  1. Hopefully you won't encounter problems, but Sony has a track record of early release products having problems in software and hardware, not specifically playstation. Though early PS1s and PS2s did have problems like the laser not lasting very long, to power problems. My first PS2 lasted less than a year and it was during a time I didn't play games much. So from that experience I intend to at least wait for a new version PS3. I don't mind waiting, they're aren't many games out now and the ones that are out don't appeal to me. Metal gear solid 4, GTA and probably golden axe is what I'm looking forward to
  2. Models I've ordered and on the way:- MG ZZ Gundam MG F91 1/100 Turn A Gundam HG 1/100 V1 & V2 Gundam I was worried the 100th MG kit was going to be one of the non MG kits I've ordered, I would have been annoyed if it turned out i only needed to wait a little bit longer for MG versions. But now we know its going to be gold witch means it could be based on a yellow or gold suit in my opinion. Does the 100th MG actually has to be from Gundam? Could it be from another show like the Patlabor MGs.
  3. With the release of the PS3, its still a good idea to wait for a price drop, but also wait till a 2nd or 3rd version to come out, so most of the bugs would be sorted out. Firmware updates is great for software fixes, but what about hardware fixes. There were a lot of early PS2s breaking down when it was first released. I had a version 3 ps2 and the laser didn't last long. When i looked for a fix, i found out many people had this problem with early ps2s. Right now my 2nd PS2 is a version 7 no problems so far. I probably won't wait for a version 7 PS3 though, that would take years.
  4. A price drop would happen sometime this year or next i hope, cause Blu Ray technology is becoming cheaper and manufacturing becoming easier, so sony won't be able to justify the price of the PS3 based on its Blu Ray anymore. They say thats one of the main reasons PS3 is so expensive in Europe because it uses Blu Ray. Also I don't want to pay £425 for a PS3, thats about $834 US dollars.
  5. PS3 finally out in the UK, it seems like a quiet launch, usually console launches are shown on TV news, showing all the people queuing up and spending the night, but there was no mention. Right now I'll wait for the price to fall and see what future games come out for it, all the games available now don't seem to interest me.
  6. My most favorite animes are mostly real robot shows from the 80s and 90s. The shows that i enjoyed most would be:- 1)Gundam (all universal century shows, i've not seen any AU shows except Turn A) 2)Patlabor 3)Votoms 4)Macross (All of them except mac 2 & 7 though i don't hate those shows)
  7. So far this Motoko figure is the best representation and probably the only completed figure made thats based on the TV show. It certainly beats all the garage kits with over sized breasts. About the size, My other figures that are supposedly 1/7 scale measure about 23cm high and Motoko is about 20cm that makes it more like 1/8 scale i think.
  8. Yeah its really sad how some people and even governments can take movies too far, even though those events depicted happened thousands of years ago. Its time to move on and enjoy movies wither they are fact or fiction.
  9. Thats understandable, but in Scotland, we are taught about the war of Scottish independence in school, when braveheart came out, all that was taught seemed to go out the window. I must have been the only one listening in class. Films like Braveheart triggered a lot of anti-english feeling. I just think its a shame that some people take it too far like beating someone up because hes english. I doubt 300 would stir any feelings like that unless someone who is Greek or Persian has got something to say about it.
  10. The sad fact about Braveheart is that some Scottish people actually thought it was accurate, and it dug up or increased the old hatred towards the english. Thats just to show how some people just don't know their own history. I remember during world cup 2002 i said i would support england, but all my friends called me a traitor and asked if i ever seen braveheart. It kind of gives you the impression that you can't be Scottish and like the English at the same time. I hope people don't take 300 seriously as its just a story wither true or not.
  11. I got that figure last month or so, I was a wee bit disappointed with the size, I expected it to be a little bigger. I got two "shining tears" figures that are also 1/7 scale and they tower over Motoko, either they stated the scale wrong for the other figures or they got it wrong for Motoko.
  12. Will there ever be a final version of the starwars movies? Lucas always seems to be going back and redoing things.
  13. I've not seen the movie yet, but if the movie only depicts 300 spartans against thousands, which would be exciting by the sound of it. But to be Historically accurate the 300 spartans had a few thousand extra soldiers from other states/countries that lent a hand in the battle. That probably won't sound as exciting.
  14. UK and the rest of Europe gets the crap from Sony as usual, not only do we have to pay about $200-$300 more than the USA and Japan we now find out that Sony is removing backwards compatabiliy from the European version and not even bothering to release the low spec PS3, they only intend to sell the 60 gig version. And Sony still has a ban on shops importing PS3s from the USA and Japan
  15. Has anyone bought that 14 inch Cylon figure based on the new series yet, i've seen it on sale on some websites. I'm no sure if i should get one or not.
  16. Any news of a bome kasumi and jung figure, oh and i wouldn't mind having a figure of coach , he'll look cool with them as well though its probably unlikely to happen.
  17. Is it worth getting the ammo box dvd set, if i already own the Nutech/ first versions.
  18. My mega house Tachi arrived today, that was fast, i was expecting it to arrive sometime next week. My first impression is that it is a good size and a brilliant paint job. Its all plastic, you get extras such as the gating gun, natural oil canister, oil tear drop, book and wrench. The Motoko figure has pose able arms and head, but the legs are stuck in the sitting position. The cockpit is quite detailed with flip down visor and a flip open hatch at the top. I would take pictures, but there two thing stopping me, 1) I'm absolutely crap with a camera and 2) I don't know how to upload pictures.
  19. My Megahouse tachi is on its way. I can't find any places that accept pre orders for the Good smile version. I think the good smile version is actually 1/18 scale
  20. I'm hoping they'll bring out a boxset that has all six movies, thats when i would buy starwars on dvd. I've not bought any of the previous dvd releases. I don't want to end up with several copies of the same movies.
  21. The British release is worst than the R1 release because scenes have been cut from it and the subtitles are permanent so you can't switch them off, In my opinion thats much worst than the music change. I think the copyright issue covers most of the west which includes USA and Europe. So if something is British made, its probably copyrighted in the US as well. The Japanese version and HK versions are not affected because its a totally different region with its own copyright laws. Copyright only covers certain regions and not the whole world.
  22. I just ordered the MG F91, while i was browsing there was also a blue F91 piloted by Harrison Madyn. Who is Harrison? and where does he appear?
  23. I thought the characters in the movie were much better. Minmay and kaifun were not as annoying as in the TV series. The movie soundtrack was also a big improvement. Its hard to choose which is best because both complement each other. Without the TV series some won't understand the movie.
  24. I'm looking forward to this sequel as i enjoyed the first movie even though it had some plot holes left unexplained. What I liked most form the the first one was the Landmates. I'm hoping that the second movie might be enough to influence a toy/model company to make a Landmate. I remember Yamato had some prototypes, but the finished product hasn't been released.
