I think many Scots are going to be dumbfounded by this comparison. Sean Connery???!???!!!!? Tom Hardy said he was inspired by an Irish Romany for the accemt - which I loved by the way. I would have said a continental European aristocrat who has spent most of his adult life in England. But a Scottish Brogue? I just don't hear it at all!

Gamu and Gurab will always be my favourites! Thanks for the pics.

He slices! He dices! I like what I'm seeing. It's the like the exact opposite of Metal Gear Solid: forget about stealth, just get in there and chop everything up!

Christian Bale's acting was very good in this one... possibly best of the trilogy, with TDK showcasing the least of his acting skills, but being my favourite movie in the trilogy.

Man of Steel - Superman movie has a director
PetarB replied to Mr March's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I thought the trailer was fantastic. Really doesn't feel like Snyder though... maybe Terrence Malick! I just wished they'd used slightly different music.- 442 replies

I thought Bane's obstructed voice was a strength. It made the character 'alien' and difficult to relate to, and you paid attention to him when he talked. Worked for me.

Just got back from it. It's not the best in the trilogy, but it was still an awesome movie. The last third is a little muddled - but the performances were awesome. I don't get the issues with Bane's accent. I thought it was perfectly fine. But then again, as an Australian I travelled to the US a couple of times, and have met many people there who were surprised that English was my first language.

I believe there was a lot of talk about it from a couple of US model brands... but as far a I know nothing has come of it.

That looks awesome. I need to start building styrene kits again.

Okay folks... who's going and can buy a kit for me? -
After this, Perlman was talking about doing Hellboy 3. I am really surprised about that, my understanding is that he dislike being under the makeup so much that he swore he would never do another Hellboy again. Personally I would love to see one, the first two movies are such a pleasure to watch.

Unless your master is perfecty polished - and I mean 'perfect' - you're going to have a hard time getting a proper clear cast, even with good clear cast resin. I think a vacform canopy is a good alternative.

Well, I will have to watch Ninja! Sounds good! As for Flying Swords of Dragon Gate it takes a bit of a left turn half way through and becomes a little different from the movie I though it would be. It's still fun though, but not a 'great' movie by any standards, to be honest.

Ron that VF-11 is beautiful. Thanks for the pic. Hopefully I get to tackle one of these in 2012. I can't wait to see the final of your VF-11 Roman. I want lots and LOT of pics! Your photography is fantastic, not to mention modeling. I've been working on my own 1/72 Macross project for the past few weekends. Everytime I go to grab the camera for a WIP shot, I think 'I should spend this time modeling' since time is at such a premium for me at the moment. Can't wait to show the finished item soon. Maybe this weekend.

It's the annual 'you can't have any of this cool stuff' thread. Thanks for the links though, awesome! -
It was extremely cool to see him in Ninja Assassin. His acting for the part was spot-on! His role as the leader of the ninja clan - and acting - were critical to the whole movie, really.

Didn't one actually have a beard or goatee in the last movie? I just rolled my eyes at that....
-
Just stopped by at this brilliant thread to have a gander again. I'm currently using these are reference for a physical modeling project I'm working on. Looking forwards to your VF-21 & 19... Oh and by the way, is the setup in the last piece from inspired by Half-Life 2? The architecture and general layout look very familiar of a set-piece where you confront a couple of tripod walkers.

7 degrees of Robocop: I just watched Paul Verhoeven's Flesh and Blood again last night, and realised my wife does pilates with the wife of one of the main actors in the movie. Next time I chat to him I must ask him what it was like to work with Verhoeven back in the day... I dearly wish he'd start making movies again. Black Book was superb, but so long ago.

Deus Ex movie - I never asked for this...
PetarB replied to Ghost Train's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Deus Ex is just begging to be made into a good movie. The mythos, game design, character design and arcs are all modern, plot-driven and dramatic. I need to finish the game one day soon though! -
Now we know why the Americans won't sell the F22 to Japan! Thanks for the video... There was a small chance I was going to be there, but it just didn't happen. The VF-11s looked fantastic!

The Amazing Spider-Man, on Blu-Ray/DVD Nov. 9, 2012

For a 'stealth' suit, it sure does glow a lot! -
I almost am, but let's see the rest of it first. Very hard to get a proper sense of it with a quarter of the 'head' and upper chest.

Banner looks great. I particularly like: - Gandalf having chat to Beorn (I thought they might skip that plotline entirely!) - Dwarves in barrels - although I do NOT remember this scene, from memory they were washed up on the bank and pulled out, they never all floated down the river with the 'lids off'. But it makes for a great scene!
