  1. Definitely, because by end of AEII, he has reconciled with Snake Eyes and become the Phoenix Master of the Arashikage Clan...in addition to having leadership of it passed onto him from Snake Eyes. He was fighting Cobra in this series too. BTW... Wave 5 Comic Packs
  2. Are the shoulders loose on yours? I've read reports of this Prime showing up with loose shoulders...and its impossible to tell if it will happen unless you take it out of the box.
  3. Its most likely between the time span of DDP's issue 21, and America's Elite. DDP's 21 ended with him choosing to stay with Cobra...or what seemed like it, as he stopped Snake Eyes from killing Cobra Commander. Master and Apprentice II happened soon afterwards, where he finally got out of Cobra. Its definitely in the DDP run though, as the costume is, and it makes more sense continuity wise.
  4. I don't think the internal heatshield will be too hard for Yamato to figure out. Also I don't expect this to cost as much as the 19/21, because its much smaller. This is one I may pick up, the 11 is one of my favorite designs, and its important in Plus.
  5. I do like automorph, and while I do like Animated Starscream a great deal, I see where you are coming from. Aside that figure, I like automorph that is focused on certain parts as opposed to nearly the whole figure or transforming nearly the entire figure. Movie Ironhide, Movie Starscream and Animated Lugnut all have great automorph features. I like an automorph that isn't minimal but at the same time does not transform the entire toy for you. Movie Ratchet had one of the worst automorph gimmicks, because the parts in question barely morphed.
  6. Its in the DDP run. Slice and Dice did join Cobra long after Storm Shadow left, but before the marvel run was over, Storm Shadow, Baroness, Billy, Destro, and Zartan were brainwashed into joining Cobra again. When he the DDP run started and Storm Shadow returned(which ties into the Marvel run), he appeared in that costume, designed by Mike Zeck, but better looking. During this time the brainwashing finally wore off, albeit very, very slowly. Now he is on the joe team and the last issue of the DDP run is set for this month.
  7. Masterpiece Thundercracker is in the G1 toy colors! Hell yea, that was one awesome color scheme. Now I hope this bad boy comes with stripe stickers.
  8. Did Bandai let you handle the DX 1/60 too?
  9. Thats almost always been the case since they first emerged on the scene. One can say the 1/72 YF-19 was ugly as sin, but when compared to the Bandai DX Fire Valkyrie..which was one of the only other VF-19 designs out there, the Yamato looked like a god send at the time. A beautiful sculpt is only one important aspect of a toy though, a modern toy that is aimed at collectors. Durability and being able to handle/transform/play with a toy makes it different than a model kit. For example the new 1/60 looks great. Its said to hold together tighter in fighter mode than the 1/48. Thats a big improvement...as the 1/48 in fighter mode was plenty tight to begin with. Now the big appeal to the new 1/60 is perfect transformation. Perfect transformation, is transformation without necessary parts removal. For example the 1/55 didn't need to have the heat shield swapped out to transform, it was merely an option. Perfect transformation usually seperates model kits from toys. Collectors that want a perfect transformation toy want something they can transform without needing to keep track of a ton of parts that may inevitably get lost. Model kit builders are used to swap transformation since they usually keep the model on display, casually handle them, and don't subject their kits to much playing, as a model kit is primarily for display. Durability is important, and its been shown that durability does not need to be compromised for more accuracy and detail. Its especially important with perfect transforming toys, as the toy itself and its internal mechanisms have to stand up to the transformations. Even if you casually handle your toys, you don't want one breaking on you unintentionally. Would you honestly tell yourself, "oh, well..maybe I should have just left it on display, yea like a model-ki-....oh...but wait it isn't a mo-....but wait then wtf is it really then?". Yes its obvious collectors toys tend to be more fragile to the touch than toys aimed at kids, yet more durability is not a bad thing. Why were people gaping mouths open at SOC Baikanfu, Gunbuster and others? Its due to the durability. If the new 1/60 ends being more durable than the 1/55 my head will explode.
  10. No they didn't. No, there are several locking joints on several other toys from several other toylines from several different companies that do not wear down. They can, they might not bother because the market is saturated with VF-1s because of yamato. Takatoku Yes but theres that line that is crossed, whether you are buying something that should stand the test of time, or is so damn fragile that its no different than a SHE kit. Regardless of how great something is, if it was just meant to look good and never be transformed, or barely transformed, we would all be better of with parts forming transformable toys that are only displayed and rarely handled. Then there is the question, are we really buying toys, or movable statues? Perfect transformation is worthless without durability. Durability is an aspect of quality. At the fact that there own toys which costs up to 4x more if not higher have a higher breakage rate? Really by what some of you say, most of you should be content with the IHP VF-1 kitbashes of the 1/72 Hasegawa kits. Most accurate variable VF-1 out there and not meant to be played with as a toy.
