  1. The hands are NOT the same as the 1/48's! They actually look closer to the HCM's. The new hands do not fold at a diagonal angle, just a right angle, unlike the 1/48, where the lower fingers were folded at a diagonal angle. The hands on this are more straight forward. Notice the tab to help keep the gun in place. The new positioning of the fingers as well as the tab should make the gun connection more sturdy than the original 1/48. Notice the intake covers are either painted or molded inside the intake and viewable from underneath. Pretty nifty. There might be double jointed knees, but the lower knee joint may be obscured and not viewable. The backpack locking mechanism looks better, maybe its just me, but I have a feeling we won't see any BP8 breakages with this toy. Just wish they were newer pictures, yea half of them are, but I'm talking dengeki hobby 2 page spread showcasing transformation.
  2. Holy hell thats horrible! I agree with you, I'm not even sure why they shaft the shoulder articulation, shaft the waist articulation instead! Also thank you for providing pictures! I've spent a long time trying to see the limits of the articulation, and finally I can see it. Is there anything that can be shaved down to free up the shoulders? Does he have ratchets with good tension? Thats one of the best aspects for the Cody SWTF. I can see why this figure has double jointed elbows, they definitely seem to help! Also the clone helmet is excellent. Overall, do you recommend him, and how would you rank him compares to the ones you have? Here is mine for the ones I have: 1-Death Star Vader 2-Cody 3-ARC-170 4-X Wing I place the ARC-170 before Luke solely because the alt mode is more accurate to its onscreen counterpart, and he can stand on his feet a lot easier. Did you mean green and white? The new one coming out will be red and white, Ep II colors.
  3. I've heard the legs on the original were looser, but the fixed legs look so much worse! 3 of mine I believe are symetrical, the lower right one is definitely asymetrical. The fixed one just makes the legs more stable, but makes the toy worse in other areas. There is no point in making one mounting point asymetrical, so the ball was definitely dropped on mine, for no apparent reason. Its ridiculous. Agreed! Honestly the ARC-170's arm articulation is more dissapointing, because it lacks a locking mechanism! The shoulders are just flimsy, the movement is better on the ARC-170 arms no doubt, but there is barely enough tension to hold any nice position you put them in. I hear the Jedi starfighter with hyperspace ring is one of the best SWTFs. Still trying to find out if he can raise his arms 90 degrees straight forward, or at least close to that. An obi wan repaint is coming out soon for that mold. I'll give it this, its one of the best looking in the line.
  4. Can you guys stay on topic? I never thought I'd ever say it, but here I am. I want to read about news or speculation regarding the new VF-1, not a Skull one YF-19. That can be in the "movies and tv" section.
  5. I am the opposite in some ways. I feel like strangling Bumblebee every time I hear him, dislike Prowl's dickish attitude(not only in Animated, but also in the IDW comics, he is compassionate towards the Dinobots which is good, but his personality is the most cliche, of the dickish hard ass lone wolf who eventually warms up to the team and realizes there is no "I" in team yadda yadda, won't be surprised if he hugs everyone at the season finale). I like Bulkhead mainly because of his design, but I don't like how he says "my bad" and comes off way too much as a lummox jock of the team. He is good when he fights though, just destroying everything in his path, or trying too. I don't like his characterization of "hey guys I am f$%^&*( huge and powerful but slow at learning things, please teach me while these humans teach me slang earth vocabulary). Honestly I was expecting him to be more serious. Bumblebee whines too much and doesn't take anything seriously. I'm not expecting him to be like the movie version or g1 version, but he is just annoying! More so than Rattrap was. Yes before any apologist tells me, I do realize he is young bla bla, he will grow, doesn't matter because kids love him and he will sell the show to some of them u huh, whatever. Oh and yes I do know the japanese audience loves the young hero types hence the love for Rodimus, and how Hot Shot was a standard in the armadaverse bla bla bla. Ratchet has a past behind him, things he regrets, and knows better than most of the team. He just wants to be left alone. He has a more interesting character than the younger bots. He definitely comes through at the end without screwing up as much as the younger bots either. He has something to make up for, which is a good catalyst for him. Prime definitely assumes the role of leader despite his past as well, which I like. I also like how Prime instantly tries something on the spot, and doesn't give up. There isn't much to not like about him. As for Lockdown I think he is interesting. Most mercs in shows are portrayed as just guys out for blood for money. This guy just wants stuff for his arsenal. He put up a good fight too, and he remembers who he fights, despite fighting a ton of robots. He is persistent, which is a good character trait for him, as it keeps him a threat.
