That was more than a month ago, before they show anything about the tornado pack. -
Too bad it is Yamato shop exclusive.

Hmm... when will the world economy recover... Auction it off at the next MWCON, money goes to MW server and hosting cost?
-
Just buy the SV-51 alpha at HLJ for 40% off, if you really want one to paint over.

Another alternative: http://www.hwjapan.com/sh/YAM09110452.aspx Pre-order at 20% off, your choice of EMS or SAL, pay by Paypal or credit card when they are ready to ship. You can do a search this forum for feedback of hwjapan.

VF-27 DX at 16000yen, same as the fast pack included VF-25F/G DX. -
I also don't like the look - the fighter mode is really poor. And it don't seem to have any holes for adding fast packs or missiles. I just hope the resumption of this line will get us the Glaug after the excellent Reguld.

A few more shots at different angles from here. Cockpit cover looks like part swapping, same as the 1:60v1.

http://ga.sbcr.jp/mgangu/014063/ It seems Shoji Kawamori already order two copies.

Remember there were talks about Yamato considered making a smaller scale version? May be they got enough feed back from retailers like "Come on I can't stock something this big! Our customers have no room for this! Have you seen the rental cost in Tokyo? Do you know how much discount I had to give to get rid of those jumbo grade gundam?" and decided that it is too much risk to mass produce the full scale version. Or they found it to be too heavy and the mass produce material they use can't handle the weight. But they already have the prototype here and can be recasted to a resin kit and made base on direct order to reduce risk. May they are currently busy working with the CAD model to scale it down to 1:3000 or something.

What exactly is this "Shop Yahoo" thing help anyone? http://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/yamato-toys/guide.html We do not accept international orders, and do not deliver overseas.
-
May it is just a marketing trick. When they bring out a mass produced and less detailed version with ABS/POM for 80k yen, we will all think it is a great price. Save, please save us from all these speculations and google translation!
-
I wonder if the product is even painted.
-
And this new version will come with an unpainted pilot figure.
-
Also note the red tip missiles on the Hikaru unit. At least it don't seems to be Yamato web-shop limited.
-
Just saw this from the movie thread. Good for size comparison.

With Macross Frontier TV, movie and concerts putting Macross back into spotlight, and possible threat from Bandai making smaller dups in VF-100/hi-metal line, Yamato is smart to try bringing out as many product as possible.

What kind of material is used for those thin antenna parts on the back pack and arm packs?

If you are excited by the 5% off at HLJ, take a look at 20% off pre-order at HWJapan. http://www.hwjapan.com/sh/YAM09101554.aspx http://www.hwjapan.com/sh/YAM09101553.aspx http://www.hwjapan.com/sh/YAM09101552.aspx http://www.hwjapan.com/sh/YAM09101551.aspx You can search the forum for store feedback. I have ordered many model and some small toys from HWJapan before and they all worked out fine, but I don't have experience with pre-ordering large toy from them. Well I will know when my pre-order of 1:60 VF-1J M&M (only 10% off) arrives. We have until November 11 to decide if you want to order from them, but I don't know if they also do the "order-stop" thing like HLJ if they get tons of pre-orders. HWJapan don't charge pre-order until shipping. For item that large EMS cost will likely to be close to SAL.
