I transformed my VF-0S fine, but it's too floppy so I put it back in fighter mode and won't be TF it back because of that so I'm good. I wish I had waited though... I am glad that the Shin will have the fix though...I may have to get that one in the future. -Kyp

I too did some similar comparisons and I am convinced that the MPC Alpha's are actually VERY close to 1/60 scale. Much more so than most would think/believe. Kinda cool to know that I inspired this thread. Your pics make me want a Blue MPC Alpha sooo bad! -Kyp

If you come up with a solution to the shoulder issue, let me know. While the shoulders not sitting totally flush doesn't bother me, if there's an easy fix/mod, I won't hesitate to do it. On mine, it's more solid in fighter mode than my VF-0S, but that's just mine and I haven't transformed it either so maybe that's why. -Kyp

Hey man, that's great! I'm glad to see someone else be able to fix theirs without taking it apart, congrats! So how is the rest of yours? Does the neck break apart OK for you too? Nice pics BTW Macross73. -Kyp
-
Well, it worked for mine, but it's not for those who are either OK with them as is, or don't want to take the chance. Still, I felt compelled to share my experience with mine. -Kyp

Getting them to go back into fighter mode is the one issue these don't seem to have. I would also suggest you try it again and make sure that you have everything in place that is supposed to be, every tab in the slot, and so forth. It can be a little hard to get everything together, but once you do, it's pretty solid unlike the VF-0's. $140? Man, I thought I did good getting mine for $162 shipped. -Kyp

Then I guess it's a good thing that no one was vewing this at the time I made the addition to the post! -Kyp

Short, sweet, and to the point, lol. I didn't like Macross II that much anyways, they did have some cool Valks, but nothing that I would really care to own. But that's just me. I just don't see anyone picking this up an making toys based on it...sure Bandai could do it, but they don't strike me as having any intrest in macross save for the Mac7 stuff that they did, and they haven't done anything since that I know of. I wouldn't hold my breath for anything from Mac2 anytime soon, if ever. However, you never know...I never thought I would see a SV-51 myself and lo and behold, there's one coming so I guess it doesn't hurt to hope. -Kyp

Not mine. I forced mine open more and they clicked into place with no mods!! I highly encourage everyone to try applying gentle pressure and force them out more while using your other hand to brace the opposite side of the engine nacelle while doing this. Don't use gorilla strength to do this, just try using slowing increasing force till it clicks into place. Here is a pic of mine, note that I still have the gun pod issue: Now for a pic to prove that mine is unmodified: *Disclaimer* -I am in no way responsible for anyone attempting this and uses too much force and breaks something!! -Kyp

Awesome! Hey, this is something Yamato can do in 1/48- Oh yeah, that's right, they have this aversion to doing any two-seaters in 1/48.... -Kyp

I didn't think the tiny quoted images would hurt even those who are on 56K, but what do I know? Now, anything bigger, I automatically delete out of quotes... -Kyp

Yeah, I already have 2, and I am getting the Shin VF-0A too. You'll have a crap-load in no time, lol. -Kyp
-
If they are alternating between Mac+ and Mac0, and they have done the YF-19, what makes you think that there won't be a YF-21? They're doing the SV-51, and that's something I NEVER would have expected them to do. Nani?!: True, you do indeed have at least 5 good months left in that sig of yours... -Kyp
-
Quite true. The issues with the VF0's is freaking ridiculous. BTW, you need to update your sig, Nani?!, numbers 5 & 7 are being taken care of. -Kyp

I transformed my 0S once and hotlued it into fighter mode where it will stay, so I am not gonna bother checking mine. I am in for the group order on the Shin VF-0A, and if it turns out to be a piece of poo, I won't be buying anymore...except for any re-paints of the YF-19, I love mine. *Edit* testing: poo fart motherfarter..gotta love the forum censor, lol. -Kyp

Yamato 1/60 scale YF-19 Fix/Modification Thread
Kyp Durron replied to Wicked Ace's topic in The Workshop!
I already have two-part 5 minute epoxy handy, hopefully, I will never be forced to use it. -Kyp -
Which in it's self is a catch-22. So we're screwed and may as well deal with it...I prefer to display mine in fighter mode anyways, but still it would be nice to have one that can actually do what it's supposed to without all the bugs. -Kyp

New Robotech Shadow Chronicles Vid
Kyp Durron replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've been a fan since '85 myself, and these reports really sadden me. The Mospeada/New Generation part of the RT series made more sense than Southern Cross....that always did seem out of place to me even before I learned about it being a Frankenstein of three seperate series'. -Kyp -
Because they don't seem focused on re-issuing anything at the moment with all these new releases...but I could be wrong. Trust me, if they re-issue a VF-0S/A with all the fixes, I would be one of the first in line for that. -Kyp
-
Nah, mine never came close to having a gap like that. I guess that's why mine's OK. Needless to say, since mine seems to only have the gunpod issue, I wouldn't sell mine for anything. Well....maybe for $500, lol. -Kyp

New Robotech Shadow Chronicles Vid
Kyp Durron replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Can't type...laughing my ass off!! I can say from the trailer that at least the Alpha's weren't using "anime magic" to transform and they appeared to look much like my MPC green alpha in fighter mode which I thought was kinda cool. -Kyp -
And don't expect a second issue anytime soon, either. -Kyp
-
Guys, I just tried "breaking the neck" of it and it completely broke apart!!! JK!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I did it with no problems whatsoever, no stress marks, no problems and it went back together just fine! I haven't transformed it the rest of the way, I just wanted to see if I had you guy's dreaded neck issues that appears to be croping up left and right in the last day or so. The ONLY "issue" I have with mine is the gunpod being off-center, otherwise, it's perfect, even the rear landing gear. I guess I lucked up and got me a good one! I won't be transforming mine, I think I will keep it nice and minty since it appears that I have a rare first issue whose only problem is the gunpod. I'm really sorry to hear about all the problems the rest of you are having. -Kyp

Lol...ok, I need to set the parameters better then: $75 shipped is what I am willing to pay. -Kyp
