  1. Excellent. Thats what I want to hear. Are the shoulders and hips still on ball joints, or do they have ratchets this time around? I preferred the shoulder joints on the Bandais solely due to ratcheting as opposed to ball joints. The 1/48 was solid in fighter mode, this new toy must be very durable to be even tighter in fighter mode.
  2. Is it more solid than the 1/48? Do ratchets click loudly? Does it feel like it can loosen over time, like the 1/48(shoulder joints)?
  3. Alright guys Bandai has a collector's division set up for goods in the US for next year, and who knows, maybe the Toynami deal is included in their endeavor. If thats the case, there is no reason to believe Toynami is lying. All they are doing is distributing, and they are going off of what Bandai tells them. Yeah the Beta still isn't out, and every collectors item Toynami planned and developed was delayed. Bandai is making these valkyries, so its much different this time around. A company would have to be extremely incompetent to ruin this kind of deal.
  4. Yea but see with these toys, Bandai is making them not Toynami. All Toynami has to do is distribute them here. Now if they were making them,....
  5. The 6" figures. Any of the mk armors are good, avoid the punching Iron Monger(first one), get the Iron monger with opening cockpit. In package, you can see Obadiah Stane, so you'll know for sure which Iron Monger is which. That sucks man. If you have a stuck joint in the next one, try shoving it in the freezer for a few minutes, before trying to move the stuck joint. Mark Millar consulted the movie, and they brought him in primarily because movie Iron Man is derived much from Ultimate Iron Man. Its definitely looking that way. In the upcoming Hulk movie, I've heard that Bruce Banner is dropped from a helicopter as a catalyst for transforming into the Hulk. This was one of the highlights in the Ultimates. Jackson and RDJ have cameos in that movie.
  6. They are, the ankle armor just blocks movement. Those are standard on Marvel Legends figures for the past 2 & 1/2 years, maybe more so. If you collected ML, you are used to this. That sucks, I've had a few breakages due to stuck joints.
  7. Yes it is. Don't kid yourself, each company had expensive toys. Sculpt/detail/aesthetic yes. As a toy, no. In fact, I think the old 1/60 line was so bad that the new one was made to make up for it. So bad that when the 1/48 came out, most of us quickly jumped ship and forgot the old 1/60. Oh please, people thought the actual boycott would work years ago, and where are we now? Not a damn thing has changed.
  8. It depends on what you're looking for. If you want something durable, but can take that nostalgic looks, get a bandai. If you want something similar to a Bandai but with more moving features, missles, and other details, you will like the MPC. If you want the most detailed and articulated valkyrie and are willing to pay up, either buy a 1/48 now from Yamato, or wait it out for the new 1/60. Don't get the old 1/60 VF-1s, you will be dissapointed. Me personally, I am one of the handful on this forum that actually liked the MPC's. Not the best VF-1 toy, but certainly not the worst. If it had the proportions and durability of the Bandai it would be the best 1/55 scale VF-1 hands down.
  9. It isn't. It looks like the Repulsor Blast Iron Man. Articulation is minimal(not super articulated), and the armor add ons are plates for weaponry and cannons. Nothing like what is seen in the movie. mk3 is packed the most per case, and War Machine was harder to find a few weeks after release. Only lasted a few weeks in my area, right now he is hard to find. Same here. He did a great job as Rhodey. The morons in the theater I was in cut the film off right before Nick Fury was to show up in the credits. I had to watch it on youtube.
  10. Yep, DESTRO posted that a day or 2 ago, then TNI decided to call Neal Hoffman because they doubted him. Hasbro has the rights to M.A.S.K. since Kenner was absorbed into the company during the mid 90's. I hope we get M.A.S.K. vehicles somehow. Trakker had some bad ass vehicles towards the end of the line.
  11. Hey Kevin, do you know what the deal is with Toynami charging $79.99 for the VF-1J, and yet having the Super Valkyries for only $5 more? I figure the armorless valkyries should be more cheaper than $5 less. Anyways I am glad we are seeing these officially released stateside, I never thought this would happen. A childhood dream has come true. Yeah but see Matchbox/HG tried to bring over the valkyries here 20 years ago, but Hasbro got in their way. I am excited than most on this board for the new 1/60 VF-1, don't get me wrong. I'd be a lot less optimistic if Toynami themselves were doing the 1/55, as opposed to Bandai. The way I see it, we get an affordable way to obtain a timeless toy, as opposed to years back paying vintage prices for the same thing. Its never been outright said whether the DYRL armors were destroyed or not, its been said the HCM molds were, but I haven't heard a thing concerning DYRL armors. The 1/55 is a classic toy, and a part of history. What other transforming toy was like it during its time? I'm glad I have the opportunity to buy both the old toys, and the new stuff. I don't have to enjoy one over the other if I can enjoy all of them. Hey for some reason I get the hint Bandai is taking over development of Toynami's 1/100 line and introducing HCMpro valkyries with it. Think about it, similar price and scale.....and its been how long since we've heard the FAST packs would be out, or any news about them? I am glad Toynami is distributing Bandai goods, I trust Bandai.
