I make the effort if I have the time but I don't dedicate myself to it even when I do have time. Same with Masterpiece Starscream, its a waste of time and gas trying to find it now when it hasn't even hit saturation in all states and just came out last week. I usually find what I am looking for when I don't look. Word of advice, TRU from what I've seen only gets the 5 packs, rarely gets the singles. Target and walmart are your best bets. Walmart is starting to catch up with heavy shipments, while Target, initially had the most but sells quick. Walmart sells quickly too, days ago, I saw a good number of wave 2, today, Se, SS, and CC, the usual suspects. -

Famous in japan with a reputation, and also on of the designers on the Diaclone toyline, some of the robots he worked on from that line were later repainted as Transformers. The notable ones I remember were Powered Convoy, and maybe Aero Acrobat F-15(which was later used as the basis for the Seeker F-15 trio). -

Yamato 1/60 YF-21 News & Pics
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
YF-21 has always kicked ass. I love how it resembles the YF-23(one of my fav jets), and if the toy turns out as solid as the 1/48 VF-1, I will definitely consider picking it up. With the advancements in sculpting and design that Yamato have progressed with since 2000, I bet we will get a sleek fighter mode, retractable landing gear rather than swap, gloss paint on the blue parts, and a fighter that does not look chunky at all. Oh, and 2 gunpods, the gunpods add great armnament and look cool on the underbelly of the fighter alongside the FP's. Heres to hoping those are included. -
Rent it first. Despite my criticisms, I would rather play 6 than 5. 5 has the superior storyline, music, and more planes, but its replay system sucks compared to 6. Also you cannot land and rearm much in 5, unlike in 6. 6 also has online multiplayer, better stats for most planes, and great graphics. Give it a shot and rent it first.

Yea they shafted the Super Bug pretty bad on this one. It was a lot better in 5/0. The SAAM is a great weapon in the game, but the AMRAAM should be available for the Super Bug too, as well as the QAAM, to mimic the actual weapons the Bug can carry in reality. I really wish the Project Aces team payed closer attention to the stats of each plane compared to their real life counterparts. i like the stats for the F-14D. F-15E, SU-33(FINALLY an enemy squad ace plane that is not on steroids), Typhoon, and Mirage, but very dissapointed with the stats for the F-16C and Super Bug. The Scarface F-16 is a nice compromise, we can just call it the J79 prototype with F110 afterburner nozzle. Also Namco incorrectly labeled the AC2 F-16 as having more mobility, it has the same mobility as the regular F-16 but higher stability. . I don't either. I was on a roll with AC2, and looked forward to 3, only to say "wait thats it? This is boring". Much much later I would find out how much we missed out on, and realized, it was one of those games that "could have been". To elaborate more on AC6 on 360, considering the hype, the fact that it was on a system clearly superior to Ps2 with more memory capacity, the ability to finally go online, and much more, there was no reason for it not to be the best Ac in the series. I did read elsewhere about other planes. Some players think it was Microsoft's decision to limit the in playable planes to 15, so that they could make other planes available for purchase via gamer points only. I wouldn't mind paying for an expansion pack later on with a LOT more planes, a couple more missions and music, and more maps for free mission and multiplayer. Hey Halo's got it, so can we.

Aoshima Variable 1/48 Legioss for 2007

Do the arms worry you during transformation, Saverobotech? A lot of members who bought the toynami version a long while back all expressed concerns over the arms. Did they add ratchets to the shoulders? Sucks that this toy suffers from stuck joints. Typically, those only plagued comic based figures. -
Its worth buying even if you're a novice. Its just that most of us here have followed the series for a long time, got tired of the typical motifs in the series, and expected more than 6 delivered. Despite that, it has a lot of good things going for it, but it does lack in some areas compared to previous games. Like some have said earlier, the next one will probably be a lot better. Its better than all other jet arcade games out there like Air Force Delta Strike or Lethal Skies, its just not the best Ace Combat in some fans' opinions. I'd pick it up if I were you. I like the replay system so much in this version(they were boring in 5/0, and 4's got boring after a while).

