  1. Its not just the hip kibble, the entire side of the fighter was exposed prior to, and afterwards not only was it covered, but the legs were completely different. Its more than just the hip kibble, again the leg molds are completely different. The proportions are different, why do you think so many people were pissed when it came out? I wasn't pissed, but a lot of people were. As far as wondering, well the VF-25DX is not finished. Otherwise they would have shown something further at shizuoka. Yamato usually shows their valkyries at more refined stages, its clear at this point that Bandai does not. The first 1/60 VF-0 sculpt was from the already tooled molds for production, its obvious that this VF-25 shown is not at that stage.
  2. Masterpiece Starscream. Yes there were major changes and you are overlooking what exactly happened with that, its not just the kibble, if it was, it would still look proportioned to the animation robot model, which the final toy was not. Not to mention, anytime Yamato showed a grey prototype, it was already tooled with the clear plastic showing, and different materials in their plain form. They rarely show anything as rough as a prototype as the DX VF-25 Bandai has shown. Not to mention, it may not have even reached tooling stage yet...just rough sculpt before Kawamori looks it over and requests changes(which he probably already did). The model kits I don't think will change, but the DX will most likely. Again, I think it unfolds. Try to picture it folding nearly 180 degrees, and see where the hip ball joints would then be placed. Really, so where is Yamato's 1/60 YF-21? Oh yea delayed, I wonder why. If Bandai has not reached the mold tooling stage, resculpting is not an issue. Its a WIP things change. There are only a few Bandai fans here, they just seem loud when they go against the grain and voice their opinion that Bandai can do better than Yamato, this place after all, is known as Yamatoworld after all.
  3. Tallgeese! And damn those are expensive for those tiny figures! Nearly $30!
  4. I didn't. Most of you guys were against the new 1/60 when the CAD drawings came out not too long ago. I seemed to be one of the only ones excited when most said the 1/48 was better, when I was saying the battroid mode looked better, people said "no the 1/48 is still king!". Even now I am still excited for the new 1/60. Oh and get this, its a yamato toy. Plus, I wasn't even one of the guys complaining about the YF-21 coming out. I'm just passing on it since it costs a lot. I wasn't one of the "ZOMG THE LEGS ARE TOO SKINNY OH NOES!" people. As for Bandai showing rough sculpts, its showing what they are working on. A LOT of model companies at Shizuoka showed off unfinished prototypes for plamo, like the the Sky Crawlers anime and various aircraft kits, its nothing new. Some companies even showed prototype cardboard sculpts of plamo planes.
  5. The Nora is the one with the best qc from what I heard, the Ivanov has the worst of the SV-51s. You are one of the few.
  6. Because its an unfinished prototype. Hey if Yamato makes a good, durable toy then I won't complain, and yes I have a 1/48 and like it, but it isn't perfect. So what just because I, and a few others like Bandai's and are waiting to see more til we cast final judgement we are called Bandaides? What should I call Yamato fans, Yamaturds? I'm not even bitter about the proportions about the 1/48, I just call it as I see it, the new 1/60 does better in that regard, it won't make me sell my Hikaru VF-1S. Its unfair to say that considering the prototype isn't even finished in those photos. Good man, you are in the minority. Considering that its not even finished yet... The 1/72 is off in fighter mode, the LERX's are placed too close to the randome, they should be further back, like on the DX. The crotch piece may not be unfolded/swiveled in the pictures, I think it does swivel downwards 150 degrees, to form a more animation accurate appearance.
  7. Wow looks better now that we see a clearer image, thanks for the post! This is the same picture in the ad shown as shizuoka, only this has much better clarity. Looks like the crotch is mistransformed, and the head lasers need to be angled back, and thats about it. Looks good so far. Not comparable at all to Bandai's DX Fire valk from years ago, this thing is way more accurate to the VF-25 animation model than the DX Fire valk was to the VF-19 animation model.
  8. Good question. I just hope if one does come out, its not an exclusive.
  9. No shiet, did you not read me asking about the new HGUC's?
  10. Please tell us what you don't like! And is it more durable than the 1/48, and close to the bandai?>
  11. I have the old 1/60 and 1/48, 1 each. You're mad the new 1/60 has none of the old 1/60 or 1/48 problems. WIN
  12. I'm talking specifically about the new HGUC's. The last time I built an HG model was way back in the mid 90's when Gundam Wing models were imported, this was a couple years before they were released in TRU after Gundam Wing got huge on Toonami. I've built models with no paint before, but its a wish of mine to take the time and paint one well this time around.
