  1. That too! I'm already set on buying this, but double jointed knees would be icing on the cake. If its there, it would be the most poseable VF-1 released yet. If it has tailhooks, and wings that can sweep back in battroid mode while still holding the missles on, then it will be even better(only the HCM could do this)! That would destroy any desire for me to own the vintage HCM.
  2. Perfect variable no moving flaps or removable nosecone to expose radar double jointed elbows nose transformation similar to VF-0 less than $100 arms hidden better in fighter mode than on 1/48 resulting in sleeker underside yet maintaining good clearance between ground and gunpod non splitting thrusters within feet bigger arms and hands in proportion to body than the 1/48(aka no more chicken hands) The thing some of us are trying to figure out, is whether it also has double jointed knees
  3. So what? The VF-1A was cannon fodder too, yet Hikaru's was awesome in DYRL. Same for Max in the TV series. The VF-11 is just a sweet bird. Sure its outshown(arguable) in the series it is shown in, but its a beautiful aircraft, regardless if its blown to bits or not in Macross 7. Before the 19 and 21, it was the best in the Macross canon. Even if the VF-19S was cannon fodder in Macross 7 or any other series, I would not care and still like it a lot like I do now(yes I know it wasn't cannon fodder but I think most of you see my point). Even if roles were reversed, and the 19 and 21 were the ones being replaced by the 11 in Macross Plus, all of us would still like the 19 and 21. I agree with you guys, the VFX-2 scheme for the VF11 was BAD ASS.
  4. The red insignia trooper might make it, I forgot if hasbro mentioned it or not at their recent q/a's. Its highly possible someone will ask them this at toyfair next month, so we should have an answer soon. It is a troop builder that most fans want, and I think its inevitable that it arrives in single pack form. Think of the clone troopers in Star Wars, to me its the same premise. As far as Baroness, she is said to not be on single cards yet because they could not give her a fixed crotch to enable her to sit. If anything I think a new mold or heavily retooled one will make it to shelves in single card format, rather than the battle pack one with a fix.
  5. I did! I liked it. Grimlock's robot design looks much better now that I've seen it in color. Prowl has some redeeming qualities since he was able to feel pity for the dinobots, but he is still a dick.
  6. I could care less about a moving seat in this toy. I just want something with the detail and aesthetic we've come to expect from Yamato, with the sturdiness and durability to hold up for a very long time.
  7. Hopefully we see a lot of news on the new VF-1 soon.
  8. Yes Early devils due, judging by Storm Shadow's costume, which was designed by Mike Zeck. Still wondering why he is shirtless. Me neither, he was never as cool as the original 13 in my eyes. That figure will make a good greenshirt though.
  9. Naw he must've gotten a job with Aoshima, and his first project was probably the Legioss.... I'm glad someone new is onboard. I have a feeling less people will start waiting for the 2nd run releases from yamato from hereon out.
  10. Yes, the new comics actually tie into the old marvel run, though Devils Due did some things that irritate many, like killing off Lady Jaye for nothing more than shock value. Agreed. Yes, the marvel run and current comic run. Reloaded was another continuity though.
  11. In which case, no one needs to defend them. Pat Lee's work is horrible but some of his designs do turn into pleasant looking toys. Albeit not to me, but I've noticed a lot of people like the Revoltech Prime, Megatron, and House of M Iron Man, all based on his designs.
  12. The J.Scott Campbell covers sucked. His art has detoriated into overly exaggerated figures(more so than before, his stuff before at least had a sense of realism). Ray Park is studying up on the old comics to find out more about Snake Eyes. Turns out he was a fan before he was casted as well.
  13. I hope CMs releases the Legioss seperately, the Tread is cool, but I'd want at least 1 Legioss. I like the F/A-18 Hornet vibe I am getting from it.
  14. Sounds good. Honestly, its starting to sound like the Snowspeeder turned out much better than the X wing. The gunship has a lot of things going for it until it gets to robot mode. I am planning to get the ARC-170 sharkmouth and eventually Millenium Falcon, and until then, waiting for the new designs to be unveiled. I hope the Xwing gets another go, completely redesigned with different transformation, bigger proportions in robot mode, and based on the more recent xwing toy in the regular line. I worry about how a B wing would turn out. I hear the Jedi Starfighter with hyperspace ring isn't bad, and that with some tinkering, actually does have decent shoulder movement. An obiwan version is coming out next month. I'd love to see a big Obi wan Transformer with a huge vehicle that can be used to take on the Death Star. An Obi Wan with hood from the OTC.
