  1. Doubt it, there could be a grunt version that is different. In macross 7 the VF-19 had an F version, but it was not a grunt version, it was still used by Emerald Force. At the same time, prior to that, there was a VF-19A used in VFX-2. Both versions significantly different. There might still be a cyclops eyed VF-25A with one antenna that we have yet to see.
  2. Hey maybe the VF-171 has less mobility and performance in space compared to the VF-17. However in the atmosphere, maybe it owns the 17. I love how sleek the fighter mode looks, I hope we see a grey scheme eventually.
  3. Agreed. This guy FTW Also I stupidly neglected the 1/55 reissues a couple years back in favor of the 1/60 VF-1 by Yamato. What a mistake that was! So I am glad Hikaru's 1J is being reissued yet again. Just in time too, right after craving that particular valk after watching SDF Macross, and missing out on it a year ago at katsucon because the dealer would only take cash. This time I hope they go all out. Unlike 2002 where there was just a 5 episode OVA, this time around they have an entire TV series to coincide with release. I want a GPS-1, DYRL trio and more!
  4. Here is an even better question: -Does the CM's Legioss have any of the problems that the Toynami MPC has in robot mode?(as in arms gradually loosening due to the weight of the lower arms and diecast, et al)
  5. -Does it feel fragile at all -Are there ratchets all over the place? -Is it a lot more durable than Toynami's MPC? -Did your head explode by the sheer amount of awesomeness after the first transformations? -Can the Tread retract its landing gear? -Is the connection with Legioss and Tread stable enough for me to swoosh it around? -Are there any questionable construction elements?
  6. If anything I hope they finally make a TV Max type VF-1A. Takatoku was such a damn tease showing that thing in the 80's catalogs, but never producing it. I will most likely buy the CF VF-1A, I am buying Hikaru's 1J for sure. I hope for the DYRL gift set trio, and the GPS-1 armor. The chunky monkey is a timeless toy, it was good then, still good now.
  7. And those were the only pics he provided?! Ahhh!!! I want to see the damn thing opened and transformed already!
  8. fart YEA!!!!!!! Damn I don't even regret VOE not emailing me back or returning my calls for an inquiry on the reissues from way back. Screw that, bring on the new chunkies!
  9. I read reviews that said the 1st one had absolutely terrible choreoagraphy for the humans. Thoughts?
  10. I would wait a few weeks. The only exclusives showing up are the 5 packs, Cobra Nightwatch and Snake Eyes vs Red Ninjas. The 3 figure officer sets are shipping from the website, but have yet to hit the brick and mortar stores. Even then the joes are sporadic at TRU, every now and then someone finds wave 5 or 6 and the new comic packs. Most of the time, anyone is lucky to find anything. In my area the joes are relegated to such a small section near the endcaps. I can't help but feel that TRU dropped the ball with the anniversary joes. The exclusives are nice but the mass market stuff is hard to find. Aside from the TRU exclusives, the best places to look for anniversary joes are Target and Walmart. I am noticing now that Target is catching up. I have witnessed more full pegs at Target lately, than at Walmart.
  11. After seeing Pascal's video of Premium Prime I am tempted to buy it. I have Leader Prime, but Premium Prime is tempting nonetheless, due to the new head, paint and especially the sword. The G1 transformation sound is a nice change too. Its too bad there is still no blue LEDs. I have a hard time deciding whether to buy it or not though, if it had more differnt parts and a more substantially different paint job, I would buy it for sure. I have to see it in person. Definitely buying Premium Megatron, as I have yet to purchase a leader Megatron. Anyone have Payload and Longarm? Would you recommend them? I think you'd like Starscream, Ratchet and Leader Prime. Very durable, great articulation, very stable, and pleasant transformations. I think you will find the transformations on Starscream and leader Prime especially, more innovative than Ironhide and Blackout. Blackout needs more solid connections, and Ironhide needed a more secure way of latching his doors in robot mode. Ratchet is as durable as a brick yet moves very well for a large figure. Of the voyagers, he and Starscream are the largest in robot mode. Leader Prime is awesome, the main thing I find questionable are the protrusions on the back of his knees, which prevent the knees from bending all the way(right now he can bend the knees, but not to 90 degrees).
  12. We will know for sure after the joecon Try going there on a friday or saturday morning, I am not sure of the exact stock days, but it is one of the 2. If your local store rarely has exclusives, its either that they were not ordered for that particular store, or people are hiding the exclusives elsewhere in the store, preventing them from being re ordered. This is a common problem a lot of people who look for anniversary joes at TRU are running into.
  13. I should be watching Mospeada soon. The one thing I like about the plot is that Stick has a good reason to be pissed, and that it doesn't seem like he will be able to accomplish his deeds easily.
  14. The first IGLOO was out over here? The hell? Damn I have to go track that one down. Imanishi is directing the new one so I look forward to it.
  15. He has, along with Voyager Skywarp. Kickback at tfw2005 said that he expected Thundercracker to be released first, so heres to hoping we see both(I've loved the color schemes of those 2 since my younger years).
  16. Actually I was referring to why they were complaining, and most of the complaints do stem from the release date not being any sooner(most of them thought it was tomorrow). Same here. Honestly I am impatient and hate waiting, but I decided to wait, to see if there are differences. Sometimes remolds and fixes are done on the final production toys and are not on the test shots, dealer samples and whatever ends up on ebay. I figured that it can't hurt to wait, it will give me time to save up since there is already a lot of stuff now that I am interested in(anniversary joes, DCUC wave 2, Mattel's Speed Racer, Star Wars, ML, et al).
  17. They ship a day after the street date actually, june 23
  18. Definitely a sequel to the CGI movie. Storywise and the same characters but with updated looks.
  19. He is dissapointing. I bought Armada Jetfire and Energon, and thought the Energon one would be better. Later on I realized how wrong I was. The Energon one has a Silpheed-esque alt mode and better leg articulation, but the Armada one has a better looking robot and shuttle mode and does not compromise as much for the sake of combining. Honestly the best Jetfires to me after G1 were the G2 Cyberjet and Classics.
  20. Agreed. You can definitely tell, by comparing the Thunderwing and Skystriker side by side. One, a F-22 derived craft with tiny wings and huge canopy, the other, a 1/32 Tomcat with enough room in the cockpit for 2 3.75" figures. A key battle/moment in the film is supposed to occur in a Night Raven. DESTRO and others on Hisstank who saw the preview clip at toyfair said its very reminscent of the old one. A few years back it was said the original Night Raven molds were lost in Brazil.
  21. Of course it looks like crap its fake. For those of you itching to see what toys we may see in the line: Unofficial movie toy list for 2009!
  22. 3-3/4" as usual. Hasbro has said they aren't planning any 6" ML style joes, so I doubt movie ones would come out. Also, some of the anniversary joes are more articulated than some of the 6" ML figures, so in that case, they would be redundant. Hasbro is even making a 3-3/4" Marvel line which will more than likely be like the anniversary joes.
  23. Official pictures of Snake Eyes' movie costume!
  24. Hell yea thanks for the vids and links the both of you. I like the new op.
