The computer and electronics super geek superthread...
kensei replied to EXO's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
A lot of things don't work with Vista. Includes some programs, Avg Free, Nero, PowerDVD....just a few examples. I heard that there is a planned class action with NVidia soon, apparently they say that their products are Vista Ready, but obviously, they aren't with the drivers that they are currently releasing. -
Wrong, the issues of the collapsing feet and the loose elbows and shoulders have been addressed in most of them. The only thing that hasn't been addressed is the fragility of the shoulder piece due to it being relatively thin for it's work.

There are some in the customising section below this one.
-
The only reason why i think not is cause it was supposed to appeal to Macrossworlders. That's either Orguss or Mosepeda. Megazone 23 we already know about.

As long as you don't prolong light exposure (artificial or otherwise) keep it behind glass (even better with a tint film, but in the house will do) and avoid excessive heat (mine are nowhere near a heater) and moisture and maybe cigarette smoke, it should be fine for years to come. By then your eyesight would have deteriorated so much that you wouldn't notice anyway.
-
4 years in the houselight, everything's still a-ok.
-
Where? I've seen 1/48s close to a hundred before buying. Shouldn't be too much more. I remember the day a few years ago where it was NORMAL to be paying $130 USD before shipping!
-
True about the price. Add value if you are going to charge that price. Put a decent effort into and and prove that you have, and I'll pay a decent price.

Big time Yamato buyer (aka psuedoshareholder) here. I'll step up and say my bit, as I am certainly every bit as important as a mod in this issue. Now it's 10x as official (multiply by David's 2x and you get 20 ). I totally agree with the VF-0 and SV-51 over the price issues. The YF-19 is the only time, the only time that I will forgive them due to it's complexities. But it ends there. Although I love the YF-19 toy, there were a few issues like the gunpod and rear landing gear, that had silly reasons or overlooks as to why they made it that way or got through QC, unacceptable for the price. While it is not the guys in the boardroom or the designers that are at fault, they should bloody well get their arses down to the factory and tell the workers to shape up or ship out with their work quality. Yamato, we love your toys, but you must realise that it's a blood, sweat and tears that buy them. I know that there is a very small market out there, but consider lowering the price and make profit by selling high quantities of toys, rather than high premiums on toys. I now call Godzilla and Valk-1S, kicker and Sithlord to the stand.
-
If they design the VF-17 and the VF19's, they can use this design again. They were thoroughly used and abused in Macross 7.
-
They're all beautiful in my opinion. But if I had to choose the top five, it would be the VF-19, 17, 21, 9 and 11.
-
FAST Packs do that. I like the look. But I'm afraid I have another issue to bring up, the upward position of the shoulders dose not hold well on it's own, let alone with a weight dragging on it. I hope they resolve this issue in the next release.
-
Wood glue also works. Probably better, as acetone in nail polish slightly dissolves the plastic.
-
*gasp* Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
-
We did ask a lot of questions. I guess it's a long report. Plus, I guess that Graham wants to put a lot of detail in his writing, I've noticed that he's not a bad writer. I'm sure he would have had some questions that he missed out on after his last meeting (mid January) that he wanted answered too. this report might take awhile. That, and also the fact that he might be doing it from a hospital, where he is admitted for alcohol intoxication. Back ages ago around when Macross Zero just finished, from what I gathered of his report, they party pretty hard.
-
Is it me or does that look bootleggish?
-
Proof? Of course the past LV v1 won't be reissued, but you seem to be implying that it's the colourscheme.
-
I do agree though, that it makes things complete. And Scream Man is right. Who gives a rat's arse if there is a difference between TV and DYRL?. I've gotten past that. TV head would really look ugly IMO. Just give it TV hands, TV forearms and a TV pilot.
-
There is actually no such thing lah, it was just a fanmade thing that was really really really good and sounded like the real thing. Anyone here a bedroom DJ? I might buy some software in the future for this sort of thing.
-
Nah it's cool, it helps with the redundant questions, people ask the same thing over and over you see. I suggest copy and pasting it into word and then bulletpointing them before printing Graham. Damn forum software only lets you do that one at a time, and I just got home.
-
Whew. Hope Graham gets this before he goes. Don't forget to commend them on the current work of the SV-51. I love their interpretation. If it's QC free and tight, even better. [borat] Very nice. [/borat]

