They will not list it until Yamato announce the price and list it at their web store. There is still a chance that HLJ may sell it with no proxy mark up, like they have with 95% of other Yamato's limited items before including some very expensive item e.g. the helmets and 1:2000 SDF-1. But this VF-4G may be a bit special since Yamato can't seem to decide on the price, and HLJ would at least want a 5-10% profit off it to make it worth while for them.

It has rear landing gears. I think the doors at A will open with a short landing gear inside, like the DXv1 VF-25 Armor pack. The panel at B opens and sits under the wings in fighter mode.

Well at least the armor will cover the advertisements / markings. If they make the CF I hope they use a color 2 step darker than the DX Macross Quarter. There is no simple logic with how Bandai decide what to make. 3 of the 4 Gundams from Gundam 00 movie never see any toys, but there are 5 limited Robot Damashii releases of the GN-X grunt units already.

That's basically it. After the economy meltdown and seeing all those VF-22 and Gundam Fix linger in the 50% off bin for like years, all high priced toys are high risk. Bandai is rather conservative in the last few years and prefer to just keep making Gundam, Saint Saiya, One Piece and Kamen Rider. Now about the Macross DX situation here is some thing that should make some scream: It was posted a week ago in HK forum. Apparently the VF-171EX is very well supplied in retail stores in Japan and most stores have them at full retail or standard discount. It's probably why Nippon-Yasan can keep selling them at 16000 yen - their staff can still get them from their neighbors at 2000+ yen less. Yahoo Japan Auction search of DX VF-171EX right now shows 40 units with buy it now price near full retail - it is no where near the eBay level scalping. So how come AmiAmi etc can't get more? Well Bandai probably just treat each store as the same despite bigger market reach by online stores. It is fair in a sense, instead of letting a few big stores getting 80% stocks, each individual store get 24 units. Bandai still don't want to piss off their traditional retail store partners, since it is probably still where most of their income comes from. -
This is a regular release so it can be another 30 second pre order rush. 17000 yen is the same price as the Alto release. I would be interested if I don't have a yf-29 already.

Did you rotate the lower leg full 90 degree first? The knee extent is locked when the lower leg is in fighter mode configuration.

The two white dot on red part in the back are not even scratched - they are sprue cut point and was probably cut after the part was painted. I think one part that may scratch is the front tip of the battroid head - you can see the scratch in this review: http://gamu-toys.inf...x23/dx2302.html Be careful with the pins that hold the wings - they may pop off and then hide in some invisible corner of your room. Also when going back from B to G/F mode, make sure the moving panel at the back of the chest armor moved to the original direction, as in page 11 step 8 drawing 1. Otherwise something very hard to see will be blocking the cockpit and you will be trying to push it very hard.

I found that when you re-intall the pin, align it close to the original orientation and the wing will snap to it's proper resting direction.

Lift the chest armor a bit and you can lower the cockpit and open it.

I guess I prefer the 25 at the moment. I need to disassemble the chest of my reissue YF-29 to fix the sliding head base, because it was completely dead stuck on one side.

It's "I'm a man" scene. And both still need the armor pack. I most say the box design of the DX renewal series is very nice - very consistent with the same mode on each side and look great no matter how you stack the box.

Got my VF-171EX and YF-29 together from AE today, and didn't get taxed because AE marked them as only worth 3200 yen. Issues: 1) Fitting of the left shoulder armor is a little off right out of the box. In fighter mode it would push the wing out for a bit and don't sit flush with the chest armor. 2) Swivel joint in the upper right leg is rather loose. It only affects the gerwalk mode but not really bad since it's range is hard limited and the unit is not heavy. 3) B mode stand is rather bad. Is it blocking the wings in yours?

Probably missed it because they are not shown in most reference line arts. A potential problem is they are so big that you can't use landing gear. Oh well there are always little thing that you may hope for that just don't happen, e.g. I was hoping for opening doors on the arm missile pack. May be someone will make some MDE with shapeways.

Did you notice AmiAmi has an extra 10x point offer on the main page? About the armor pack - extra wing is very nice and justify the slightly higher price vs VF-25 super packs. It looks like there are doors on the leg armor to allow the use of landing gear, but they sure like to hide it in the photos.

Super Pack VF-25 were having reaction missiles under the wings in episode 17.
