  1. That looks absolutely fantastic! So many little details that you don't first see. Well done Ruben - you must be relieved too!
  2. I disagree: depends where you live. Anyway... I'm going to knock up some Macross figure studies in 1/48 scale over the weekend. When I have something to show, I'll start a thread!
  3. I don't know if the Rettpu one had a vac-formed canopy, but even if it didn't, I'm hoping we get one anyway. The one that came with the VF-4 that Valk009 here did was fine.
  4. Thank goodness I gave up toys a long time ago then... ...having said this, I hope they release a model of the AMP Suit, and also of the Gunships. I would LOVE one of each!
  5. Looking great! I love the very light grey and white on the VF-1. Nice subtle differentiation there.
  6. About a week ago. Looking forwards to finally putting it next to my other Macross 1:72 model collection. Just wondering whether it will be 'inflight' or undercarriage out.
  7. Welcome to hell. Seriously, it took me a couple of years to find someone who wanted to part with their VF-11 resin kit. You will only find one on the second hand market. Ocassionally they crop up on ebay, one went for about $300 which I passed on.
  8. My experience with this technology is that we are getting close. Having said this, 1/72 modelers have a while to wait; the stepping and resolution means a lot of work still needs to be done afterwards. In some cases, the detail means you might as well start from scratch for smaller pieces.
  9. Any pics would be great! As for looking like a bird... what's wrong with that, I love birds I'm always intrigued by the difference between the two brands though, I don't think I've seen a build-up of a Retppu one.
  10. Wow, that should be an interesting build. The Alclad finish should come up a beauty. I love the stuff. ...in other good news, I now have one of these in the mail!
  11. Not a fan of the Tornado pack. The twin guns on top look very goofy and un-military. One of the things I like about Macross mecha design is that it has always been a lot more 'grounded' in reality than many of it's peers. This seems to be stepping away from that. As I type this, I realise in a very vague way this reminds me of the 'Stampede' Valkyrie, which I never liked too much either.
  12. Not from Hasegawa. As it gets closer to release though, I will start a TV pilot and perhaps cockpit. And if it turns out well, I will make more to share!
  13. I don't mind it... but those hips? I wonder what they were thinking there, it just looks bad.
  14. What a great time to be a Macross modeler. I can hardly believe it!
  15.
  16. I've just received mine. I have to say, the quality is excellent. I would recommend them except for one small thing; the packing isn't so good. Mine arrived bent. While I can fix this... I shouldn't have to. I think just one piece of heavy card would have made sure this didn't happen. I only give this feedback so Jasmine can reconsider their packing routine. Other than that, excellent product!

Wow, that just looks awesome. And I also echo the Avatar comment!

    VF-2SS site

Wow, great site. Honoured to be a part of it, thanks Bobby! I love that aircraft carrier shot! Hopefully I can contribute some more by year's end.
  19. I always have a soft spot for Millia's valkyries. Nicely done!
  20. Ain't that the truth. It always annoyed me, whenever I saw their artwork in my Robotech RPG books, which was the only way I could get hold of the original Macross lineart back in the day.

    1/144 VF-171

Beautiful craftsmanship TSP. Looking forwards to seeing some primer on that bird!
  22. I prefer this much more than Alto's. Nicely done!
  23. I've never, ever been satisfied with trying to touch up pre-coated plastics like this. I think you're in trouble... Best of luck.