Finished normal mode and now started hard mode. Hard mode is actually hard this time around. Getting shot down in mission 1 surprised the hell out of me in hard mode. It happened so quick! That usually never happens. It sucks that you have to buy the other color schemes. Most of the Estovokian schemes are boring. In future games, all ECM aircraft should have ECCMP as standard, and on all the time, and not used as an SP weapon. The SP weapons should be AGM's, Shrikes, HARMs, or other armnaments. The jammers are the defining characteristics of ECM aircraft, and for them to be used only as SP weapons is a handicap. Playing this game makes me miss the A-4, A-6, F-5, F-20, X-29, S/TMD, and YF-23.

25th Anniversary GI Joe
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
No prob man. I have seen all of wave 2 sans the trooper, however each time I saw them, there was only 1 or 2 of each. I wanted to buy Serpentor until I saw the head sculpt. He looks troubled, nothing like the snarling expression on the card art. I am debating whether or not to get lady Jaye, or hold hope for a hatless version. Then again, I have the 98 reissue of the original with hat, and I didn't mind it at all. I do have Buzzer, a good companion Dreadknok for Zartan. I saw Beachhead 3 times, but I want one with the crotch fix. I must say, these are selling well as each time I see these, they are never there when I return. Even Serpentor. Serpentor would be great if his colors were reversed to match his card art and if he looked angry, like a dictator he is supposed to be. Then it would be a great DDP era Serpentor. Other than that, I will wait for a more accurate one, and a RAH Marvel era Serpentor. -

Yes they will continue shipping the first 3 waves. Wave 4 is the special wave consisting of figures from the battle packs. Wave 5 is the wave with IG Destro and Snowjob, and thats supposed to hit early next year. Hold out for wave 2 to hit retail, its still shipping. I have actually seen wave 3 more than 2, and found wave 3 first. Beachhead is now shipping with a crotch variant that enables him to sit. Same crotch variant that Firefly has(since they share the same mold aside different weapons, heads, and gear). The crotch variants have more of a "y" shaped crotch rather than "v". -
To be honest, even if it was the only version out, I still wouldn't have liked it as much as 2 and 4. I always wondered what was lacking with it when I first bought it. It wasn't until much later that my friend revealed to me that the japanese version had so much more. So I was dissapointed with it before I even knew what it was actually missing. The missions and gameplay were good, I'll agree with you on that, the gameplay was the best of the PS1 series, but there was a lack of immersion in the story, and its worse in 3 than it is in 6. Unlike Ac2, Ac3 grew boring quick after a few months. With AC2, I can pick it up now and still have fun. I wonder when more DLC will be available for 6.

Somewhat butchered? No. Close to completely butchered, yes. There were different intertwining storylines(branching missions along with 3 sides to choose from what I remember) in the japanese version as well as characters. These characters were highly overlooked in the US version. The gameplay was better, the optional guns, full mission replay viewer, & SP weapons was a great addition as well as being able to look around using the right dual shock stick. However, the lack of story in the US version, the fact that the only cut scene retained was an unlockable intro(there was a lot of cut scenes in the japanese version), and the total butchering of the which sides you could choose to play for in the storyline ruined what could have been the best Ac on ps1. I was very dissapointed with it after playing part 2. AC4 was great, especially after coming off from the dissapointment that 3 was. From what I remember the ending for 3 in the japanese version was a shock. The lack of the original story and everything else mentioned above made 3 the most boring Ace Combat I have played(have yet to play 1 or X). This is the reason why a lot of people want the Project Aces team to upgrade the graphics to the japanese version of Ace Combat 3 and bring it over stateside for a next gen system. Not a crappy game, but a boring Ace Combat, it lacks the longevity of other Ace Combat games. I don't think multiplayer will worry a lot of people, holding R1 down and pulling the stick back won't dodge missles forever, and stalls are more prevalent, especially when people abuse the High-G turn. It also takes a bit longer to recover from a stall. Multiplayer is a completely different animal than the versus modes in Ac4 and 0, and its for the better. I'm currently on mission 13. I wish we had some shorter missions, as well as more dramatic music. Some guitar music wouldn't hurt either. Mission 12 or so had so many missle alarms going off. The feel of the dogfights is better than previous games, the AI does a good job of trying to evade and get defensive. I miss how in AC4, the main enemy wasn't cocky(Yellow 13). I hope additonal downloadable content consists of the XFA-27, Ace Combat 2 music/levels/maps, aircraft upgrade components like in ACx, X-02, YF-23(why the hell was this plane not included?), F-4, A-4, Kfir, F-8, F-20, F-5, X-29, and actual F-15S/TMD(not even sure why the ACTIV colors download content does not even come with canards). Has anyone unlocked all the color schemes yet? I wonder if they are better than the initial ones. I wonder if the Tomcat's other 2 color schemes are based on actual squadrons. I hope we don't have the sakura blossom purple F-14D from Ac5, or anything like the Mindjammer F-4G from AC5.

