  1. Any pics of the VF-25 next to the original Valkyrie in the same scale?
  2. This thread makes me angry. Models are made to be built, and proudly displayed. Just imagine if you were a model, knowing you could be assembled, lovingly painted and put on show to the world through photography and display. Then some meanie goes and keeps you in the dark all these years... For the record, I only buy models I know I will build. I have a backlog of a dozen.
  3. Can someone please post a pic of the new assembled model in fighter mode next to a Hasegawa VF-1? Thankyou.
  4. Amazing! I think not painting the model is kinda cheating.
  5. I find the amount of times the word 'Gundam' has been mentioned in this Macross thread disturbing.
  6. Wow, just look at this thread. Just from seeing the interest in this thread, and seeing how HLJ sold out so quickly, it looks like the state of Macross modelling is very, very good for for future. I see more investment from Bandai from the response to the first Alto VF-25, and I hope to see more varied products coming out too. It looks like there is a huge fanbase out there, and hopefully this VF-25 signals a renaissance in Macross modeling. I need to see more build-ups though! Fun times ahead!
  7. Stickers are for toys, and decals are for models. Stickers usually are much thicker and hold up to handling, whereas decals are much, much thinner, easily broken, but can be made to look like part of the paintwork, in scale, and require a bit of patience in applying.
  8. Well those scans just blew me away. Good job on replacing all the undercarriage. With a bit of work these kits are a thing of beauty. Looking forwards to seeing what non-canon design I can come up with...
  9. She's a beauty! Nice subtle weathering, and detailed to hell and back! See, isn't it fun to get back into some modeling? Beats changing diapers, eh?
  10. No, it's just a VF-0D with the VF-0 single seat front fuselage. The 'third' fin you see is actually one of the two fins at the back, and the one visually in front of it here is the fin from the wingtip end.
  11. That would be fair enough, except for: I preordered bascially as soon as it was up. And now I'm on pre-order? There's something wrong here.
  12. I ordered from HLJ as soon as they listed, and now I'm on backorder. What the hell's going on?
  13. Just recombining existing molding... I wish they would pull their finger out and create something totally new, like a VF-11.
  14. I don't think any have been offered. They're on my 'to do' list - unless someone else does some first - but this side of Christmas is unlikely...
  15. Some awesome work all around from everyone. That bird in particular looks fantastic WMCheng, but the canopy... I would be feeling pretty sore about that right now, as I imagine you are. I hope you can get a replacement for it without too much drama. I got a canopy replacement for my VF-0D from HLJ in about 3 weeks, and it only took me another 6 months to actually put it on! Hopefully I can contribute to this thread more meaningfully this weekend. Got a GradiusIII a week ago and have been chipping away at it.
  16. I'm always surprised at the 'depth' of posts available on this site. It's like taking a look back into history. This site is an amazing resource for Macross fans, and I often click the sponsor banners just for the heck of it. Good to see Moscato goodness continuing with the change of venue.
  17. I guess it's a testament to John's skills that his version actually looks like the illustration on the old kit instructions Acroray posted. When you look at their styrene version, it's laughable in comparison. Well done again. I have one final thing to say: Commanchero.
  18. I used to work professionally building model cars. We would use two-part paint for the top coat to get the kind of hard-wearing gloss you're talking about. I guess this sounds like it. The only down-side is if you breathe in the stuff it will kill you. SAFETY FIRST!
  19. A bit better than I expected. There are plenty of elements on it that scream 'toy' - the massive seams, the bulky undercarriage, etc, but I think this has the potential, with a bit of effort, to make a great display model!
  20. Im impressed that the head fits into the helmet and you didn't just make a seperate helmet/head. Not into figures, but the craftsmanship on this is superb!
  21. I've got one in the works. It's a bit bigger than yours though...! Anway, an epic journey for you, and thanks for posting up all the pics. Nicely done.
  22. Great, more 'transformation' crap I have to fix up on mine. I really wish they'd just done two models, fighter mode and battroid mode, and leave the transformation to the toys.... Dead horse, I know!
  23. That looks great! In my opinion any Zentraedi should be weathered to hell and back, consistent with the story. Nice work.
  24. You'd think Bandai would have cottoned on to that as well by now.
  25. Very interested in seeing that one! What scale was that again? 1/48? I've never seen the real thing.