  15. Just lines etched into the seat, no sculpted in displays or anything like that. Cody has one of the best looking robot modes in the line, which is one of the main reasons I bought him. Hey can the Snowspeeder robot move his arms/shoulders forward at all? I was wondering if there was movement there despite the panel blocking it. The immobile shoulders on the gunship destroyed my temptation to buy it.
  16. Even though I understand why it was done(and honestly the reason why has been beaten like a dead horse many times), its still disapointing nonetheless. The first gestalts where the individual members completely outdo the whole, which in itself defeats the purpose and meaning of gestalt, if you think about it. I just got Commander Cody, the SWTF. Great solid figure with hidden weaponry. Vehicle mode is good, I am a fan of piloted mecha. Robot mode looks great but despite having full articulation, it is hindered by the sculpt. A lot of parts get in the way of movement. The mobility hindrance is the main disappointment.
  17. Agreed Their business decisions, not their design/engineering teams, which are excellent.
  18. Hey Saverobotech, was any other company at Superfest? Did CMs say anything about selling the Legioss seperately? I don't think I can afford the bundle yet. Right now the only alternatives to CMs are Aoshima and Toynami. With that said, I would gladly take the CM as inaccurate as it is.
  19. Its possibly due to the fact that it was a mashed up cartoon and toyline. It was a cartoon that took too many shortcuts, and done by an animation company that wasn't up to par with most anime it was going against. The toyline was a mix of old and new toys, and some of the old toys were ones no one wanted, yet main characters in the show(the 3 beast wars repaints). Had the line been all new and consistent with new molds, maybe the toyline would have been different. The Combaticons and Black Convoy were probably the only older toys people wanted. I don't think mixing in the spychangers and old beast wars repaints was a good idea. It just wasn't a "new" toy line through and through, and I think it suffered for it. Add to that, the cartoon wasn't all that great. In some ways, it seemed like a half assed effort. Same reason the only RID/Car Robots toys that are constantly revered were all the new molds from that line, and Black Convoy. It was probably filler for Hasbro because they probably knew the cartoon wasn't all that, they were already working on Armada with Takara, and just wanted something to tide kids over till then. Besides, the molds were already made, so no further expense on their part, just profit from selling toys that were already ready to go. Free money in a way. Except for the fact that his Voyager class toy is smaller than Deluxe Bumblebee.
  20. I liked Build King Devastator much better than the Energon version. After collecting a lot of Energon toys during the time it was on tv, I grew dissapointed with some of my purchases. Energon was just bland. Articulation was there one some toys, but when it didn't suffer, the overall aesthetic did. It also seemed that some toys were neglected in the design stage due to either last minute decisions or budget cutting. Some of the designs did not seem complete. Afterwards, it did not appeal to me as much as Cybertron and Classics. Build King Devastator looks much better if you do not transform it as shown on the box. He screams Devastator more than the compromised energon version does.
  21. If they raise the price, less people will buy. If the price is less, more people will buy. You can't make sales without people buying.
  22. 6,800 yen Being that the original 1/48 FP set was 6,400 yen give or take, its doubtful that the price for new FP's would be what you would call "traditional". More like "half the price".
  23. Its happened for years, but no one knows why, the latest being the mistransformed shoulders on the Commander Cody STWF in the latest ad. They are not as bad as the various mishaps seen in store ads though. Still makes you wonder though. Thats my main attraction to it too. I really wish Hasbro had based it off of the newer Red 5 Xwing, rather than the vintage kenner one from the 70's(the stubby, chubby out of proportion one with small wings). I want to see a well done A-wing, B-wing, and TIE Interceptor. A big transformer like the falcon or death star vader would be a welcome addition. Maybe a Star Destroyer that turns into Darth Revan.
  24. Again, why the hell would the charge more for something a lot smaller? If you are going to bring up the VF-0, like you did earlier, have you even seen the 2 side by side? The VF-0 is a giant in comparison. Even the article that said 10,000 yen may have actually said less than 10,000 yen. What you are saying is like bandai charging the price of a PG Gundam for a MG Gundam. Its market suicide.
