I hate this blind packed crap - a shitty way to do business. Are there any online store that sell a set after they open and check each box? They are easy to find in HK, but not online.
-
From what I can read the 1:48 special will have a limited number sold in advance at WF. No mention of being limited to WF only.
-
Revoltech using come with a bunch of accessary. It will be great if the Regult come with parts for all 4 versions.
-
From official Revoltech blog: http://bakaneko.way-nifty.com/revoltech/20.../post_6f5f.html We will probably see something formal in Tokyo Wonder Festival next week.

It will just depends on how succssful Macross F will be. Take Code Geass as an example: Bandai was probably not expecting much out of it, but the show turns out to be extremely popular and the DVDs sold very well. When season one was airing, on the mecha side Bandai only released one basic high-grade model and one rather sucky toy (example). Well looks like they learned their leason and with coming season 2 a stream of toys are coming out of them, start with low end In-action figs and just today announced a high-end Super-HCM-Pro class toy. For Macross F, Bandai may again wait-and-see and only release a few cheap stuff first. But if Bandai is already investing big bucks in Macross F anime then they will go all out the toys will be quite good.

Just to balance a bit the Bandai stuff are not always great. Gundam Fix are famous of having crooked V-fin, or fit so poor that they crack open (example).

1/60 perfect transforming vf-1 from yamato?

It looks like the back packs of the fast pack is a big single piece - kind of like the chunky monkey but the link part is better hidden. -

Look like the backpack lock is stronger than 1:48, but cannot be used in Gerwalk mode? -

Macross 25th Anniversary TV Special thread *READ THE 1ST POST*

And there are totally new structure that play homage to the original - the school actually looks like the original Macross's main cannon, and I didn't notice it until the second viewing. -
Just looking back at Yamato's release history - they do about 2 to 4 large new molds every year. Next year they will have YF-21, 1/60 VF-1 and probably VF-11, all new molds.
-
With the 1/60 VF-1 news, I believe Yamato is not going to make anything from Macross F, at least not in the near future. They just don't have the size to make any more high-end products.

Aren't you the admin here who can look up the logs? Well hopefully a better sub will come out later, with proper HD encode. The speed sub is rather random at some places. A rather standard openning of sci-fi mecha anime - boy meet girl(s), dream about flying, and by chance hop into a new mecha in combat against new enemy that looks uber strong and has some unknown motive. Well we will see how it goes from there. Great visual and direction. Will they be able to keep it up for a TV series budget? -

With a little price of narrower shoulder. Things I would like to see improved over 1/48: Back thruster hinge - it was the #1 potential breaking piece of the 1/48. Back thruster lock - it was too weak and you need to add another piece behind the neck to hold the fast packs in B mode. Middle seam lines on the legs - not fixed. The upper legs looks like a simple up-scale of the original. -
Do we really know it is only Bandai to blame for their lack of new products? May be Big-West wanted too much money, but more likely it is our good old problem of the world-wide Macross license. From what I heard you can't even get Revoltech VF-1 from the "official distro" in Hong Kong - every toy stroes imports from secondary channels in Japan. Bandai made some very nice Star Trek kits (example), but there were licensing screw up issues and they can't be sold in USA. I am sure Bandai lost tons of bucks over those kits for not being able to sell them in the main market for trek. Compare to Gundam, Macross is likely a bigger name outside Japan. Bandai would surely like to exploit that but not without resolving this stupid license issue first.

Yeah the mean reason Macross 7 toys were made that way was because 10 years ago toys maker were still releasing them for kids. Today there are lots of toys that primary cater to adults, for example SOC and Saint Seiya Myth Cloth series. At the end it may depends on which time slot Macross F will air - early morning = kid stuff, afterrnoon prime time = mainstream, mid-night = adult oriented.
-
If you only use 12 years old samples. Today Bandai's high end lines has very high quality and craftsmanship, such as the SOC and Soul-spec line, with the recent Soul-spec Dragonar 1 OP version as the best example. In the mid-range the HCP-Pro lines from the hobby department are also very well done for the price. The Gundam Fix and MIA lines however had many quality issues, largely due to the soft material they use. The MIA line is near death, and the Fix line may follow soon. I don't know about Yamato. Nice looking and my 1:48 VF-1S is great, but my YF-19 /w fast pack is a step down as far as build quality and design go.

Yeah that is the ARX-8 Laevatein.

Yeah, and that anime came from Bandai's own Sunrise. Well Eureka 7 was not that popular. Look at Code Geass, uber popular surpressing Gundam Seed, and we are just getting one HG model and some tiny palm action toys from their low-end shop. But then Bandai has some very good technology and designers at their high end. A Master Grade or Soul-spec VF-25 would match anything Yamato can offer.
-
I can't find any confirmation on what Bandai is doing with Macross F. And you can have multiple companies making toys for the same anime at the same time, see Eva and Votoms.
-
The only problem is when. If Yamato is making Macross F stuff then they need to start planning already. Depends on what else is in the pipeline VF-11 may get pushed back. They don't seems to have anything else in the pipeline though - one seat VF-1 is done, SV-51 is done. So what's left are VF-11, VF-0D and VF-1D/VT-1/VE-1. Well fat chance on the two seaters...

Come on at that scale non-transforming is better looking anyway. Have we seen any < 1:144 valks that is any good at transforming?
