included 2 pairs of canards, 1 pair was POM, the other ABS since paint does not adhere well to POM. This is the easiest and quickest way to tell if it is POM or not(at least in theory). BTW since the shoulder joint is hidden by the cover, if you paint it, it won't really show. Well then again if it is truly POM, the paint won't stick anyways.
  3. I believe so.
  4. I heard that the Tumbler is destroyed in this movie
  5. You might want to try painting it to test it. I heard paint does not adhere well to POM, so if you brush some paint and it doesn't stick, maybe its POM.
  6. I've read that the Russian planes have never been licensed in the previous games, so they might not count in the number of planes given in the interviews. I hope they do count different versions of the planes as one plane, that would mean way more planes for us!
  7. Its mainly the head aside the paint job. The head pictured on the back of the box was of the original design/prototype. The head on the actual toy is closer to the headshot in the profile pic on the front of the box. I've heard different things about Megatron. The vague instruction manual does not help buyer's perceptions at all. Luckily you brought up the spring switch, which makes it better, and it was also cool a few weeks back when someone first discovered how to actually make the fusion cannon. I think the mold looks great, but the paint apps could have been much better. I will say, it looks better in person than it does online(though the same can be said about the entire movie line). The head being visible in jet mold has a ton of complaints, but it is faithful to the CGI concept art, so even if it was hidden better, it doesn't mask the fact that even in the CGI, the head is still on top of the jet. Hasbro can't take the blame for that one. I don't mind the jet mode so much, it looks huge and definitely alien. I get the feeling Leader Brawl will be the better Decepticon "leader" for the toys.
  8. Wow...... I will wait till we get full confirmation on which VF-0 ultimately has POM shoulders and no problems. I'll wait it out, the VF-0A looks cool in wolfpack markings, if it comes out with improvements as stated above, I might pick it up.
  9. I thought mine was like that out of the box, however I realized that while the cockpit lined up, the legs did not peg in tightly to the fueselage. I took mine apart, made sure the black panels that fold were straightened out while lifting the gears slightly away from each other, then reattached the gears, and then screwed the cockpit section back on. Doing this makes the black panels straight in alt mode, lines up the cockpit correctly, and lets the legs fit more flush and secure with the fueselage. *To take apart the cockpit, unscrew the 2 screws on the right side, remove the panel, then unscrew the screw attached to the gear.* So far, I do not know if I did this right, but I lift up the nose to expose the head and in doing so the legs/waist swing down and the black back panels fold while the back folds. This while the sides/arms are still plugged into their slots in alt mode. Did I do the automorph right? It might still be fixable, I don't think you broke it, you probably just shifted the gear out of place. Just unscrew it, realign the gears, and screw the cockpit panel back on.
  10. Well, looks like I was wrong. It does look like it might be fun, but I the concept camaro deluxe Bumblebee gives me more of what I want. Once you guys get Ultimate BB please posts thoughts/pics. I wanted it when it was unveiled at toyfair, however upon reading a review and realizing it lacked a functional right elbow, detailed interior and clear plastic windows, I decided not to get it. One thing that I wish hasbro would make is a deluxe Bumblebee with his battle mask. Come to think of it, Prime and Jazz might be the only autobots with ther battle mask sculpted on.
  11. Sorry man, the part I mentioned isn't in the movie at all, so I didn't think it would be a spoiler. I don't even think they mention that in the movie. BTW the only guys that might want the Ultimate Bumblebee figure are the ones that buy ALL the movie merchandise, and animatronic toy fans. Fans that like robosapien and roboraptor. I look at Ultimate BB as a robosapien-like transformer. The lack of a right elbow joint, a short right arm, and no realistic interior for the car aside opaque glass wasn't the greatest news for me. Concept Camaro Bumblebee deluxe for me all the way! Anyone see the deluxe Arcee coming out? I hope we see it in silver, which is her color in the prequel books.
  12. Looks like we will be able to do that online too, latest figures say the number of online players has been bumped up from 16, to 32!
  13. Spoiler. He rips off his right arm and crushes his voicebox after Bumblebee gets in Megatron's way when he is trying to chase after the allspark.
  14. Target has their exclusive robo vision Prime, which is the voyager in metallic colors. It looks great in person, a lot better than it does online. The regular, darker version of the voyager will be out soon and is already out in asia. When I noticed the spikes, I was wondering what would secure them in place. It just seemed like even more stuff left out of the instructions. Once I swiveled the lower legs and feet aroud 180, I realized that the shin panels from the now swiveled leg actually secure the spikes in place. I agree that Barricade would look a lot better with actual hands. I also wish he had a locking mechanism for his torso, it looks like there was supposed to be a locking tab in the middle but they did without it.