  6. After constantly staring at the X-wing Luke SWTF, I finally picked him up. He's okay, the main draw for me was that he is an X wing and Luke. He is not without his flaws however. The tabs used to line up his lower wings in alt mode hinder shoulder articulation, and really aren't necessary. It is a pain to get his wings into attack position. If you bend the upper wings at their bend joint, they are angled up too high. If you use the engines to angle the wings instead, the arms from robot mode are no longer hidden. However the latter way is the best way for the attack position, as it does not angle the wings at an extreme like just bending the upper wing joints. The hexagonal open space on the right wing for the gun mount is at a different angle than the rest, resulting in difficulty holding the gun in the right position in alt mode. Mine is the more stable version, with the legs being ratcheted, but unfortunately, not able to slid upwards to be parallel to the waist like this. So this fix hurts it a lot aesthetically.*note-if yours is in TAC packaging, it probably has the fix, the 2006 versions do not to my knowledge* The arms don't fall off on mine. I like piloted mecha, and toys of them are fun to play with, which is another reason I was drawn to the SWTFs, after months of hesitating. I thought Xwing Luke would be a regretful purchase, the one everyone dreads. However, after slicing off the tabs that hindered his arm movement, he is a more enjoyable toy. I'm not a fan of the alt mode proportions but the xwing does look to scale with the included figure. As surprising as this sounds, he is actually more solid than the sharkmouth ARC-170 SWTF I bought last week. He actually does have side to side shoulder movement, but it is very limited. It helps angle the lower wings downward in alt mode too. Pros: -better leg/hip stability than previous version -good scale to pilot -decent articulation -place for pilot to sit in both modes -tight joints -long landing gear Cons: -proportions in both modes(fat in alt mode, skinny in robot mode, come to think of it, if this were reversed, BOTH modes would look better, and the robot would actually resemble the box art! -arm tabs to align lower wings in alt mode limit shoulder movement in robot mode(before I modded it) -very back heavy -no secure way to lock sfoils in attack position(thankfully the wing/engine joints have enough tension to hold position. -odd hexagonal insertion point for cannon on lower right wing -can barely hold lightsaber -missles don't shoot that far. -hard to align cannons in alt mode -Leg position looks worse than the original(trade off for better stability) If the xwing is one of your favorite vehicles, you might like this toy. I recommend modding the shoulder/engine area to free up the shoulder movement. Chances are the one you buy will be like the one I have with the leg fix, which does hurt aesthetically as it makes his legs look too close together and makes him look too skinny overall, but does aid in stability since there are ratchets in the hips. I also recommend using the waist plates to help aid in the aesthetic so the legs won't look so skinny, it balances out the aesthetic in a way. This isn't a must buy, in fact I was hestitating in hope that a better version would come out later on. Decent, but better with the shoulder mod(all you need is a knife to slice off the tabs). I give it a C.
  7. Ratchet and Prime are my 2 fav autobots in this series. I liked learning more about Ratchet's background. Didn't no it would be tied to Arcee. He has more reason to kick Lockdown's ass. Lockdown was great except for the voice. I thought he would sound more sinister. Good karma in that episode.
