Ouch. You might try taking it apart and gluing the piece back. With that figure you have to use the button to initiate the chest transformation, otherwise breakage is highly possible(it happened a lot last month). The ones that broke have a thicker tab that is not symetrical to the other side, but if you use the button, generally you can avoid the breakage, although its still happened to others. -

Looked like a movie concept, it was on the concept art. -

Are you referring to the Energon version or the Machine Wars F-22? Either one had flaws. The Energon one had tiny vertical stabilizers, and horizontal stabilizers that were mounted too low. Plus the vertical stabilizers were too close together. Nowhere near as sleak as the toy it was based on(g2 Smokejumper, which was much much sleeker). The Machine Wars version had kibble too. Transformation was simplistic and its alt mode was a YF-22. Despite the fact that it was YF-22 based and had considerably less kibble, it does not have the level of detail that the movie version does. Pulling off the movie version is highly possible given a larger size class/pricepoint. It also helps that the character is very popular. He had more screentime and relevance than Brawl did in the movie, and the name is instantly recognizable by most fans. -

The missle launchers/gatling guns were briefly used in the movie. They were probably used when he attacked the F-22, but I did see the missles/claw/gun arm when he fired at Sam in the city. I think his hands and arms can morph or switch out weapons in the movie. One scene had normal looking hands with claws. The other had a combination of what is seen on the toy only less bulky. Some of the concepts in the early renders did not make it. Ironhide's battlemask wasn't shown, niether was his combined cannon(both his arm cannons into one huge cannon). I am not sure if Bumblebee had an armblade but it does show up on the toy for the concept camaro(his gun barrel splits in 1/2, then reveals a blue blade). Also an explanation was that Hasbro started developing the toys in 2005. The movie itself, with adjustments to the special effects, renders and CGI was not finished until a few weeks ago, less then a day before the Australian premiere. It takes at least a year to get a toy from concept to final product. So what we have on the shelves now is what was started in 2005. With the movie alterations were made up until last month, but the toys had to be finished much much earlier than that in order to be out 1 month before the movie hit. Had the toys been delayed to match ILM's changing renders, the toys would have been delayed possibly until far after the movie hit. They would be movie accurate, but it might be too late. For example, Hasbro did not even know that ILM was going to add a sword onto Prime, by the time they saw that, they may have already been done designing the Prime figure. If the CGI models stay the same for the next movie, undoubtedly the sequel's toys will be much more accurate and better. Why? Because hasbro will have a lot more time to work on the toys and will not have to play catch up with ILM, because the designs for the characters are already done and good to go. Next time around won't really be about beating the clock. -

Thats true. Hehe I really wonder how that one slipped? It seemed like it would be one of the easiest things to fix, it was just a subtitle... One more thing to consider, is that with Brawl, being that he is a big tank, he might be a lot easier to engineer given the $40 size class he will come in. Being a tank, a lot of components can be hidden between the threads, underneath the body of the tank in alt mode. With Starscream, its more complicated. That is why Brawl was probably given the go ahead, and Hasbro is in talks with Takara this week to see what other movie figures to design. I really hope a voyager Bonecrusher and Leader Starscream are considered and reach fruition. A leader class Starscream could give us a reasonably accurate, sleek, unkibbled killer F-22 alt mode and a more slender accurate robot mode that looks menacing. Plus, as is Bonecrusher is too small. The arm articulation looks weird to me, so I didn't pick it up(along with its size). -

Bay said Hasbro raised hell and had a problem with Starscream but what the exact problem was, was never stated. For all we know there may have been an older design in rought draft form that may have even be worse, and the design used in the movie was was after revisions and hasbro's final approval. It seemed like hasbro was mad because Bay hadn't come up with something for Starscream yet at the time, and hasbro needed something to start working on to meet schedule. Starscream had more relevant parts than Brawl in the movie, as well as being one of the most popular characters. There is a reason why he had a protoform figure after all, and was also chosen as one of the two sneak preview figures. Not to mention if he uses the same alt mode and looks the same in the sequel, hasbro can carry the leader version over to the next movie. I think they will visit it again. Not to mention, airplanes sell. Also, Starscream seems to be one of the harder figures to find now(the F-22), so I take it sales are good and people want him. He sells well enough to say so. Brawl on the other hand, is a shelfwarmer.(I am waiting for a leader version, but nonetheless, I still want a leader starscream too) -

I hate the respawn points a LOT, they seem to respawn either suddenly behind the aircraft you are supposed to escort, or somewhere behind you where they have the advantage. I'm not sure if these quirks were in Energy Air Force on Ps2(the predecessor), but it is annoying. 40 secs for a takeoff in a clean falcon is a lot. I'm not sure if it takes me that long but I'll have to see, I've never timed it. I usually run the throttle to 103% and lift the nose up@150kts. Or is it mph? I'm not sure. The mission requirements do suck on some missions, especially one in the 4th or 5th campaign, if you don't use a stealth plane for the last strategic mission on one of those campaigns, it is insanely hard to beat. -

I originally thought energon Starscream had the better F-22 alt mode, but I now think the movie version does. It looks more like an F-22 from above even though its got a fat underside. -

I see. For me, I was looking for a sim that was a step above aerodancing/aerowings/aero elite academy, and Over-G was it. I didn't like the story, it was generic. I also wish all the missions started when you are on the ground, instead of always starting in midair(only the last mission of each campaign requires take off and landing). -

I think there are complaints from the japanese market. Graham said the person that told him about no complaints may have not been told the right thing.