MacrossWorld Forums Yamato Questions Interviewer: Graham Parkes Date: Monday 5th February 2007. General Issues Can Yamato allow Graham to please give us more information about new releases earlier? How do you plan on overcoming the breakage issues that have occurred with the VF-0/YF-19 releases? Will POM be used more often as a result? Will Yamato supply parts for the international market in the case of breakage due to personal misadventure or production issues? Will Yamato ever use anything else but plastics for their products? Will they lower their future price points? Will Yamato consider a 'Quality Assured' sticker on the box? It should MEAN that the product underwent proper user testing for such issues as too-low tolerances for designed parts and materials, plus factory measures to ensure manufacturing processes are up to par (read: over tightened screws, glue spillage, misaligned printing, missing/wrong parts etc)? Is there anyway to improve first-release quality control? Why has there been lately so many quality issues? Can Yamato make the replacement VF-0 parts available at no cost to large e-retail people like Twin Moons? Will Yamato give VF-0s owners the garland treatment and just outright replace them? Will Yamato consider a contest where fans are allowed to vote or suggest a possible non Canon schemes for a future release? Can Yamato improve their box art? (Refer to Tenjin Hidetaka works) What licences do Yamato currently possess? Will Yamato still plan on producing Macross products far into the foreseeable future? Is Yamato able to improve the sticker quality for future releases? Will further toys come with more tampo markings? Is Mospeada the "other popular transforming mecha of the 80's? Why won't you let Graham tell us what the 80s robot show is? I think if we all knew ahead of time we could better prepare to afford the toys. What happens if a fan can't buy them on release (not enough money) and then has to wait a long time to save up before he can get the toy? And then has to pay a higher amount later because the toy is harder to find or the availability is scarce allowing various sellers to price gouge? General Production Issues 1/60 YF-19 Requests Also are they going to make a VF-19A Ravens Colour Scheme? Will the upper arm tightness and gunpod issue be fixed in future releases? Will it be possible to improve the YF-19 in Battroid Mode by adding a locking mechanism just like the 1/48s were improved with the nosecone design? Will the 2nd version of the YF-19 with hardpoints beneath the wings be release this year with improved QC? Will Yamato be planning any non-canon schemes? 1/60 VF-0 Requests Is there a VF-0S second issue with the VF-0A/POM fixes planned? Will there be another reissue of the Roy VF-0S as a standalone? Will there be an opportunity to purchase the (grey) Ghost alone for those who already have a VF-0A and VF-0S? Rather than having to purchase a whole new bundle? Will the New standalone Ghost be able to mount to a VF-0A or S? What accessories does it include? Is there a VF-0B and D in the works? GBP Armour? 1/48 VF-1 Requests and Issues Will the Max and Millia be re-released again? Particularly with FAST Packs? Will you still consider producing 1/48 Scale Valkyries? (Refer to NightmareB4Macross’ project as proof of concept). Any new 1/48 VF-1 schemes planned for the year? Is a 1/48 VF-1 Enigma scheme a possibility? Minmay Guard? Will there be a consideration to make the Low Vis v1 in 1S format? Will there be a consideration to make the DYRL? VF-1S Max? Will there be a consideration to make the TV VF-1A Max? Will there be a consideration to make the TV VF-1A Kakizaki? Can we get a new 1/48 to go with the urban camo GBP? Will Yamato be able to produce the ThunderHammer Armoured Valkyrie? Can they stop printing Skull logos on the tailfins of Non Canon releases for customisers? Can we expect a clear version of the 1/48 armored parts in our lifetime? 1/60 SV-51 Which SV-51 releases are planned, and when? (Ivanov, Nora, and CF?) Fans are worried for the SV-51 release due to problematic previous releases as well as a fragile looking design of the SV-51 itself. Will yamato be using better materials and do a proper stress test to ensure the production release of the SV-51 will be free from these problems? Future Project Requests Will there be more Macross Plus releases? (i.e. YF-21? VF-11? Ghost X-9?) Will you plan on producing VFs from other series? (i.e. VF-4G from Flashback 2012, VF-9 Cutlass from Macross M3 Games, Stampeed Valkyrie, Armoured GERWALK?) Will you consider buying the M7 licence and producing new toys? (i.e. VF-17 Nightmares?) Will you consider producing character figures? Will you consider producing 1/60 scale Destroids other than the assumed to be abandoned MK-II Monster? (e.g. Tomahawk, Spartan...) Any plans for an SDF-1? Both TV and DYRL?? Will Yamato consider producing the purple Q-Rau? Will Yamato consider producing more enemy mecha? When can we expect Yamato to sell Macross toys in the US? We have seen the monster from VFX-2. Did this do well? What are the chances we see other mecha like the Variable Glaug or others in the near or long term future? In future? Is it possible to redesign the hands of future releases? A design akin to Bandai’s MG Gundams? What is Yamato's plan for Macross' 25th Anniversary?

Heh, thanks bro. That's hardcore, I can guarantee that there is no difference in "box art". But, there is a difference among boxes with velcro. Early editions of the Roy 1S and Hikaru VF-1S and A and Max VF-1A will have velcro. Also the Low Viz. There is only an inconsistency when you start to get to the VF-1Js. Some have velcro, some don't. But the VF-1Js have the improvements anyway, regardless of whether there is velcro or not. I cannot tell you if there is any difference in ISBN or part #. In short, you can tell the difference between a first edition Roy and Hikaru and later releases, but you can not really tell the difference between the later editions among one another (between 2nd, 3rd and 4th etc). An extrapolative statement that I think that most people will agree on is that it is pretty well believed that you will never encounter a 1st edition Roy or Hikaru in a primary purchase setting (popular dealers such as the ones in my sig, and also direct from suppliers). The only possibility is if you buy it secondhand from ebay or a private sale.

Saw that. It was awesome. I was trying to find Mari's version of it, and then use the Basara one to make a mix using my mate's DJ equipment.
-
Here's an intercomparison. Here's a bit on each variant for some of them: Here's the difference between a TV and DYRL? Valkyrie: The first quoted paragraph is really what you want. You seemed like a bit of a newbie, so I thought i'd give you the whole shebang.