  15. Is that the one rumored to be made into the RTA proposal? Link here: http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/inde...opic,209.0.html I wonder if anything concrete ever surfaced about the RTA proposal aside the desktop model and concept art.
  16. If you swivel his lower legs 180 degrees, then lift up his foot spikes and swivel his feet 180 degrees, you will have shins/car panels that hold the spikes in place AND have much more range of movement from his double jointed knees. Something tells me this might have been a step left out of the instruction pamphlet(a lot of the movie toys have vague instructions). I like Barricade a lot but I too hate the hair trigger punching mechanism.
  17. This movie isn't G1 though, and the characters aren't mean to be the same way they were. Sure the core "essence" of the characters is present, but they aren't supposed to be exactly like their G1 predecessors. This movie is an all new continuity, a story in itself. Its exactly like what Marvel did with their Ultimates books, make them outside regular continuity, and into their own. Its a movie that has a story which can be followed by new fans or old. In other words, a viewer could go into the theater and watch the movie without having to read the entire backstory beforehand to catch up. Its just a new incarnation of transformers, just like the armadaverse cartoons were new incarnations and not g1, only this is live action. With that said, judging by the comic adaptation, Starscream's character is very similar in general to his g1 ancestor. He basically calls the shots in Megatron's absence. Not really a spoiler, given that this is what he did in g1 too, so this was to be expected. Also Starscream wasn't delicate in the cartoon. Nor too cowardly. Remember this is the same guy in the 86 movie who jumped into a ship of autobots and fired, before megatron told him to hold him in gun mode and fire. Also he survived all up till Galvatron killed him at his coronation. Not to mention he was the strongest of his brother seekers. Then even his spark came out of nowhere and took over Waspinator in Beast Wars.
  18. That is very true. Besides everyone keeps asking why there isn't more Macross merchandise, and well, with a series like this aimed at the present generation, more merchandise is now possible. Maybe yamato won't be the only game in town for toys. Maybe bandai might finally reissue the DYRL 1/55 valk trio(strike, elint, etc). Maybe we won't have to wait another 5 years for a new Macross. Maybe this is a good thing.
  19. Well my friend, you have just fixed 2 things by only doing 1 thing. Not to mention by doing so, you got rid of the nuisance aspects of Megatron(having to hold the button down for fusion cannon, no spring launched claw). Thanks man!
  20. Wait but can the fusion cannon on the left arm still open after that?
  21. Very true. Hikaru, Max, Kakizaki and Minmei were all teens at the beginning and just barely adults at the end of the series. Hell Misa was an adult at the start, but just barely. Somehow I think this will be a teen main character who while in school, gets thrust into a war he has no choice but to fight in. Along the way he gets better because they forced his hand, and he yearns for the day he can stop fighting. For all I know maybe Kawamori will pull a gundam 0083 on us. Its the 25th anniversary, its gotta be good. He's had previous Macross series to learn from.
  22. BTW, looking at the classics seekers side by side, and by the size of the seats in both movie starscream and the classics seekers, they seem to be in similar scale in Fighter/alt mode! However in robot mode, Movie Starscream is a giant in comparison. He seriously goes from being a medium sized fighter, to a large, imposing robot in comparison. Literally more than meets the eye, you can't get any indication of his robot mode size in package at all. The box itself is very decieving. Heck, most of the box space could be taken up had he been packaged in robot mode,
  23. Agreed. The first time I transformed it, I realized how great it was. The last seeker I had transformed was Classics Skywarp. Movie Starscream is much more complex and makes for a pleasing transformation. The classics seekers have an impressive transformation as well, but I was amazed to find that Movie Starscream's is more amazing. Over time, I began to overlook what I hated about it, like the thick undercarriage. I looked at it and realized, if Classics Starscream were the same size, the undercarriage on him wouldn't be that far off either. With that said I have also owned worse jet transformers before. Its very fun to play with and armed to the teeth. From the top it looks great. I wish the vertical stabilizers were more accurate though.
  24. Performance wise I LOVE the F-15J, but it is rubbish a bit in avionics. I've found that the super Search mode for its radar does not work well, either that or I am not doing it right. I think it narrows the radar's beam so that the targets you are aiming for have to be directly in front of you for a lock. Sometimes what i will do is lock them up with a heatseeker and then switch to radar guided if I am far enough, the radar at leasts remembers at that point where the enemy is. In the F-15J I stick strictly with the AAM-4/5 missles. Those are the best ones it can carry. Its basically the japanese equivalent of the israeli python missles with thrust vectoring, and the AMRAAM. You might like the arena mode, its basically taking off, loitering, RTB,s miniboss fights, etc. Always starts the same but always has different results at times since different bosses show up. Basically just flying around and shooting.
