Perhaps someone should post pics of the problem areas and the fixes. -Kyp

My gunpod isn't that far off at all and as far as the rear landing gear, I just forced mine further open and now they open perfectly with NO DRILLING or any other mods at all. I haven't transformed it, but I guess I will see for myself how hard it is to do when I finally get the urge to do so. For now, I am perfectly happy with keeping it in fighter mode and can't wait to buy the other paint schemes. BTW, anyone who isn't happy with their YF-19, I will gladly give them $50 +shipping for it. -Kyp

Look at the pic again and notice the big piece of the spray can cap that's been cut out. -Kyp

Man, that's awesome!!! I'm not gonna mess with mine, but I may try and commission someone to custom detail it for me. -Kyp

Yamato 1/60 scale YF-19 Fix/Modification Thread
Kyp Durron replied to Wicked Ace's topic in The Workshop!
On the rear landing gear, all I did was force the rear landing gears outward more and they are fine now. No drilling or anything! So now the only "issue" with my YF-19 is the gunpod and to be honest, it doesn't really bother me enough to even worry with. I am very glad that I pre-orderd mine and have no regrets whatsoever. -Kyp -
*Spinkles Phoenix Down on dead topic* This guy hasn't been back here since Dec. 2005, I guess this project died which after reading this is a shame. -Kyp

Let's go find where they keep those prototypes at and take them for ourselves!!! Muhahahaha!!! Seriously, they really need to make them... I thought about buying a blue Legioss just in case, but since it looks like Toynami is going back on it's plan, I guess I won't bother. -Kyp -
The 1/48's appear to be superior in just about every way, but it seems that Yamato is favoring the 1/60's again. This is the only reason I am heistant to buy any of the 1/48's. -Kyp

Yeah, it is amazing just how small the Legioss is compaire to the other two. I love all three equally. The YF-19 is much more solid than the VF-0S and about on par with the Legioss in fighter mode. -Kyp -

Just showing off my newest addition. -Kyp -
^Lol...I'm not afraid at all, I just want to keep mine as "minty" as possible. -Kyp

Doesn't bother me, I'm not planning on transforming it...I prefer to display these in fighter mode anyways. I have to say though, they really should have been able to catch these QC issues before these things left the building. -Kyp

Mine is gray as well....nothing else to report, it's just as Graham said, with the off-center gunpod and canted inward rear landing gear. But it's still awesome. -Kyp

You're not alone, my friend. -Kyp

Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaase let it be Mospeada!! I think that I would probably get the two main paint schemes for the SV-51, but because they will be expensive as hell, that will probably be it. I need my money for the other paint schemes of the YF-19!! -Kyp
-
If it's not the Alpha/Beta, I couldn't care less but that's just me. I do think that Graham was referring to Mospeada because he said that it would make a lot of MW's happy. -Kyp

Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow! I'm a fighter-mode kind of guy myself, I may transform it, but I doubt it. I know it will look nice next to my VF-0S. -Kyp
-
Yeah, I can see where it would piss a lot of people off, but if they are going to be making nothing but 1/60's from here on out, it wouldn't surprise me if that's exactly what they ended up doing... I want some VF-1's...but I don't want them in 1/48 when I have started with the 1/60 VF-0S. And I don't want the current VF-1 1/60's because they don't have as good detail and would probably look like crap next to my VF-0S and future 0A's... :-\ -Kyp
-
I will be getting this, I have to since I plan on getting Shin's VF-0 to go with my VF-0S. It just wouldn't be right, lol. If the other 80's transforiming toy turns out to be a Mospeada "Alpha"w/"Beta" coming soon after, I will weep like a woman in a fit of joy!!!! I'm man enough to admit it... -Kyp

An SV-51? YES!!! A Low-vis YF-19? Pass me the koolaid! Oh, my wallet...my poor, poor wallet... I think they should redesign the 1/60 VF-1's to give them perfect transformation and detail gimmics of the 1/48's and 1/60 VF-0's. -Kyp
-
Yep. I have a Obi-Wan ROTS FX, a Luke ROTJ luxeon converted FX, and an Anakin AOTC (The first one MR made in 2002) -Kyp

Panel Lining and Tampo Printing and better Stickers and QC issues. They are all equally important, IMO. -Kyp

I think they did a great job with the Low-Vis Ver. 1, so I voted yes. They proved they could do panel-lining and weathering with that issue. -Kyp