  11. Thats what I think too. Damn...decisions decisions...Hikaru's Strike, or Focker's...Fock it!
  12. I like how it looks a bit thicker than the animation model...balanced. The only thing I don't like is the gap for the hinge under the nose, you can see that its curved and breaks the sculpt. Other than that I like what I see, and love the price.
  13. I got mixed results when I tried this looking for joes. Depending on who you talk to, some will say they cannot go back there since they are not allowed, and some will say that as long as product is on the shelf, they cannot go back to put more out. I wish she had wrist articulation, and hand articulation. Great figure though. Thanks man, sounds great, I'll do this if I end up picking up Prowl(most likely the Samurai sidecar version). How does he compare to the deluxe Primes?
  14. Start with a 1/55, durable, still good amongst transforming jet toys of today, looks great, sleek, high quality, and a classic. What it has over most reissues of classic gokin, transformers or any other vintage robots is articulation; the only thing really missing is a ball jointed leg system or a way for universal hip rotation. Start from there, it can only get better detail/aesthetic/appearance/accuracy-wise from there.
  15. What does it do? Finally found some of the TF:Animated toys last night at the local stores. Picked up Deluxe Prowl, Ratchet, Black Arachnia, Did you buy the voyagers, and if you did, how does voyager Prime compare with his deluxe counterparts?
  16. Wasn't accurate. It hinted that the new "common" scale was 1/72. It also said a VF-4 would be out. Neither happened. The common scale was 1/60. There was more but it was all false.
  17. None of us have been able to figure that out either. The sword in the mouth is not very secure since the sword is heavy. He is a leader class figure. The only Supremes are Roll out and Command Optimus(who got shafted in arm articulation, what a damn waste, yea its geared towards kids but such simple, yet important articulation is missing), and Omega Supreme. I think he is a voyager.
  18. Her articulation and styling work well, I had her in a meditating position yesterday. Now I had her standing with her arms crossed, standing with the rest of the decepticons. The only bad thing about Ratchet is that he has nowhere to store his tools in vehicle mode, and they fit loosely in robot mode. Other than that great figure, and I was looking forward to it for a long time because he is my favorite character on the show. I did not know his elbows activated his magnet gimmick until a few days ago. Pretty neat.
  19. Why the hell are there no galleries of the 11? Is it that unpopular in Japan? Maybe its just me, but I've always thought the VF-11 was dead sexy. Look at that anime accurate paint job Yamato gave it too, thats awesome.
  20. To be honest, no. Give us the durability/quality/quick transformation of Bandai with the detail/accuracy of sculpt of Yamato and then we will have the definitive VF-1 toy.
  21. Its because the cartoon network team working on is is comprised of huge G1 fans, including Derrick Wyatt, the character designer, who also has a huge transformers collection. Definitely. It surprises me how the figures can even mimic the posture of their onscreen counterparts, such as Prime and Starscream. Same here man. The first walmart I went to had a ton of stuff on the shelves, except for the 2 pack, Lugnut, Grimlock and Cybertron Megatron. A ton of deluxes but not many Lockdowns, Primes or Bumblebees. A week later and all that is left are Black Arachnia and Ratchet. Lockdown was easier to find than Prime and Bee, but now he is nowhere to be found in that walmart. I'm basically set until the Activators and Leaders hit. I found out Black Arachnia has thigh swivels, which increases her poseability even more! Her heels still make it a bitc*h for it to stand though. I just saw Black Friday and she acts like a conniving slurm. That episode gives reason to have not only her, but all the dinobot figures. "Grimlock love spider lady!". "Grimlock go alone!". I also saw "Sari, no one's home", and I want the Constructicons even more. So full of character, even if they don't combine(not sure if they will).
  22. Thats because they had to get the designs of the toys started 1 year ahead, to get them out in time for the movie. At the time, the CGI models weren't even finished yet. By the time the toy designs were locked in for production and no further changes could be made because it would delay everything, the movie designs were still being tweaked. Prime's CGI design wasn't even completely finished until right before the movie.
