Fascinating read, thanks for posting that. Wouldn't it be nice to see what a VF-24 looked like....

Sorry cool8or, I never saw this post for some reason, until now! If these go well, I will certainly do Destroid Pilots later on this year. The thing with Destroids is that when you put a pilot next to them, or on them, suddenly it gives it a better sense of scale.

Wow these are awesome. I started putting together some new decals for Macross, but I've never run into these, they are very inspiring! And they look dated - in a good way too.

I would love Mylene's Valk in 1:72... I had this one and lost it somewhere in the depths of time, but it was just too small. And I always loved the artwork on the VF-11C packaging. Always makes me think 'come on Hasegawa, where's out 1:72 version!!!'

You DO NOT have to register, just hit the 'buy' button. And Ranger565, be sure to PM me your order name, since you were so helpful you get a nice surprise in your order...

You might want to check this out: 1:72 Macross Pilots. There's even a pic of one in the Commanchero.

Ready, set, go! This project is finished, and ready to buy, if you're interested. Head on over to Studio Starforge for details on ordering. Each set contains 6 figures + a custom decal sheet as shown in the above links. They are pressure cast in high-quality resin while the standing pilots have some flash, the only clean up on the seated pilots will be running the base across some sandpaper. They are designed for use with various Macross garage kits, and Hasegawa's Valkyries. Price US $10.00 + shipping and handling (detailed on the site) Payment, via credit card or Paypal, just follow the links on the site. Other payment types can be arranged. Thanks for everyone's support in this project, and on this thread!

Thanks for everyone who expressed interest in my clear canopy (in this thread here). If you'd like one, feel free to order here: http://www.studiostarforge.com/node/36 At USD$3.00 each, unfortunately the biggest part of your purchase, if you're just wanting a canopy, will be the postage and packaging. But as you can see with mine, it makes a huge difference to the final kit presentation. This will be available for a pretty limited time, so if you'd like one, I suggest you order soon, as I'll be taking the link down in a couple of days. Everyone who PM'd me will get a notification. Thanks for looking! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ EDIT: For a very limited time, these canopies are ready to purchase.

You might get an indication here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Macross-Robotech-Resin...%3A1%7C294%3A50 Worst pic though!

Thanks for all the kind words. I was on the phone most of the weekend, it felt like... To Macross Frontier fans (and believe me, I'm one) there will be news, sooner rather than later. In the meantime, here are some more pics with old - and new - friends! This is just to show the fitting in the Hasegawa Valkyrie, and the new Moscato Commanchero. Because of the way these are cast, they have a bit of a shim on the base, so they just can't go into the Hasegawa Valk for example, out of the box. The base of pilot just needs to be run over some sandpaper a bit before they sit in properly, but for that, you get no clean-up on the top - no flash, etc. All the detail is preserved, as it's a one-piece mold. The standing figure will be a two piece mold, but flash should be minimal, as you saw in my previous post. All I did was remove the sprue on top of the heads and bottom of the feet.

Received mine in the mail today. It looks very, very nice. I will be do an OOB review in the next couple of days.

Klam1020 that deserved its own thread. Really nice!

Well due to the tragedy engulfing the eastern seaboard of Australia, my weekend has not gone as planned, and I wont be ready for orders quite yet. Apologies for the delay, but I hope your thoughts are with the families in Victoria. As for me, my thoughts are with central coast of NSW. My family is okay, but we have people who have lost their homes. Anyway, enough with the doom and gloom, even though I can't take orders yet, I can give you some new pics. Should be ready to take orders next week - apologies for the delay, but its unavoidable.

I really knew little about GI Joe, except that they are toys I see in the kids section that look like the kind of thing I would have played with. But after seeing this trailer, I know I'll be in the ticket queue. It looks like a lot of fun! For the film makers, that's what they want. They know the fanbase will go and see it, even if they don't like what they see, it will be watched out of curiosity. Its the people outside the fanbase they want. And with me, they've succeeded. And I'm all for plenty of boobage!

Interesting project. That thing would be absolutely huge!

I've just completed the the standing male pilot (who I now think is the best sculpt of the bunch), and will be pouring the rubber moulds tomorrow, so casting can start on the weekend. So I'm very happy to say that I will be post ordering details, along with pics of the final products this weekend! Big update then...

Wow this looks fantastic!

Isn't that gundam? Not sure if you'll get much help from this forum. -
Your colour choices make the battroid look very intimidating!
-
Believe me, I'm quite unhappy about that! Anyway, thanks everyone for the kind words. I've actually added a couple of things, so on the weekend I'll take a couple of other pics as requested.

Completed Macross Re-fuelling Base Diorama/Playset
PetarB replied to skonchboy's topic in The Workshop!
Let me tell you, I'd have a blast playing with that. Looks awesome! Probably worth just posting it in you other thread though, it's the same thing, isn't it? -
Nice weathering! I think you can add weathering to your skill-set now, you've done a great job here. Well done! Can you tell us how you did the weathering, what techniques did you use?
-
I'll try and take a couple more pics tomorrow. Looking over these again, I just realised there were a couple of shots I'd like that I missed.
-
I hear you there Deadghost! A Lancer!? Anyway, cute concept, nicely done!

All done! I decided to keep the gloss finish. Usually I'd do a matt coat, but it just looked 'right'. Of course this means it doesn't photograph as nice, but since I build all models for display and personal enjoyment, it's not a big deal for me. And the blue looks quite a bit darker in these pics than it does in real life, although the finish changes the colour all the time. Still, I hope you enjoy these pics of my VF2SS 'Max Special'. Thanks for looking!
