John Rambo. Coming in 2008!
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
First Blood is my favorite too, the story was at its best in that one. It was good enough where it didn't need sequels. None of the sequels were bad by all means, but they lack the emotional impact that the 1st one had. I rank them like this:1,4,3,2. 2 and 3 were sequels that weren't too surprising, given the basic premise of the political climate at the time, and the war he had just returned from, it made sense for Rambo to return to Vietnam. The 3rd one was to be expected as well, since Afghanistan was the hotspot, and it was during the Cold War. I have heard that there might be a few more Rambo movies down the pipeline. So long as Stallone has control over what goes down, they should turn out well. -

I have a feeling there is one main corporation running Galaxy's technological advancements, and that for more leverage, is also sided with NUNS. I think its the rival of L.A.I. Alto taking on Brera was a good, albeit short fight. Alto being able to take him on without flinching and getting mauled in the process was impressive. Our kabuki warrior is growing quite adept to plunging into battle and surviving. One of my favorite parts in this episode was Alto calling Michel out. Its about time that prick got called out. Too bad Michel bruised up Alto more than Alto bruised him up. Michel, that arrogant bastard had it coming. It was hilarious seeing the flashpack frame when Klan tells Alto that she and Michel were childhood friends. Also, looks like Bobby will have trouble deciding which pilot from Skull team will be his hime.

Yamato GN-U Non-transforming Macross Action Figures
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Graham's topic in Toys
As it should be though, for $200+ give or take, absolutely nothing should be broken. Call me crazy, but I'd actually like to see perfect variable versions of the GNU, even if the fighter modes end up looking cartoony in the process. I'm not talking way more expensive, just curious to see what the end result would be. I'm not expecting it to happen. The VF-2SS would be spectacular for this line. I wish Yamato could have nailed the 1/60 PV YF-19's battroid mode, the way the GNU figure does. Just goes to show the difficulties of balance in each modes and the compromises needed for perfect transformation. I may pick up a GNU figure but I won't be collecting a lot of them. -

Yamato 1/200 Scale Macross Collection Figures

Whoa...a Black Knights VF-1J, now THAT I'D LOVE to see as a low viz 1/60! -
Same format, swing wings, ventral fins, 2 vertical stabilizers, no horizontal stabilizers, also similar color scheme(Focker 1S/DYRL Hikaru 1A), though, this may actually be an homage to the takatoku 1/55 VF-1S Focker type, as in DYRL and the TV animation, his valkyrie was always white, only on the Imai boxes and the Takatoku 1/55 did we ever see Focker's valkyrie in grey. It also looks more like a VF-1 than the VF-11 does, and the 11 was also influenced by the VF-1. The 25 also has a more pointed nose, which is closer to the VF-1 than the VF-0.

25th Anniversary GI Joe
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Thanks a lot, both of you, and actually Godzilla, what I wanted was a previous anniversary Storm Shadow with the comic pack wave 4 Storm Shadow's harness on, which Southpaw_Samurai posted, but I appreciate the effort nonetheless, its good to see how the v1 compares to the new comic pack version. Your picture proves that the wave 4 comic pack version definitely needs a shirt. It just doesn't look right having pants, a mask, and harness but no shirt underneath. The arms on my Tiger Force Flint took a while to budge and finally bend at the elbow. -

I always thought Guld jettisoned the limbs from the 21 to decrease drag/weight. That Ghost was pretty damn finnicky. Everything-but-the-robot-parts-mode or: The-anime-accurate-appearance-when-Guld-goes-badass-turns off the limiter-and-kamikaze's-the-god-damn-Ghost-Drone-prior-to-showing-him-dead-mode. Yep, the latter sounds good. I want some vinyl early ghost drones for this thing to blow up, like in the first 2 episodes of the OVA, when Guld tests it out in combat and smiles in the process. -