I HATE the tunnel missions. Despite it being in each Ace Combat, I wouldn't miss it if it was missing from the next game. Mission 10 is the hardest tunnel mission I have ever played. I've followed the series since AC2. One thing I was very happy with is the revitalized stat system for the planes. Some of the planes have different stats than the other games, and makes for more reasonable comparisons. For once a Flanker is not the BE ALL, END ALL of all airplanes in an Ace Combat game! Its "High-G" turn only lasts for a few seconds, so it makes it harder the newbies to abuse. Its stats are not maxed out all the way in nearly every category like the previous Flankers in previous AC games. Is it as bad as the US version of 3? That was my biggest dissapointment in the series. So far, I like 6 a lot better than 3. 6 is one of my favorites at this point, although I wish it had a more involved storyline, no demigod dogfighter reputation of the main character(from what I recall, Scarface from AC2 did not recieve a ton of praise in the AC2 storyline as the story progressed, he remained a vague character, not overhyped and praised like Mobius 1, Blaze, and Cipher), better music, and of course, more planes. 0 wet my appetite for older planes, and I was expecting an F-4, F-5, Draken, maybe even Viggen or Crusader. The killbox upgrading system from AC5 would have been great in this game. I like how Strigon team can actually be shot down. This is an improvement over the indestructable Yellow Squadron in one of the earlier AC4 missions.

I agree with lack of immersion in the story. What I hate, are the constant references to dancing with angels, and the reoccuring theme in ace combat of your character developing into a demigod of dogfighting. At the cutscene prior to mission 7 you'll hear the characters speak highly of you. Replays are AMAZING. I complained about the replays in 5, and they were marginally better in zero, but in 6, they are excellent. Using the throttle to speed up, and slow down replays is a great feature. The replays here are a lot better than 4. Ace Combat 4 had an alright replay viewer, but its nowhere near as good as 6's. Similar, its done by the same music team as those games. The mission briefings were done a LOT better in Ace Combat zero. The music in this one is on par with previous games, I like music played when you choose your plane prior to launching.

Its taking long since the backgrounds are being redone in 3d, and the sprites are going to have more frames per movement to make the animation smoother than the predeccessor. While the engine will most likely stay the same, the game will look a lot different than the original. -

UDON is being secretive on this one, so they are most likely hard at work on this game as well as the Super Street Fighter II Turbo remake they are working on as well. -
Its because the majority of the toys now are released in 1/60 scale, and there is a demand for consistency. Also, we are all aware of how dated the non perfect transformation 1/60 VF-1 is now, so a lot of fans here want a perfect transformation 1/60 VF-1. *Also, I know all of us wouldn't mind paying under $100 for a new release valkyrie, which has been years since we've all done so*.

BBTS has heard that Takara may make the Classics more show accurate in paint apps. This is a rumor so far, but thats what they heard, and they are looking into it for verification. I passed on Astrotrain and Megatron regrettably thinking they would get show accurate g1 colors. This might be my chance to make up for that mistake. -

I am not sure what AKIMAN and others are doing. Man this brings back memories, I remember my favorite artists from capcom, an the ones I did not favor too much. If anything, I hope they get Shinkiro to do the boxart and a lot of the game art. I imagine AKIMAN might contribute stuff, if not oversee and consult the visuals department. I do remember, that my favorite capcom artist was a girl who started there young(I think she interned at first), ended up staying with the company, and did a lot of cell shaded art for Street Fighter II Turbo.
