I have not watched this yet. I have, however, watched yuo youtube amv of the Minmey/Basara Angel Voice duet and it is the most beautiful song in the galaxy and their duet is lovely - although the AMV is structured in such a way that DYRL is also used. I always tear up when Minmey chimes in... hopefuly my slow-azz computer will finally end up downloading all of M7 and the Dynamite/Encore stuff by the end of the year (grumble grumble)... I have M7 but it suddenly just shriveled up and died .... Anyways - looking forward to it. Bomber! VFTF1

I think Beware of Blast is posting in these threads because he wants high quality Valkyrie rather than break-when-you-look-at-me-wrong Valkyrie. I respect that and agree with it. I'm not making excuses for Yamato - just trying to understand. Far as I can tell - the answer to why the problems keep happening is this: They are going something tremendously difficult and expensive for a niche market that all in all is very small and given the high price of their product is unlikely to ever expand vastly. Ergo - to be blunt - I doubt they huge profit margins and wonder if they even have much of a profit margin - and if so - I wager that they re-invest it. Their only hope is to so perfect this stuff that price comes down, quality increases and demand for high end Macross products remains constant (not even saying it has to go up - but at least that it won't drop). Hopefully they will eventually get things on the right track. Besides - if it were just a matter of qc or using better plastic or something really simple, then some other company would have long ago given us better quality Valkyrie than yamato... I dunno... just speculating is all VFTF1

Actually this is totally true My best friend in college was gay and I went 4 years suspecting that his lack of female companionship was a result of him prefering to read books My roommate (different from my best friend) even dated my (long ex) girlfriend's friend (a girl) - but later I found out he prefered asian boys Again - never saw it coming!! But that was in the USA. In Poland, the gays I know are really exhibitionist about it so it's not like I don't know they're gay. But wait - how can GULD be gay?? I mean- he clearly gets with Myung - and he clearly desires her throughout the entire show... Isamu hits on Lucy.... Gamlin proposes to Mary Mylene... I can see a case being made for Bassara - but you could equally make the case that he was more interested in music than women - or even better - he was more interested in Sivil than in either Mylene or Bikr chick... I respectfully disagree with the assesment. Yamato has learned how to create a perfect transformation VF-1 with no swing bars or legs coming off. Yamato has also learned how to create an SV-51. Yamato learned how to create the 1/60 YF19. All of the criticisms of what Yamato does wrong or poorly are valid. But sometimes I get the feeling we're pretending that developing the SV-51 or YF19 1/60 or engineering perfect transformation Valkyrie was child's play. Ahhh - I coulda done it in my sleep! Nooo problem! More likely that Yamato put so much effort into developing and perfecting the Valkyrie we love that a lot of loose ends were left - well, loose. VFTF1

The only time I started to like Sheryl as a woman was when she was shy while talking to Alto about Galaxy - and Alto liked it too "I don't know what to say when you're so humble." Heh I always rationalized that Zero happened BEFORE Rainy Night's meeting with Claudia and the "fear speech" I think Roy was ALWAYS afraid - but only AFTER he had lost Aires to war - he decided that he had to come out with his feelings and not be afraid of being attached to a woman. After all - he clearly didn't see Aires off to Oxford and what could have been a budding romance was left dangling. This is probably because Roy doesn't want to hurt the women in his life the way the death of his friend in war hurt him. So Roy keeps Aires at a distance. When she dies - he realizes that he lost a chance to consumate a great love. He returns to Claudia in the rain and gives her a speech about how scared he is to fly the new fighter - this is the first time he shows his fear to someone else - it doesn't mean that he has to be shivering in the cockpit - he is just opening up and letting Claudia know that he's scared of death and pain for loved ones but still values her feelings. The tragedy is that he then ends up causing Claudia grief after he dies - although I think he comes back for the salad precisely to wash away any doubt Claudia might have had that he loved her. DYRL doesn't fit this story as well. VFTF1

This I don't understand I mean... Bassara and Gamlin are competing for a girl who can't decide on either of them; and the girl's mom wants her to marry a military pilot (like daddy) who is respectable instead of end up with a rebelious rock star... sounds like a pretty stereotypical girl/guy aka not gay story to me... Who was this member and where can I read these interesting theories of his? VFTF1

But I don't want to attend the Sharon Apple concert. I don't like her music - it's just as equally stail as the cynical woman who provides her "heart"... albeit I have sympathy for Myung and she does sing beautifully at the end...
