  1. SMS is a PMC, so maybe another PMC was given the testing duties for the VF-27.
  2. I think both of the pics are of the 1/72.......I saw other galleries and the grey VF-25S was listed as one of the 1/72 models. Also, is it confirmed that the 1/72 models are MG?
  3. Damn thats corny. I still like my 2nd version: SMS-Super MotherF5678($%^78(! Sonsofbitches
  4. I wish I was being snarky, but I'm being honest. How many people were complaining the minute it was announced Bandai had the license and that Yamato couldn't get it until a few more years? The number of people who think Bandai will do a good job is outnumbered by the people who wish Yamato had the license and think would do a better job. When I heard this site referenced as Yamatoworld I wasn't surprised. It would be a lie to say most members on this site aren't biased against Bandai. It would also be a lie to say that most Macrossworld members are not faithful Yamato advocates. If the DX VF-25 turns out bust, then I'll say Bandai did a horrible job. Right now it looks good. More accurate than the 1/72 kit(reference views from the top of fighter mode and the section where the LERX starts from the nose). Already it looks a lot better than the DX VF-19's squashed proportions in fighter mode where it looked more like an FSW Legioss with canards as opposed to a VF-19. What we are seeing is clearly an early prototype without refinements.
  5. Its because Yamato isn't making the toys.
  6. Oh please its not even a finished prototype, not even in plastic. If Yamato did this, you guys would have been all happy and said not to worry, as its so early. I like what I am seeing so far, it will look better as it goes further in development. I see nothing that gives the impression that it will be out of proportion like the Macross 7 toys.
  7. EVERYONE does that. Why do you think there is always a disclaimer on package:*final product may vary*
  8. You are aware that a lot of Yamato and many other ads by other companies feature photos of products that may differ from final release correct? This is universal.
  9. ....that the new 1/60 might be better than the 1/48? Yeah, I can see that. =)
  10. I hope the DX is unveiled during the weekend.
  11. Agreed completely! I actually got my Fokker VF-1S MIB for $10.
  12. Shizuoka has officially started! Lets hope we see some DX VF-25 goodness soon!
  13. I highly doubt that. The more likely scenario is that every character in the movie will have new toys, and the only rereleased figures from the first movie are store exclusives. If anything I expect returning characters to have vastly improved toys with regard to accuracy and hiding the gimmicks. Most of the toys were designed far before the final renders were completed, and even characters such as Prime did not have a finished character design until a short while before the movie premiered. This time around it will be different, if the returning characters look the same in the sequel, the toys based on them will be a lot more accurate than the first ones. This time around at least Hasbro has finished character designs to work off of, at least with the returning characters. I think the TFA series/toys doesn't feel as different to me than G1, than the movie did, but I like both personally. I really wish the launch date wasn't delayed though, the toys are innovative and like Beast Wars, each figure has full articulation without the gimmick getting in the way. This is a huge thing for me, as it turned decent figures in the AEC trilogy into terrible toys. I am so glad the automorph gimmick from the movie line is being utilized in not only TFA, but the upcoming Universe/Classics figures. Just need a few more deluxes and real gears and I am done with my movie collection! Time to save up for Universe/TFA/TF2!
  14. No the F-14 could dogfight well in good hands. It was a multirole carrier fighter, you can say interceptor, and it did a fine job at that, but it was always meant to be multi role. Strike Eagle as a pure knife fighter? Are you kidding me? If you are going that route, the best one is the F-16A. Still waiting to watch this episode. I hope I see it soon, as 7 should be premiering this week.
  15. Thats just the first revision case though.... I don't since I open everything I buy. The 25th Anniversary was last year to be technical. I see these figures continuing alongside the movie ones though, maybe called "G.I. Joe Legends", basically having figures based on older series along or in the movie line. The same approach Star Wars and the Indiana Jones line are taking.
  16. True. Exactly. When Toycom first announced their stuff years back, I was excited at the prospect of getting valkyries domestically. The preorder prices were great. Then the whole deal collapsed. A resolution would mean all of us getting support for broken pieces, and Yamatos distributed domestically for far less than what we are paying now. Its actually in the "where to buy" forum, but his old Valk exchange site URL is still working! Pre-orders are there!
  17. Kevin just said George(CEO of Toynami) isn't letting that happen.
  18. Bull. It has better proportions in battroid mode than the 1/48. The only battroid mode better than the 1/55 are on the new 1/60. The only articulation I would want more on the 1/55 are universal movement hips. Considering that its got balanced proportions in each mode and will outlast most modern valkyrie toys in regards to durability, I think not. Your best bet is a variable IHP Hasegawa kitbash.
  19. I'm glad you did man. Mine doesn't look terrible but its dissapointing to see the plastic bent, when its not supposed to be. Its worth it trust me, afterwards, you'll wonder why they even put that spring into that arm to begin with! If you open up the left arm to place the big spring in, can you find out if the small spring on the trigger is even necessary? Mine flew into a random spot in my room! The big spring from the left arm is the most important, but I am wondering if the small spring on the trigger of the right is important(I hope not!). Also I have Stealth bumblebee and I lost one of his shoulder guards. Those guards are a PITA!
  20. Blonde. Brunette variant shouldn't be hard to do at all for Hasbro. Wave 8, he was pushed back twice. I am most likely passing, sure its an homage to the vintage figure with no moving right elbow, but that irritates me. Will wait for another version of Bludd with full articulation everywhere.
