Quite true. This view make it looks like a VF-25 to me, because of the almost continuous wing-chest-wing black strip. May be they should have gone all the way with Macross The First design: -

17000 + 2720 yen - pre-order price + registered SAL. All the destination name and address are hand written, no doubt they screwed up when they are going through tons of orders. Second package say "Maquette" - french for scale model so it probably meant for some one in Quebec or France.

I ordered one, and then I received two separate boxes today. They have different tracking numbers, only one was emailed to me. Both have my name and address on them. I already e-mailed NY asking them what to do.

iShop2go seems to come back with a few Yamato VF-1 in stock at normal price. http://www.myshop2go.com/shop/products/yamato-macross---list_h---56------------------------------en.html I don't know if the new site/shop is reliable. It previously got a bad rep here for failed to deliver many Bandai VF-25 pre-orders.

Announced releases: June 29, 4725yen (4500 yen before tax) for DYRL Hikaru VF-1A/1S June 29, 2100 yen (2000 yen before tax) for fast/strike pack And we got new scans: Back back still looks small for fighter mode. Like: Gerwalk legs can really point forward.

Heh the VF-17S I just received from HKC last night do not have a Bigwest sticker, but the VF-17 fast pack that was shipped together has it. The VF-17S seems fine and transform OK with the usual Yamato quark. The VF-19S I got from HKC 2 weeks ago has the sticker.

The basic: Yamato the toy company was closed recently. Some of their products were taken over but a new company but the status of their Macross product is unknown, so the price of many Yamato made Macross toys had shot up significantly. Current best transforming toys: VF-1: Yamato 1:60 version 2, Yamato 1:48, Bandai 1:100 VF-hi-metal. Made sure you don't carelessly bought a Yamato 1:60 version 1 from eBay. VF-11: Yamato 1:60 VF-11. VF-11B can still be found at good price at hkcollectables.com and eBay. VF-19: Yamato 1:60 VF-19. VF-19S and VF-19Kai can still be found at good price at hkcollectables.com and eBay. VF-17: Yamato 1:60 VF-17. VF-17S can still be found at good price at hkcollectables.com and eBay. I would not recomment YF-21/VF-22 to new comers. The others are too expensive now. VF-25/YF29/VF-171: Bandai DX renewal series. They are well made but due to Bandai being run by fools they are hard to find at reasonable price. There are older version of Bandai DX VF-25 - they are OK but probably not worth the price most sellers are asking for. If you just want some non-transforming action figures, HLJ is still selling some GN-U Duo at give-away price. Model: If you have the skill to build military jet model, there are many VFs from Hasegawa. If you want a toy-like model that is easy to build, let's wait for Bandai 1:72 VF-1 that is coming out in June.

The launch arm stand had four versions. Original greenish gray, reissued a few times: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10139388 Black: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10048004 Silver: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10048005 Dark blue: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10114747 Main problem with this stand is very high center of gravity with no hinge at the top, so it cannot hold the unit safely at extreme angles. They also made a smaller "Mighty block" stand: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10088025 Main problem with this stand is the hinges are not strong enough without some simple modification, and it is not tall enough for most battroid mode VF. Original YF-21 and all Sv-51 came with a very good stand, but it is not compatible with the stand adaptors in other VFs. They only have the "display base" left. They are just little shelves, no arm.

The ebay one you linked is the old 1:60 version 1, and will not fit the current 1:60 version 2. LEGO. Seriously I would like to see Lego license expend to more than just major western movies and comics. And the Macross god himself use Lego for prototyping.
