What kind of paint do you use, I like using acrylic, but now my local model shop only stocks enamel, which is the paint i have most difficulty with.
-
so most of you have the right equipment, I only got paint brushes and spray paint. I usually try to avoid painting because I'll mostly make a mess of things, like leaving brush strokes, paint being too thick or something else. My MG kits are mostly left unpainted apart from small details and i also do the panel lines. I have painted older kits and non gundam kits fully as well, though they are not as great as the ones shown in the pictures of hobby magazines.
-
Heres a question, how many of you fully paint your gundam models? I usually leave mine if they are molded in colour and just paint the small details that aren't in colour. I'm not really great at painting anyway The only model I've fully painted was MG Black Rick Dias to Red, but I've left a lot of brush strokes on it

Season 9 & 10 of SG1 are only available on satellite/cable TV in the UK along with Atlantis season 2 onwards, so i have to settle for the box sets when they come out.
-
I've seen up to season 8, but I'm planning on getting the season 9 box set, then season 10 and movies as well. As for Stargate Atlantis, I find the Scottish doctor and Rodney Mackay to be very annoying, but the show as a whole has grown on me, though I've only seen season 1. I'm hoping of getting the SG1 figures, but the Colonel O'niell figure is hard to find, he's my favorite character and so is Carter.

Looking for the Colonel O'Neil figure from diamond select, can't seem to find it in stock anywhere, but i found this instead, http://www.phoenix-icons.com/phoenix-icons...4e4e7daa764701f

I've got two yamato scopedogs along with the Chirico figure. My scopedogs also have problems with balance, but when i bought the parachute pack and round mover set they came with pieces of plastic that you can place in the arms and ankles that help with the balance and posing. They lock or block the joints from moving. I don't know if any of the newer scopedogs have these included, they helped alot, though you still get some loose joints in some areas. If i knew takara were bringing out their scopedog, i probably would have waited for it, but now i have the yamatos, i'll have to settle with them, I won't buy any more scopedogs since they all look the same.

PS3 price drop in the UK shops, most shops are selling it for £400 instead of £425. Depending on which shop you also get extras like HDMI cable or movie. The PS3 must be not selling well to drop £25 in less than three weeks since the launch date. I'm going to wait longer for the price to fall further.

The Aim for the Top! Gunbuster Thread v2.0

We're also getting two episodes per disk unlike the Japanese who only have one episode, so they are paying more for less. -
Was it ever explained how every planet they visted, the people spoke english?, Was there a universal translator like star trek.

I think after looking at pictures of Char's Zaku II ver 2, I think 100th would be RX 78 with a display stand so you can stand it next to the Zaku in various poses. http://www6.ocn.ne.jp/~midori-b/newpic/nes-g0719.htm

I don't think its a matter of dumbing down, you must take into account that kids today are influenced by different things than we were. Even the world events are totally different, we had the cold war, they have the war on terror. Updating an old show like thundercats makes it more like other shows they are familer with instead of old animation. This way it would have more appeal to them. Also by using the thundercats name it would encourage their parents to watch it with them, then get them to buy them the toys.

speaking of Star Trek, has anybody got an idea when Corgi are going to bring out the uss defiant and voyager die cast models

Something totally unexpected? hmm......G SAVIOUR

This show is still targeted at KIDS and if there are adults that watch it, it would be a added bonus for the studios. You may think the whole rock band, story and character changes are crap, but so were the cartoons we watched when we were KIDS. You may have great memories of a show in your childhood, but watch it now through your ADULT eyes you would come to realize how much crap you actually watched, I had my reality check when I watch an episode of transformers, it was not how i remembered it, it was crap. Cartoons made for the West are mainly for children and that is the market. By renewing a franchise they have a chance of creating a newer fan base. Just look at gundam why do they keep coming up with wing, x, seed etc, to create a new fan base without prior knowledge of the first show.
-
Again, Its for KIDS not for their dads, it doesn't matter if we think it's right or wrong, what matters is what the kids of today think about it. If they like it then they'll make more and thats all that matters, we are not the target audience cause they expect us to be all adults by now with kids of our own and now its our turn to be moaned at by kids that want the toys. I remember moaning at my dad because i wanted the thundertank, but i never got it . As for originality, that doesn't matter because they are bringing thundercats to a new audience that don't even know about the old show. Lets face it, its out with the old and in with the new, we had our thundercats now its their turn.
-
You should all remember that thundercats and most of the other cartoons we watched when we were kids was made for KIDS. These new cartoons wither thundercats or something else are made for today's kids in mind, not for their dads. Even if you were to watch some of the old cartoons you watched as a kid yourself now, you would realise how childish and stupid the stories and characters are.

I'm thinking of getting the Turn A boxsets, but they are very expensive. I'm in the middle of collecting victory gundam dvds. When the victory memorial box came out they didn't release any new models of that series by the way, and since victory wasn't all that popular in japan and the mustache design of the Turn A was a turn off for them too, I reckon Bandai would go for a super, mega, ultra popular gundam design to celebrate 100th MG. They did release first gundam on dvd not long ago as well, along with 08th team.....

That particular model is 1/18 scale.

All this talk about having the Turn A Gundam being the 100th MG, does it really have a great chance, I thought the Turn A wasn't really all that popular in japan because of the mustache design. Won't Bandai release a super popular Gundam for 100th. If it turns out to be Turn A I would be annoyed, cause I already ordered the non MG version.

I bought GOW yesterday, two games come to mind when playing it, onimusha and devil may cry, only far better. I'm surprised to see so many breast in a game, i never thought they would ever make a game with bare breast on PS2, was there an outcry by parents etc like with the grand theft auto games.
-
I was thinking of getting this game when it first came out, but i chose to buy Spartan Total Warrior instead, as you can tell its another game based on a spartan. Its made by the same company that made the Total War games like Rome and Shogun. In my opinion its a great game as well, but now GOW is a budget title i might pop in the shops and buy it.

Good point, I was thinking of the Hyakushiki, the first release was gold plated then the second release was yellow. I've not seen G-Gundam so I assumed gold was the colour the suits change into like the guys in Dragon Ball.
