  1. Thanks. That really does help the image out.
  2. Sorry. I meant the quality of the scan and stitching. Can I get a high rez version of that awesome, modified poster?
  3. It's all done with a sewing needle chucked into a small X-Acto handle. I bought Every scriber I could get my hand on but the needle is my favorite. I also have the Hasegawa templates.
  4. Cool! Let's share some stuff! I'm a comic artist myself. This is an older version of the same mecha. I hope it can be seeing. This is getting so embarassing. That is freakin' cool. Just rename it and go for a theme. You could base a tactical game off of your designs. I think some resin kits of your stuff might actually do well.
  5. I think we just need to use more discreet communication. May the PM should be used more.
  6. I had a couple. They weren't near as nice as the Nichimo kits though.
  7. Sorry about that. What can ya do?
  8. I think it look great! If you wan't to take away the "sheese factor" that may, or may not, be there I would suggest a slight chissling of the cheeks. That would make the face a tiny bit more aggressive looking without changing the great deisgn you already have going.
  9. And I stand corrected.
  10. That's as good as you're gonna get unless someone here want to tear apart thier $50 Red Book. (Or is it the Blue one?)
  11. I've seen rapid proto tests of MG models in Hobby Japan. They are usually very rough. And I have seen footage of Bandai cutting molds with CNC mills that are quite tight. I got the impression they were cutting Aluminum because of the light tone of the metal and the ease with which a tiny bit was plowing through the material. STL parts all have a stair step pattern in them that needs to be removed before you can mold and cast them. The CNC work I intend to do is solely for the basic forms that will be used to create vaccum formed skins to super detail. There are limits in what a machine can do in a given amount of time.
  12. Not bored so much as burned out. That's what happened with the Valkyrie and Discovery project. Right now I am trying to figure out the new Galactica from some test renders that were just posted. Oh lordy what a pain that on is to figure out. I think there are only three straight lines on the whole thing. I agree about the thread jump too. Maybe we should have this transfered to the "Brother can you spare a mesh" thread.
  13. I would use the term "mythical" myself.
  14. I didn't mean to hijack the thread. Really! I am thinking of starting fresh on that project. I kind of already have a thread going in that regards. It's the "Brother can you spare a mesh?" thread. I will be cutting material with a CNC for the forms this time. I guess I was too slow in finger pointing this time.
  15. Just so you know. Recasting isn't scratch building. This is... http://home.comcast.net/~cobywan/Templates/VFfoam.htm http://home.comcast.net/~cobywan/Templates/VFShells.htm http://home.comcast.net/~cobywan/Templates/VFscribes.htm God I love posting my stuff.....
  16. I'm guessing it is a tinted glass. I assume it has a radiation filtering coating similar to the gold plating found on the old space capsules.
  17. Great work. I should put up a gallery on my web page of buildups of this kit. I am always amased at how some people can take this kit to a new level. The Lancer II is indeed manned.
  18. I got it. It opens just fine in Rhino. I will have to make a run over to my friends house to try the tool path phase. I will definately keep everyone apraised of the progress.
  19. OOOOOOhhhhhhh. YF-19.....
  20. I say it looks beautiful! It would look great in 1/48th scale too. If you wan't to share that mesh with me to see what I can make I would love to give it a shot. I can open LWO objects just fine. My home address is; cobywan@comcast.net Thanks guys. This is turning into an awesome thread. And the CNC is on the road from Toronto to Seattle today. Woo hooooo!
  21. The ifuriating thing is that we all wanted him to get our money. We always had the option of recasting his stuff. You can find all of his new stuff on Hobbyfand and E2046. I can't wait to find out what he was trying to say in his letter.
  22. O.K. So you just actually eased a lot of my concern. If it is normal for him to take a year then we really can't get too upset. Thanks for the input.
  23. You are probably going to be addressed by them.
  24. He's a FLAKE! We have all waited longer than we would ever have done if he didn't already have our money. I have a felling there are going to be a lot of recasts done if we ever get our kits.
  25. I can't commit to casting but I can offer to make the molds. Think about it.