25th Anniversary GI Joe
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I've only seen Cobra Commander, the Viper, and Flint, and I bought Flint(I like Tiger Force, and despite having v1 Flint, this one is unique enough to stand apart). If you guys open your figures and want a Flint, I would say skip V1, and wait for the upcoming one with Cobra parts(which we suspect is Tiger Force Flint in V1 colors with attachments), or get the Tiger Force version. I thought it was just a Flint with Shipwreck's arms, but theres actually more to it. Unlike Shipwreck, the right hand is open, not clenced in a fist, and can weapons. The sleeves have an added piece to resemble a folded sleeve. The left wrist has a watch molded on. Shipwreck had none of those. Tiger Force Flint as a figure, is much better than V1 Flint. After hitting up several stores this weekend I am not going to steadily look for the newest joes. The thrill of the hunt compells me, but man is it irritating walking out empty handed. If anyone gets wave 4 comic pack Storm Shadow soon, and has a previous anniversary Storm Shadow, can you post pics of a previous anniversary Storm Shadow like the V1, with the harness on? I want to see what it looks like. -

12" Snake Eyes Arghh! HissTank and TFW are still down! -
Given that the Galaxy has a lot of corporations on it testing new technology, it's possible that the VF-27 has a lot of technology unknown to Frontier. It could be that Brera is observing Alto to see how the VF-25 is in combat, compared to the 27. Both models are similar, perhaps both are based on the YF-24, but made by different, rival companies, trying to gain the advantage over the other. Uh oh Macross Plus homage! I forsee Brera being Ranka's long lost brother, angry at Alto because he is now Ranka's protector, Alto mad at him for not protecting Ranka all those years, and a battle where Brera sacrifices himself ala Guld with an eye busting and VF-27 damaged beyond repair. Come to think of it, the 27 has similar features to the 21, like the wing shape.

Swoosh you have made the YF-19 look fu*cking awesome in gerwalk mode, and it never looks good in gerwalk mode! Great pics guys. I'd like to buy both the 19 and 21, but the fact that I would be paying nearly $400 for both makes me hesitant. I'll just keep staring at the pics though. -
Bandai 1/55 VF-1A Hikaru and VF-1A Max, with fast packs
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to CF18's topic in Toys
Man I hope so, I like Hikaru's super valk in DYRL for some reason. What I am thinking is that we will see a Strike Hikaru, and seperate Strike parts set. Since the right booster has the ability to swap the booby duck and strike cannon, I think the Strike kit will contain both parts, and stickers for both TV and DYRL. -
Yep, it has. What we are seeing is a progression, they are showing us the various stages of development.
-
Probably, but the wait isn't that long. From what I understand, Code Geass is on season 2 and only now getting action figures from Bandai. For all we know the 1/100 Macross F line might be out in summer before season's end. Not to mention, it took Yamato a couple of years after Macross Zero was over to give us the first toys from that OVA, so the DX in november is not a long wait.

25th Anniversary GI Joe
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yes but its still hindered. I don't even know how you managed to keep the goggles on yours on, sure it can be glued, but it really shouldn't have to be. Thats the best bet. The helmet is too thin in my eyes, and thats what I think leads to warpage. -
Whoa thats fairly fast! What he should be asking is when hasn't Bandai made transformable toys?

Bandai 1/55 VF-1A Hikaru and VF-1A Max, with fast packs
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to CF18's topic in Toys
Because there wasn't a new TV series on to capture a wider audience, just a 5 episode OVA which took forever to finish. There didn't need to be, its a reissue of a classic toy. All their new efforts are going towards the Macross F line. People complain about the VF-1 being overdone and other valks not getting a chance as a toy. Do you honestly want a new VF-1 over new Macross F toys? You could have both, but whats the point of a new VF-1, when Yamato is already making one? A lot of people are "Vf-1'd" out. This is like asking why doesn't Takara make improvements to their G1 Optimus Prime issue while a Classics/Henkei version is coming out. Hey man, rare and exotic. Besides you know Bandai wants to use the Strike tooling more than once if they can. Then you are in the wrong thread. We care about getting classic toys. You care about making a profit off of a classic toy. -
Hey I watched the old indy movies as a child but barely remember them. Is KOTCS a movie that I would be able to enjoy without really remembering the old ones?

Which is lacking compared to other figures. It can barely bend backwards. Don't get me wrong, I like the figure, and was looking forward to it, but it could have been a lot better. Noticed that too, all the stripes on the ones I have seen are painted sloppily. Welcome aboard!
