Star Wars toys
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I want the Falcon and AT-TE but currently don't have space. Eventually I hope to get them, just not anytime soon. I won't be picking up too many figures just yet for Clone Wars, the Anakin in wave 1 does not have knee joints, and it looks like the upcoming Monastery battle pack with STAPs and battle androids has a a retooled Anakin with cloth tunic, and ball jointed knees and ankles. At least I hope there are ball jointed knees, the picture I saw looked like it. I will be picking up a few Legacy figures though, like Darth Vader and Clone armor Kenobi and Saesee Tin. -
A couple of months back, there was a podcast and some of the people working for Tamashii in the states were hinting at huge announcements for Tamashii at SDCC. Currently, all that has been shown is whats in their booth, and SDCC always has panels, with the booths updated soon afterwards. I haven't heard much news from Tamashii from SDCC, so I think their huge announcements are for tomorrow or sunday. Also the Macross F site has a new update and mentions 7/27, so I think we will see something quite soon.

That, and thigh swivels, universal hip joints, as well as clip on missles, and I could call it a day. As is the 1/55 remains awesome, so even without, I will still buy some. I am very excited to see where all of this goes. Now I wonder if anyone here is attending the Toynami panel at SDCC. I know the Robotech panel already happened yesterday, and I was sifting through news on the chunkies but found nothing.

Is this recent? There is animosity between the 2, and if that has cooled off, that is nothing but great news for all of us. To finally see a Yamato valkyrie stateside for under $100....thats something most didn't think was even possible. A couple of years ago it was mentioned that if the 1/48 was released stateside, and if the licensing crap was done with, it could be released for under $100. Now inflation has driven prices up, but if Yamato and Toynami have come to agreeable terms, the new 1/60 Strike set could be significantly cheaper than the imported one, and the regular 1/60 would definitely be under $100, in actuality it would be rather close to the price of the old 1/60. This is a win/win situation for both customers and retailers alike. God I hope this happens. Kevin, has Toynami told you when the Robotech versions of the 1/55 will be out? I'm eager to see the new 1A head on a TV Max type. Also did they mention if the prices will be the same as the Origin of Valkyrie releases($80), or actually cheaper?

Can you inspect the shoulders and their range of movement for the hinges and please tell me ways to avoid breaking them in the long run? If I see this thing on sight at a con, the temptation is too great to buy it, I want to buy the thing! I don't have a Strike valk, so this might be my first.

Poll: Is your v.2 1/60 VF-1S broken or perfect?
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 replied to miriya's topic in Toys
So, would it be a good idea to hold the hinge still while moving the arm into position for poses in robot or gerwalk mode? How about transformation mode, it is best to gently lift the shoulder/arm hinge above any grooves to swivel into place? -
No prob man, Chunky FTGDMF'NW Oh yea, it says "coming soon" next to the new heads. I hope soon means...close to ..NOW as opposed to next year. I WANT THE XMAS I NEVER HAD!!!!! Hey one time xstoys showed us head sculpts that were supposed to be used during the last time Bandai reissued the valkyries, but weren't used. I wonder if these are the same...

Bam! The new heads for the Robotech versions. I have a feeling we will see this at earliest, by the end of the year. I wonder if Bandai will use those in Japan too. This is what I think will happen. Now-December 2008 VF-1J VF-1S DYRL VF-1A Super Max DYRL VF-1A Super Hikaru DYRL VF-1S Strike Focker DYRL VF-1S Strike Hikaru January 2009-onward Robotech versions, with the new heads(maybe the heads are US exclusive, or used on both releases, just Macross packaging for Japan, Robotech packaging for US) VF-1S Fokker VF-1J Rick VF-1A Ben VF-1A Max VF-1D VF-1J Max VF-1J Miriya VF-1A CF Spring 2009, if not earlier(Macross DYRL packaging for US and Japan ELINT seeker Super O Now Toynami might be having a panel, and usually at SDCC, at the panel or soon afterwards, all the new yum yums are revealed, so there is a chance we could see more. I think Toynami will announce the license to bring over Macross Frontier toys via Tamashii here in the states.

Did you get any more news squeezed out of Toynami about these? -

Progress...I think the new heads are for the ones for the Robotech line....so you can still keep them seperate, besides its something neat to add to an already classic toy, and the head was definitely one of the things that did not age well. -

I think the new heads are for when the 1/55's are for the Robotech versions...the TV ones, next year. I think for now Toynami will start with bringing over the valkyries that Bandai already has planned, and release the new TV versions afterwards. Damn now I have one new reason to get a 1/55 Focker type. -

Fu*CK YEA!!!!!! MY CHILDHOOD WILL BE RECREATED! -
I actually never knew that, thanks for the heads up. Flexible as in PVC? I don't know why of all materials, Yamato would use a flexible plastic for that area. I wish they would have used something with more durability and given the pin enough room to move without being prone to snapping the hinge.

25th Anniversary GI Joe

The Skyhawk has a friggin' "glass" canopy!!! FINALLY!!! The Snake Eyes comic pack kicks ass..look at all that new ninja gear...and the FANG vehicle pack.....WIN -
After staring at the picture of the broken pin, it seems to me the main problem is that the bottom part of the pin looks deformed compared to the other side...which is smooth. It could be that this is an isolated situation and its all a matter of using smooth pins as opposed to a deformed one.

Something I've always dreamed about. -
Graham said that you have to pull out the leg fins a bit before folding, otherwise they can break. Have you noticed any stress marks on the shoulder pin area?
-
Can you elaborate? First, how is the new shoulder articulation different than the 1/48? I noticed how the shoulders do look different but I have yet to handle the toy, so I don't know the exact differences. Secondly, how do you prevent breaking the arm? Is the ball joint stem itself the flimsy part, or the whole connection with the metal pin inserted, as shown 2 pages back?
