I wish I had a Legioss/Alpha to shoot pics of. I keep hoping a japanese company buys the Gakken molds and reissues the 1/35 sons of bitches. Cm's might outdo them but those have presence. Hey Wicked Ace, can your Shadow Alpha MPC hold its gun up high for a long period of time? I keep hearing that the diecast in the arms eventually wears down the shoulder joints. Yet I am tempted to pick one up...

Yea Bandai/BW is a mechanical giant, HG is small, I doubt HG could take them on in court. Oh and the VF-25 has nothing to do with the legalities of this, niether do the other mecha, I remember another thread where the legalities are discussed, but this one is for mecha. I have feeling the 171's arms are actually a bit thicker than what was shown in the hobby japan scans. The images looked like they were edited in photoshop quickly and someone erased a bit too much on the arms.

I like it. I'm not done watching it yet, the only thing annoying me so far are the cliche gun sequences that are typical of John Woo films. Storywise, it seems more predictable than the last one. The music selection seems more fitting on this release though.

I doubt they'd do that. They even gave Dragonar, a less popular mecha, two types of removable accessories(that ship thing and the flight pack), when they could have totally cheaped out and made them nonremoveable. Itching to see new pics in the monthly hobby mags.

Same here man, I am saving money, so honestly I won't be buying any Legioss of any kind for a while from any company. However, I prefer the CM's Legioss sculpt(I know I am in the minority in this one). I've seen great pics of the Toynami alpha from your site, and many others, and the Toynami MPC just looks like a trainwreck from the side. No doubt it may be more accurate, and looks better in some ways, but the CMs has a more fighter-like appearance for the fueselage, from the top it is appealing, till you see the back. I hate how the knees stick out on the CM's in fighter mode, but overall, inaccuracies aside, I do prefer the CMs sculpt.

Honestly I have a feeling it will be "Toynami did this wrong, CM did this right, both are expensive, if you want a good toy, save up for CM's, if you want something that looks like the Imai but has diecast just for the sake of diecast in all the wrong places, get the Toynami". I think CM's will have the more durable and "toy-like" toy.

The main thing I don't like in Animated right now aside from Bumblebee's annoying personality and Bulkhead saying "my bad", is the soundtrack. It doesn't fit. Judging from the titles, I have a feeling season 1 will have a huge cliffhanger and the Autobots will be utterly wrecked. Its a 2 parter with Megatron utilizing his earth mode body.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the single card blue Baroness that is coming out will have a repaint in black as a target exclusive. I don't know if any of you noticed, but that blue Baroness prototype has an identical mold to the battle pack version from last year, but with a retooled fixed crotch. Baroness was not released in wave 4 because they could not fix her crotch at the time. Target tends to get the better Hasbro exclusives, and being that they are getting an exclusive Clone Wars figure, and the first anniversary joe vehicles, I would not be surprised if they got an exclusive Baroness. However this is definitely just a rumor for now, I haven't even heard of such a thing at hisstank yet.

I got a better one:its like the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, based on the F/A-18A-D Legacy series, with similar components and appearance, but a new plane.

Maybe the VF-171 is a retrofitted VF-17. Like the F-14D® was a retrofitted/remanufactured F-14A made into an F-14D. Basically same body but many different enhancements. New engines, radar, avionics, weapons, and other enhancements could make the 171 a totally different beast than the 17 despite looking very similar.

I think non valkyrie refers to Qrau and other mecha in the Macross F series.

Mine have yet to fall off. The paint job could be better, I don't mind the blue paint but the clear blue plastic on the guns is too bright. The thing that I hate is the inconsistent weathering. One panel weathered, the one next to it clean. I planned to weather mine anyways so everything will look more consistent after I am done.

The only upcoming Baroness' I know of are the Mass device scuba one in the box set, and the single card blue suit one, but both are mass market, neither is an exclusive.

There are still more blades on the original DX Golion & Trendmasters reissue, than the upcoming Voltron stand/blade set by Toynami. I am excited for the new MPC plastic Voltron. I hope BBTS keeps the $44.99 price.

Rock and Roll still has those damn unfixed Duke arms. It irritates me how the arms from Duke and the Cobra trooper crotch has yet to be fixed. Armored Cobra Commander is awesome. Unfortunately a head swap with the comic pack CG/Fred head does not net good results. The Fred head fits loosely on Cobra Commander's body and while the helmet fits, its a bit tight. The best Cobra Commander in the line so far. Torpedo is one of the best figures in the line and completely outdoes the original. The original looked like a sleepy diver who was bored as hell and fell asleep on the job. The new one has a lot of removable accessories, 4 peg holes for his feet/flippers, 3 weapons, and 2 holsters. Its great that one of the most overlooked and underrated characters recieved so much love in this line.

No, the transforming stuff is for people who want toys that transform without parts swapping, which the model kits almost always have. They want something that can be handled and can played with, rather than just displayed. Model kit like proportions are only on model kits such as Hasegawa. Besides, on all the yamato valkyries, the battroid and gerwalk modes have come after the fighter mode, the fighter mode is the preferred mode of Kawamori and also the one most emphasized on all the variable Yamato releases.

Desert Brawl is amazing, one of the best leader figures I have picked up in a long time. I wish the ratchets were tighter, and that his thigh swivels were ratcheted, as they tend to swivel inwards(depending on how the toy is standing) and the toy ends up toppling over due to that. Armed to the teeth, a lot of articulation, and the epitome of how a movie Decepticon should be. I don't think any of you would hate this figure.

I am definitely considering picking that up too, the price is too good to pass up. UN, are you sure the base is included? Is that the same one from toyfair? The one with the electronics? That sounds too good to be true for the price, also its not mentioned on the BBTS preorder page for that Voltron.

Since the MPC Beta will be $80 at BBTS, any future Alphas should cost much less. If the Beta turns out well I may purchase it. I am astounded to see prices like this from Toynami, I hope this is a sign of things to come, as their products have been overpriced since they started.

Oh man I hope we get a scan of the winner's VF-25 illustration. I'm fond of Kawamori's inked illustrations.