  8. VF-3000 & VF-19S. 3000 is like the VF-1 smacked together with an F-14 and OD's on steroids. The Blazer is badass.
  9. Toynami based theirs off an existing model kit. CM's made something out of nowhere. There was bound to be differences. CMs has some disturbing design inaccuracies, but from what SaveRobotech said, it sounds like it will be a very durable toy. It may be inaccurate to the Legioss lineart, but its far from looking like a toy for 4 year olds.
  10. Still eagerly anticipating new pics in this months hobby mags, or next months, whichever comes first.
  11. Next month at toyfair. I think he is inevitable since he is based on Larry Hama's likeness, and Larry Hama is working with Hasbro again... The biggest complaints for removable helmets were that the heads were proportionally too small compared to the rest of the body. Take for example, battle mask Cobra Commander.
  12. Bull. Gunbuster is popular, and is meant to be corny. Good anime, even popular in Macrossworld. Not to mention the SOC was probably tied to an anniversary of it. Ignore the gaijin fanbase that thinks they are important and bigger than they really are, true. Cater to the japanese fans that haven't shown huge demand for Macross 7 toys, yes. And with no anniversary or big media event in years past to support it, Bandai would do that why? 15th anniversary for Macross 7 is next year, if Bandai still holds the 7 license and aims to do something, it will most likely be by then. Unlike Gundam, Macross is not on every year.
  13. What nearly all of you forget is that Bandai made the HCM valkyrie, the only VF-1 toy even until now, able to sweep its wings back in battroid mode while still having the missles mounted underneath. It also had tailhooks. Everybody always mentions the Macross 7 toys or the chunky monkeys. What no one bothers to mention is that Bandai made a DX toy for the Aquarion, which is not as popular as Macross nor has the history/recognizability in comparison, and also made a high end SOC for freaking Ideon. Seriously, who the **%^&* knew who Ideon was? Ask anyone who Ideon is, and chances are most will remember Macross more than Ideon.
  14. No clue on that one man, I want a removable helmet, but people are skeptical due to the size of the head, and think its just swappable. I'm just getting the figures I want, of characters I like.
  15. For those of you who want a realistic representation of the Dragonfly that is more to scale with the new anniversary figures, I suggest the 21st century 1/18 XD Ah-1W Cobra. 4th version of Snake eyes in the anniversary line Dude that is awesome. Armored Cobra Commander is wave 6 but has a Beachhead head underneath. Not sure why a Fred head isn't there instead. I have a suspicion the Fred version will be in a comic pack. Confirmed in a comic pack later this year. If they remake the vintage v4 in the anniversary line, the only thing that needs to be neon is the visor, the swords and gear would look much better in realistic colors as you suggested. In actuality crimson red would work much better than neon orange on the visor. I am so glad the v3 remake is a new mold rather than just a repaint. The texture on the torso is excellent, the original figure had that too. The only thing missing is his blowgun but I could care less. Now I wonder, will he have a smaller packpack peg, or the original?
  16. Wave 7....UNVEILED! The v4 Snake Eyes is based on the vintage V3! WITH NEARLY ALL OF HIS ORIGINAL WEAPONS! Looks like an entirely new sculpt. It also looks like a vintage v4 homage as well as VSV version can be easily made from this tooling. The v designations for the anniversary figures refer to their anniversary incarnations now so.... V1 Snake Eyes=box set version V2 SE=single pack wave 1 V3 SE=single pack wave 5 black costume V4 SE=vintage V3 remake It looks like Hasbro is going in chronological order for SE releases. The next few Snake Eyes figures we can expect could be a few repaints, along with a vintage V4 homage(who would be next in line after vintage v3), and Ninja Force. I don't like the Viper's outward angled hands.
  17. Looks like trans scanning has a US designed box as well as voyager sized. Wouldn't be surprised if it came here. I would buy them. BTW just got the ARC-170 SWTF. Looks great in both modes but robot mode is dissapointing due to the flimsy shoulders, and easily detachable thighs.
