  1. It's not out in the US on DVD. Manga has given a couple dates over the years, but I sincerely believe we'll probably never see it. At least from that company ayway. I'd pick up the Japanese release, but it's about $250 for the set. Giant Robo is an incredible series. Characters, story, music, animation, and designs all work wonderfully together. I'm more than willing to forgive them for taking ten years to make the whole thing. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourelf a favor and watch it as soon as possible.
  2. For an amazingly amazing film featuring airplanes, I recommend Royal Space Force, Wings of Honneamise.
  3. Try something like D&D or BESM. Why let yourself be limited by a computer? ; )
  4. I think private citizens being able to own military equipment is a good thing, but we're drifting dangerously into politics... Hows that? Lighten up man... It is only a problem if members start threatening each other's lives. *shrugs* Don't get me wrong. I don't care if others want to talk about it. I'm just here to talk about hobby stuff
  5. ROFLMAO! The guns in Star Wars are all real guns. Han Solo's pistol is a Mauser and the Stormtrooper rifles are Stens.
  6. Check it out. I was never much of a Transformers fan (the lame cartoons turned me off to the toys), so I could be wrong... but, wasn't Mirage an autobot race car? I could swear that my younger brother had the original one.
  7. They're small rockets used to steer a vehicle in space.
  8. I think private citizens being able to own military equipment is a good thing, but we're drifting dangerously into politics...
  9. I want it. And hey, they'll even pant it to order.
  10. Does anyone else remember an artist for one of the Robotech comics posting on this board talking about how he got in trouble with HG for using DYRL? designs?
  11. Ah. Gotcha.
  12. Look closer. That's one big box, not three individual ones.

Isn't that a little hard on the tonsils?
  14. Purely speculative, but they look kinda fragile.
  15. Incorrect. Try again. Lazy was Kageyama's first band. They recorded a few albums during the late '70s and early '80s before Kageyama went solo. In the late '90s, they reunited for a few songs; one of which is the opening theme for Zone of the Enders: Dolores,i. That's what I get for going with the first site I found. I don't feel so bad about looking it up now, though.
  16. The answer is D. Does using Google to find the answer count? Interestingly enough, that name doesn't show up in Doi's Seiyuu Database.
  17. That would all depend on whether or not you think Simpsons has already jumped. I can't think of a single moment that I'd call a shark jump, but then I don't follow the show very closely these days (no TV reception). The show often gets really weird, so maybe the whole thing is one big shark jump.
  18. There is no TV. Just one film and two OVAs. Also, it's not in the same universe as Dirty Pair, except that Dirty Pair also exist as fictional characters in Crusher Joe. Both the Crusher Joe and Dirty Pair novels were written by the same author.
  19. - Great satire on fans and fandom mascerading as a giant robot SF series. Some of the more subtle parts require knowledge of the history of anime and science fiction. - Classic film/OVAs with lots of action and an intelligent plot. Good animation, but the designs are dated (whatever that means). - It's still airing, as far as I know. They only do a couple episodes a month. What I've seen of it is good though. More comparable to the manga than the movie. The others I've not seen.
  20. While I don't agree with your assertions on copyright, I would like to say that I do appreciate the time and effort you put into your site and its materials. And though I may have nitpicked about your translations, they're still far better than what I've seen some professionals put out. Nor do I question the veracity of your sources. I appologize that my complaints have over-shadowed my appreciation for what you do. You have a great site and you should be very proud of it.
  21. I don't know if it's generally true, but it does make sense. Another example would be how all the characters react when the true source of Giant Robo's power is revealed in Giant Robo The Animation.
  22. Only for space? Then why the airplane based design? Those wings and tail fins are a complete waste.
  23. Completely untrue. The Berne Convention specifically states that translations are owned by the original copyright holder. Unless Nanashi has a license or contract saying otherwise, those translations belong to the publisher of his source material.
  24. I wonder if a movie is the Simpson's way of 'jumping the shark.'
  25. Actually, if they explain that the arm was re-attached, then it's not a plot hole. Otherwise, I agree, this show leaves skid marks going down the drain. And what's up with the seemingly constant villifying of Oda Nobunaga in anime? The only show I can think of where he appears and isn't a bad guy is Time Stranger.