  13. This is going to sound stupid but when did Bandai start making HGUC with ABS plastic? I've noticed some of the newest models have at least 1 sprue of ABS. Are the newer HGUC's as durable as the MG's with ABS? I stopped building anything but MG years back(well and even then I rarely build) because MG was the only thing aside PG with ABS. Has the addition of ABS helped with the HGUC's? I am thinking about picking some up. I am a very casual modeler and I want to take a stab at painting this time. I figure an HGUC is the right way to go for me since: -its relatively cheap -offers a wide selection of obscure mecha that might not ever be made as a MG -easy to find The main ones I am looking at are the new Zaku F2 from 0080, and this green GM with dual saber staff.
  14. No clue, I think its the Robot Rebellion armor with anniversary figures...Robot Rebellion was to feature joes and cobras with removable armor. Hasbro always says those 2 sell well. The majority of members at HissTank are annoyed of seeing them, even though some of us understand why those 2 are always in the line. Just give me a Snake Eyes v4, Ninja Force Storm Shadow(and translucent Shadow Ninja repaint if possible), accurate Mike Zeck Storm Shadow from DDP, Storm Shadow's new costume from his solo book and '90 Cobra Commander, and I am set. I think its to accompany the Classic(Swamp) Zartan for release later this year. Thats the only logical reason I can think of. Thats actually what a lot of members at HissTank do to. Other than that we usually post sightings in the dedicated forum, and its helped me a lot(also at the tfw2005.com sister site). No prob man, glad you found it helpful.
  15. Oh please. You're just mad that something that might be better than your beloved 1/48 is coming out. The 1/48 had more design mistakes, look at them skinny arms in battroid mode, that huge chest, a seam down the middle of the 1S head, arms hanging low in fighter mode, a long nose in battroid mode, and chicken hands, plus swappable hands not available til later on. The 1/60 has none of those faults.
  16. New items confirmed in walmart computers!
  17. Is it more durable than the 1/48? Its great to hear the battroid mode is better than the 1/60, that actually surprises me, as battroid mode on the old 1/60 was better than the 1/48. Same here, the only VF-1 toy to really nail that quality before was the Takatoku 1/55 VF-1. Sure the 1/60 and 1/48 looked better in certain modes, but they weren't balanced in each one like the 1/55. Looks like the new 1/60 finally managed to do what those two could not. I've never thought it was too stubby to be honest, its just that most 1/48 fans are used to its unique nose. It looks better on the 1/48, but its no deal breaker for me, the nose may look better but altogether the new 1/60 looks better than the 1/48.
  18. I think we will see VF-25 and 27 in DX form. I think DX will be the meat, 1/100 will be the potatoes. I just hope the 1/100 line comes with launch stands that double as display stands for battroid/gerwalk. I'd love to have a 1/100 display going with Alto taking on Klan Klan's Q-Lea. I hope the 1/100 line has minimal parts swapping(if any...hopefully just the landing gears). I also think Bandai's 1/100 line will blow away Toynami's, and that they might be making a VF-1 too(anyone remember that poll a while back where Bandai asked which license fans wanted for HCMpro, and Macross was one of the ones that people voted for, alongside Lgaim and other animes?). I'd love to see some DX Q-Leas.
  19. Too much in either direction isn't good. However its good we have people that are willing to complain about valid problems, as opposed to dickriding Yamato which was a constant not too many years ago on these boards. Some of you guys may have not been around long enough to know this, but yes it was very real, and present daily on these boards. It was ridiculous, not even borderline ridiculous.
  20. Agreed completely! They are bought up fast in my area.
  21. It looks grey to me. Surprisingly the yen price is now 8190. Thats what I am hoping for, the shoulder stickers had too much of a border, and sucked, the edges on mine are all messed up. Is it just me, or are Focker's yellow trim paint applications more vibrant this time around as opposed to dull like the original reissue? The Takatokus. It might not be accurate or canon(never seen red stripes in Kawamori's sketches), but honestly this is a change I have always liked, otherwise, the tailfins would look bland as plain white with just the designation number near the rudders. I was willing to pay $80 earlier this year, and the japanese price is about the same, so its a buy for me. Not to mention, this toy is built to last, so in my eyes, $80 for something that most likely won't need repairs is worth it.
  22. This is going to sound stupid, but what exactly are these side covers people are talking about?
  23. Same here man. It sucks trying to find these things. I absolutely hate going out empty handed when looking for joes. Ah well, at least the comic packs are likely to hit saturation quickly.