  18. That I'm not sure. She wasn't in wave 4 because they couldn't find a way to do a crotch fix without ruining the sculpt. She is popular so I'd expect her in a later wave, maybe an all new mold.
  19. HELL YEA THEY WOULD! Kwinn rules. Them too. Confirmed, most likely fall. Tiger Force Flint is already in the walmart computers, and Baroness may come out in red with a whip(according to the trading card deck pictures) Believe me, everyone feels that way, whenever a new assortment is on hisstank most fans complain about it. To me it is too much right now, because look at the comic packs. They are in damn near every wave. The only redeeming factor, is that the wave 3 versions have new parts, and the wave 4 Storm Shadow is an entirely different design based on the Mike Zeck design. I'm glad that wave 7 SE is going to be v4, which is good since its a different version rather than just a repaint. You're not alone, those guys are mentioned in a near daily basis at hisstank. OH. And no Lift Ticket without a Tomahawk! Vipers and Falcon are confirmed for later this year btw. Should be, even though it is the least liked costume amongst the fandom, it was one of my favorites. It didn't look boring like his Ninja Force costume(the one where he just had eye holes, and a scimitar). V4 Snake Eyes arguably had the best weaponry.
  20. The first 1/72 YF-19's tab B, the first 1/72 VF-11B's hips, and the VF-0A/S first release's arms were faults of the factories, not the consumers. Does anyone have the same problem as me? Is it normal? Thanks Its normal, both of mine have them, and it sucks. The only good thing is that the joints are still secure despite this happening.Despite that, it shouldn't happen to begin with. To be honest, I think its an inevitable breakage and should have been preventable from the get go. True, but again and again a Yamato fan dickrides Yamato hard and defends everything they make no matter how fragile, even despite hearing the legitimate honest complaints. It goes both ways, unfortunately. Remember the friendly supporter or helpers of yamato from macrossworld or whatever the hell that group was a few years back? You're not of the ones who blindly supports Yamato, EXO, but there are many who do, no matter what breaks. To be honest, I feel like I get more bang for the buck with those than I do with Revoltechs(which I like, but comparing what you get in either case, you do get a lot more in the 1/100 valks). Agreed. Mine broke over time, I enjoyed posing it in battroid mode, then one day discovered the breakage, it was not broken out of the box in my case. It may be different than others.
  21. Wave 7 revealed today: V4 Snake Eyes ftw!
  22. Naw the coronation armor is made by fans.
  23. New joe stuff CONFIRMED by the admin(DESTRO) of Hisstank(he personally called walmart) I got a feeling Storm Shadow will be the wave 4 comic version with painted shirt and forearms. Some think it is either that, a more accurate v2, or Ninja Force. Ninja Force or repaint wave 4 comic version would do it for me, but I'd rather have the wave 4 comic version with shirt and forearms in the comic pack, and single pack Storm Shadow be the ninja force costume instead. Hawk may either be the General version, or the comic version but with a different paint job. Serpent may actually be Classic Serpentor, as he was in the trading card deck given at SDCC, and is set for fall release. Hard Master is a must for me, and I hope the SE he comes with is in the training gi, that way a early Storm Shadow in training gi is easy to make. From bbts, the packout for wave 2 is: AGREED completely. I hate the trays for both the comic packs and box sets. It can actually lead to breakage too, since parts can be warped, and weapons are held in the hands for display but can also make the hands warped in transit. Not to mention some pieces are made from softer plastic, and the tray can make cuts into those pieces easily. I'm all for neutral posing, no trays with limbs secured in them, and no weapons held in hands in package. Also remember when everyone complained about figures not being able to hold their weapons? When weapons are placed in their hands in package, it contributes to that.
  24. Is it true that the Shadow Alpha MPC is the most durable of all the Alpha MPC's?
  25. But its perfect variable and accomplishes some things better than the 1/48!
