Yeah, if anyone's thinking that Ozma's is going to go DOWN after release, they're going to be in for a very rude awakening. I'd be willing to bet you're going to see close to current VF-4 prices on the secondary market. I'm not going to lie, I snagged one at NY while the order was up, even at 19500, if I ever feel like reselling it, I'll get my money back and then some, no question.

I knew you would like it. I wasn't kidding when I said this thing is more model than toy in terms of looks and quality. Makes the GX-57 look like a kids toy. I had a bit of a stupid accident with my 2nd Yamato this morning, my hand slipped and I broke off the tip of that damned air foil mast in front of the first shock cannon on the front of the deck. Really couldn't glue it back right and knew it would never look right, so I did the next best thing and turned lemons into lemon-aid by customizing it a bit : I also removed the very front air foil mast from the bow, it came out easily, it wasn't glued in very well and it was a wonder it didn't fall off. I think it looks pretty damned good all considering, so now this second one will just be my customized version. I like it better anyways, no seriously, that part of the design always has bothered me. Why the Hell would you want a tall air foil in front of your main shock cannon?!

Or, because it's Ozma, the prices will skyrocket, especially if there's no re-release anytime soon. Look how long it's been since Ozma's VF-25 was first issued.

Saw that coming/10 My second one came in today, yes, I got a second one, within the first couple of days of having my first one, I knew I needed a second one, just to have one displayed with the wings extended vs retracted. Hey, it's no different that all the other members here who buy multiples to display their valks in either various modes, and/or option parts. I'll say it here and now, this is the best Yamato toy ever, so nicely done that it seriously blurs the line between toy and model, unlike any other release before it. A friend of mine came over the other day and looked at it and said "Wow, you did a really good job on that model!" Also, I will make a prediction : There will be a remake of the Comet Empire series arc, and we WILL see another SoC Andromeda, but this one will also be redesigned, mainly I believe it will have more AA guns like the Yamato this time. And I WILL get at least ONE when they come out.

The fact that any Valk that has to do with Ozma sells out stupid quick should make it apparent that HE was the main character in Macross Frontier, not Alto.

Been following this for a while, I'm posting just to ask, am I the only one who really doesn't give a crap? Not really surprising to me either way about the CaD though.

Broke out the tape measure, the model is right at 16 and 3/4 inches in length. wm cheng, you're gonna love it, can't wait to see what you do with it. @ Drad : No man, that's the great thing about living in the states.

If you look up pics of the 1/700 special DVD box model by Bandai, you'll see A LOT of similarities between it, and the 2199 version. Look at the first illustration, the 2199 version also follows that design philosophy, so it will look good from the 3/4 views.

Will take them tomorrow. The GX-64 isn't basically the Yamato 2199 form, it IS the same, as it used the CGI files from the anime.

Side View : Deck panel lining details : Catapult detail, yes the catapult deck rooms and windows are molded in nicely GX 57's AA guns vs GX-64's AA guns : I think we know who the winner is here, right? GX-57's Bridge vs GX-64's Bridge : Gee Wally, I wonder who won that one? And unlike the GX-57, the GX 64's guns can be positioned perfectly level for a straight broadside : Another thing I like is the detachable wings, they are grey hull colored on the top, and red on the bottom with the bottom half of the hull, very nice effect and I think also accurate to the anime. The fighters attach to the stand via small pegs (there's also the same pegs on the catapult arms and hangar bay bottom door), I can litterally turn the empty stand over and shake it and they will not come off. The fighters also have their own clear wire stands so they can be positioned in flight around the Yamato, which is a really nice touch. When you turn the Yamato on, you hear the computer radar systems come online and the bridge lights and engines come on and stay on for a few minutes before going out due to inactivity. The turrets can be rotated either way via a wheel intergrated into the hull's observation deck on the starboard side I think this was a feature the BPX-01 Yamato had as well : QC wise, I am VERY happy and that's saying something, as I'm damned picky. Bandai hit this motherf*cker out of the park, best Yamato release ever, and THE DEFINITIVE Yamato as this bad boy is 100% accurate to the anime. They used the anime's CGI files, and the 2199 series director oversaw this model's production and it shows, IMHO. Bottom line, as Maddox might say, buy this now or go to HELL. ANY pics you guys want/need let me know.