  12. Which one do you have? The wave 7 version, the wave 1/3, or the single pack with 2 scabbards? A good replacement for that would be the single card Snake Eyes with visor that came out in wave 1 of the anniversary joes, or the wave 7 version which just came out, but lacks the visor.
  13. Chunky monkeys for a good price, and a good chance at finally getting a damn TV VF-1A Max type. HELL YES! Rare/exotic variants=DYRL armored trio to me! ELINT/SUPER O/STRIKE! Never thought I'd see the day where chunkies would be domestically distributed in the states. I am a happy man! \ Wait.......that means Hikaru's VF-1J and Focker's 1S will be around $65!
  14. Leader Bulkhead is closer to scale with the Autobots in robot mode. In vehicle mode, voyager Bulkhead is appropriate. Voyager Bulkhead and Lugnut don't look that out of scale when in vehicle mode with the rest of the figures.
  15. Surprised they left Wild Bill. Duke is only good if modified(arms). Wild Bill is a great figure, the only dissapointing thing about it is that the head is small. Snake Eyes, Wild Bill, and the Viper are the best figures in the wave. Snake eyes in that wave is the best one in the entire anniversary line, regardless of what costume it is based on. All of his weapons aside his nunchakus can be stored on his body. Technically you can shove his nunchakus in between his back and backpack, since it isn't shown or mentioned anywhere on the package, I don't think that counts. That figure has the best range of motion of any Snake Eyes in the anniversary line. This is one of the very best anniversary figures in the line. I'm hesitant to ever say that about a Snake Eyes figure, but in this case its true.
  16. Just got Stealth BB at Walmart, I asked them if they did price matches, and matched the Target price of $6.99! If you are going to try this, try to bring an ad with the price, I don't think it was ever posted in an ad, but its good to bring some sort of proof just in case. The contrast due to the gunmetal limbs is good. The right side of the head on mine has some of the grills painted, rather than the spaces inbetween on the left side. This is on a few parts, but since its small, its disappointing but not a major deal to me. The joints on mine are tighter than on my CC BB. My main disappointment is that the paint has a matte coat as opposed to a gloss coat. Other than that, the new paint job makes it look unique and different enough from CC BB to warrant a purchase. If you don't own a CCBB mold yet, skip the Premium, and get this one.
  17. Stane said he gave the Iron Monger his own enhancements. It was never stated that Stane knew how to do so, but since he was high up in the company, maybe he knew a thing or too about tinkering with electronics.
  18. Yeah, and why the hell would anyone expect the guys making the movie to know what the Itano Circus is? Loved the movie. Downey is perfect as Tony Stark. In general the plot was predictable, but not entirely. The comedy wasn't forced or cheesy, thank goodness, unlike most comic based films. Some of the CGI was obvious, but nowhere near as bad as it looks in the upcoming Hulk movie. I put this up there with Batman Begins and Spiderman I. Awesome how they left it open for a sequel. Pepper had some great comebacks in this movie.
  19. Yeah and nearly, or a bit more than double the price. Same here. Metallic paint like on Cybertron Galvatron>chrome in my opinion.
  20. They are, but they are more similar in format to Star Wars figures. A guy I know from a DC said that the store nearest to the DC didn't even have wave 7, and he ended up finding the wave at walmart.
  21. I think you are reading too much into it. I doubt these will ever show up in mass market, like at walmart. I think we will only see these via etailers or comic shops/specialty stores. They will just be cheaper than what we would usually have to pay for an import. The way I see it, Toynami found something a lot of people still like, something already made, and just made a distribution deal. More money for them in this case, with no work needed on the r/d end of the deal.
  22. SUPER Max is hard to resist. Significant in the beginning of DYRL, that was one AWESOME scene. George Sohn is a huge fan of the HCM, I wonder if he convinced Bandai to bring those back too, or got them to engineer a more affordable, but better MPC.
  23. Deluxes are down to $6.99. Sadly, most of whats on the pegs are multiples of Payloads! Animated should start hitting next month, and by then, the only movie figures I don't think will hit clearance are the leaders. Animated leaders will hit in August, so I think that brief 2 month window of time is our only chance to get the Premium Leaders at Target. I haven't even seen any Premiums at Target aside from the voyagers.
  24. Hey Kevin, can you ask them what else they plan to bring over? I smell strike valkyrie in this! Plus so durable, gloss paint coat...oh...oh...smooth...damn...yea...hell yea....gloss.... Funny how the imported stuff is barely more expensive than Toynami's domestic releases.
  25. If the releases are the exact same, with no Toynami alterations/modifications, then I am glad these things are being brought over. This means we can see them in comic shops without paying so high.
