I like the design, but I'm curious to see how well implimented it is in the toy itself.

toy section becomes a danger zone....

Please tell me that was meant to be ironic. -
Odd. I don't remember too many people here not liking it.

help with older lego stuff, and stuff
JELEINEN replied to kanata67's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Brick Link is great. I buy stuff through it all the time. As for looking things up there, it's pretty good, but you have to learn the nomenclature. The other place you might check out is Lugnet (www.lugnet.com), which is an online LEGO community. -
The same way most SF movies do. Space operas are just westerns in space.

Definitely true. As for their rep, older fans I think still remember ADV for starting with porn (that and bad subtitles, but we won't get into that). I think most newer fans (which are the majority these days) are probably unaware of how ADV got their start.

It holds 200 rounds. -
It looks like this long time fan favorite has gotten picked up. The domain name "kodocha.tv" has been registered by Funimation. I'll be very curious to see how they handle the show. It's length (102 eps, IIRC) suggests to me that they'll probably try airing it on CN or somewhere similar. The thing is that the show has a lot of cultural references that obviously won't directly translate. I smell a re-write, but as long as they give it to me uncut on DVD in the original language (and I can't see why they won't), I won't complain.

YES!!!!!

Great soundtrack, but rotoscoping... *shudder*

Whatever you say, Skippy.

Wasn't there a TV series in the US back in the 80's or 90's about aliens emmigrating to Earth and centered around cops?

That may be, oh Illiterate One, but it still doesn't bring him forgiveness for birthing the abomniation known as Streamline. There's nothing faithful about anything the guy's ever done.

That's the point. The original BT designs were from Macross, Dougram, etc. These Japanese re-designs basically keep the same general shape while trying to hid the source well enough to keep from being sued.

A flawed argument. Even with diamonds, the bigger they are the more they cost.

This list has been around for years. I've always thought it was rather lame.

The strange things one finds on the web
JELEINEN replied to GobotFool's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's exactly what I was thinking... -
That came out just after the first movie got released, over 2 years ago. Been living under a rock or something? Glad to see a genre film get some recognition, but if one of the awards it got was Best Adaptation, someone was asleep at the wheel.

I thought Zeta was supposed to be getting a DVD release before airing.

*Ahem* Beltane70, you're supposed to ask a question now.

no one can be disappointed with anything? Essentially, Graham's review is influenced by two ways of thinking... Like all reviews ever, it makes a subjective judgement. Paraphrase: I LIKE IT! but like all good reviews [which this is DEFINITLY a good review (no one misunderstand)] it makes objective points about its subject. Paraphrase: Slightly smaller and less intricate with less features than Hasbro's 13" Darth Vader action figure, but for 6 times the price! I love the 1:60 line despite what everyone else says about it, I was about to die waiting for this toy... but I was expecting too much, die cast metal (Iknow what everyone thinks of horrible, horrible metal, but I love it) keeping the metal parts in the legs using ratcheted joints, the center of gravity would be low and help balance, even the 1:60 scale hip joint problem could be easily avoided in such a large, non-transforming toy by 2 or 3 ratched joint mechanisms in the hips. At least as much articulation as the 1:48 int battaloid mode... even if it were all plastic and not very articulate, if it was a big as it was in the prototype pics (as compared to 1:60 Roy) I would understand the price and buy it up quick... but it has been scaled down (look at Graham's comparison pics, and read how scale is not listed) and it doesn't even have the ability to open its missile pods (I know that would be a feat of engineering, but look at the 1:48 and its MANY amazing engineering feats, that's why the 1:48 is worth the price) but hey, you're right! if i don't like being disappointed then I am a bitch. And if I explain my reaction... that's just more bitchiness. And if I don't pony up $120 for this 11" plastic action figure, then I am an idiot. EDIT: also, you can buy 2 20th anniversary Optimus Primes for the price of this 1 figure. Thank you for articulating exactly why you don't like it. It sounds more to me like you had different expectations for the toy, rather than the toy having real faults. I can certainly understand not liking the price point, anyway.

it means "are you going to fart" in farsi rofl That's funny. Well, technically Japanese and Farsi are both in the same language family...

I've embarassed myself. Thank you for putting me in my place. I read, but apparently not carefully enough. Hey, it's cool to see you say that. It's rare on the internet. And my post was more snippy than it should have been, for which I appologize.
-
So what exactly did you find wrong with it, or is this just the usual bitchiness?

Wrong! Dead wrong! A hydrogen bomb uses FUSION as its power source. You detonate a FISSION bomb to get a fusion reaction going. Basically, you're trying to get the Hydrogen atoms to go so fast that when two atoms collide, their protons fuse into Helium, annihilating a little of their mass and convert that into energy. E = mc^2 actually means something, you know? It's not just a catchphrase. Your statement has nothing to do with what you quoted. Nowhere did 1BRD say that an H-Bomb produced a fission reaction. You might try reading first, responding second. It really helps.