My brother got mine used from gamestop for $40. Oh yea I think you'll be happy with the Tomcat's stabilizer movement in this one. At lower speeds the spoilers control roll. At high speed, the horizontal stabilizers aid in rolling. (I remember that the wrong movement was a big peeve of yours in the recent Ace Combats) -

At botcon, hasbro said that the cancelled titaniums might make it into the classics/universe line. Cosmos was originally designed for Classics, then booted to Titaniums, and now may end up again in Classics. -

Oh man that happens to me a LOT! I hate it when it happens below 1,000ft. At that point you're screwed. I had it happen when I was going 2 on 4 in my F-15C with Linda as my wingman vs 4 Su-27's. When I flamed out, the Flankers were still firing missles at me! -

The Tomcat's radar is definitely one of its best strengths in the game. The fast rate of target acquisition combined with the range of the phoenix make it one of the best "snipers" of the game. Its easier to dogfight with the F-15 however once the battle becomes WVR. Its got so much power and regains speed easily. There is a definite difference to be seen once you start trying to line up for a guns kill in a tomcat. In the tomcat, its easier to get gun kills on planes that have less mobility, or if they are damaged and smoking. Maybe you boom and zoom fighters can give me some tips, whats the best way to line up gun shots for the tomcat? I like the F-15E since its radar is much better than the C/D/J/DJ models, however I think its power is less. I want to master dogfighting in each bird, starting with the tomcat in the game since its the oldest plane you can start with, and possibly the hardest of the teen fighters to master dogfighting in. It does come alive b/w 400-600kts or mph, however when it comes down to gun kills, yoyo manuevers whether high or low tend to bleed the airspeed to 200-300 kts, and at that point flying the tom feels like tugging some iron. I like using old planes vs new sometimes to add some freshness, which is why I've decided to learn the F-14A more in dogfighting before the B model, which is a way better plane by all comparisons. **Maxing out G's(7.5) in the Tomcat more than 10-15 seconds+ while going mach 1 will DAMAGE the plane, the thrust gets cut to 50%, afterburner disabled, and the plane will start smoking. The F-15 will do this 9-10G's+ while pulling for more than 7-10 seconds, I learned this while in a rolling scissors with an SU-37 while going for a guns kill** -
They probably did, otherwise Yamato would have never provided replacement parts to hlj.com. Think about it, they can't legally market to us. Their target market and the majority of their buyers are japanese. They can market to the japanese. If the problem was regulated to buyers outside japan theres nothing they could really do about it and it would be a waste of money for them to even bother making them. So there had to be breakages and complaints within the japanese community as well. They are fans like us, the only difference being- 1-language barrier 2-they are the target market, not us

Nope. Long story short, all current VF-0 releases have ABS shoulder pieces. Due to chemical reactions between the plastic, and/or the shape of the ball joint, or construction techniques in the factory that weaken them, it seems inevitable that the pieces will have develop stress marks and possibly break. This has happened with many of our members. A few members recieved the replacement VF-0S arms from hlj.com with POM shoulders in place of ABS. Stress marks have still developed, and one member who tried taking a pic had a bicep/elbow joint destroyed. It might be inevitable. The only way to avoid this is to never transform your VF-0 and just stare at it. Bear in mind some of the VF-0's that broke were handled by members here who are very careful with their toys. So the conclusion is that something wrong is still going on and the problem has yet to be fixed. It has just been band aided.
-
And now recently one of our member's VF-0 had a busted bicep/elbow on his replacement VF-0S POM arms.

TFW2005 Thanks to ams for putting up that huge list and constantly updating it. Also Botcon is this weekend and starting on thursday all the major fan sites should be posting up coverage. Tfw2005.com usually has the best news and coverage, so definitely check them out. Leader Brawl was seen advertised on the back of Ultimate Bumblebee's box. Final Battle Jazz is out in the same wave as Concept Camaro Bumblebee, Dropkick and Arcee(middle of next month). He has a mettalic paint job and new gun. However Target seems to be getting a version of their own in g1 colors. -
In a case case like this I think Yamato should just redesign the shoulder joint as a ratchet joint vs ball joint. This is bad. This shouldn't be happening on the new POM shoulders, especially a replacement.

I bought Starscream some weeks back and was amazed. I hear Jazz is the worst of the line, there were 2 reviews at tfwire.com and they suggested skipping it. I like the design so I will buy one, but am waiting to see if the final battle version is in metallic paint(seems like it is, and target's exclusive version is g1 colors). Megatron doesn't even look that bad in person too. -

Macross, seeing the VF-1D go into Gerwalk as Hikaru tries to save Minmei. Gundam 0083 when Gato tears up the main character, as bad as he lost, he put up a worthy fight. Turn A Gundam once they showed the Turn A in movement on its own with mist over it during night. It looked so angry. The stories are great so far too. I like how its episodic. Gaogaigar once I realized how over top the entire cast is. -
Thanks for posting that pare. Looks like I'll just wait for another VF-0A or VF-0S with POM shoulders next time around.
